Electrician (Dave) was very through. He found the problem and fixed the outlets and wiring.

I got a good feeling about the job when I talked to Mick McGuire. We discussed possible backup generator options, but his conclusion was "for the number of outages you get, it would be much less expensive to treat yourself to a suite at a nice hotel when it happens." It's always nice to find somebody who is honest without you, instead of trying to sell you something! McGuire's estimate for the new service and an additional outlet was cheaper than other estimates for the service alone. The workmen were friendly, very competent and did the job quickly and efficiently. They took a spaghetti sprawl of wires, and enclosed each cable in conduit, connected to metal boxes. They labelled the breakers in the panel clearly and legibly, and identified the bedrooms using the terminology I requested (northeast, southeast, northwest and southwest). I was completely satisfied with the service, and have recommended them to friends.

McGuire Electric lived up to its high rating on Angie's List. The job was completed in less time than they had predicted and so saved me over $600. The Electrician was efficient, pleasant and friendly...which is always nice when you have somebody working in your kitchen.

Mr. McGuire handled my initial call respectfully, giving me his charges for both one man and two man teams. I chose a two man team and was given a slot for a pm appointment (12-3) in two days. I was telephoned by the team a half hour in advance to assure that I was available. Matt and Dave arrived promptly. They first troubleshooted the master bathroom's fan switch. It was a burnt out motor. They told me how to obtain the new part and rehung the fan. Dave took off the old shop lights and hung the new ones. They made certain that all the bulbs were installed correctly and that everything was in working order. Matt and Dave worked on troubleshooting the outdoor outlet problem. There was a tripped breaker that was replaced. A new electrical line was installed to the rear house outlets because the connection between the front and rear outlets was somehow severed. New outdoor boxes, with bubble covers were installed. Matt and Dave were friendly, did not waste time, and cleaned up after the job. I was very impressed by the service. As a woman, I felt that they treated my job with the utmost professionalism. Highly recommend!

Came out for free to look at our main breaker that had tripped. Very professional and transparent on what they saw and provided recommendations to update complete circuit box if the breaker continues to trip but didn't push the issue.
