A friend recommended Davis Inspection to us, we worked with Doug Davis for our inspection. Highly recommend! During the appointment Doug walked us thru the entire home, explaining everything that he was including in his report and answering all our question as we went. He then provided a complete report (with pictures) which allowed us to confidently negotiate the proper price the home. We close next week!!

It went pretty good. The home owners weren't happy with the results and thought my inspector was exaggerating, and thought that he didn't know what he was talking about even with his photos to prove the problems. Some was minor, but the black mold and pest problem helped Us walk away from the home. The money spent was worth it.

As first time home buyers, we did thorough research and came across Davis Inspection Services with its many amazing reviews. We can honestly say that our expectations were greatly exceeded. Our call was taken immediately and professionally, and our inspection was scheduled for a couple days out due to our schedules. Our inspection was scheduled for 10am, and Doug and Craig were already on the roof by 9:50am when we arrived early. They took their time both indoors and outdoors, and provided us with plenty of information that we found extremely helpful as first time home buyers. Our inspection report was detailed and provided us with a bunch of leverage in negotiating with the sellers. Can't say enough about this company... They genuinely care about their customers.

This was my first home inspection so I really didn’t know what to expect. Doug was very patient and thorough. He took the time to point out and explain things. He was very candid about areas of concern and I very much appreciate that. The inspection and report are very detailed and easy to read. I would definitely recommend them!!

I am a real estate licensee. I have been licensed in three different states, so I have worked with several different inspectors. None have impressed me as much as Ric Davis. He is outstanding to work with. He really cares about the best interest of his clients. He is thorough, professional and extremely knowledgeable. He has a wealth of impressive experience. His reports are complete with regard to every detail, as well as recommendations. He is prompt with communication, and response times. Our report was less than 24 hours turnaround, and that was even on a holiday. There are at least 15 additional services he offers, so you can always be assured your are getting the best, weather you are buying your dream home, or purchasing your multi-family investment property!! He is now my go-to inspector for all my purchases. I highly recommend.

Ric is an incredibly knowledgeable and thorough inspector. He has also been very responsive and helpful to us in explaining the inspection report, and even recommending services for repair and remediation. I would HIGHLY recommend using him for any home inspection.

Rick is the best inspector in the state in my opinion.

My inspection with Mr. Rick Davis was very informative. He is a very kind and educated professional. He informed me of the steps of the inspection and what to expect. He is very knowledgeable about homes and property. As he navigated and inspected the home, he was focused and organized. He pointed out and explained the major issues in a way that was easy for me to understand. His detailed reports and photos were very helpful. I was so happy to have him inspect my potential home purchase, and fortunately he saved me from a bad buy. I definitely will be calling Davis Inspection Services for any home inspection I will need in the future!

Mr. Davis was at the property before we arrived. He spent about 15 minutes explaining what an inspection entailed and gave us options on how we felt comfortable with either following him through the house or him come get us to explain his findings. Mr. David was very thorough and detailed. He found issues but constantly stated that they weren’t show stoppers and which items were the most critical. Overall, we were satisfied with his work and attention to detail.

He showed up early and walked around the whole perimeter before we even got there! Then he walked around it again with us, to point out the issues he had found. He was very professional, detailed, and knowledgeable. Did a great job! The next morning we were emailed a color coded report to make it easier for us to see the immediate issues that would need to be fixed and the ones that could wait for a short amount of time. Would highly recommend!!!

We are very happy we had Davis Inspection inspect our current home prior to almost making some very costly (unnecessary) improvements. Ric was a pleasure to have inspect our home. We highly recommend! We've lived in our home for 12 years and wish we would have hired Ric to perform an inspection prior to upgrades 10 years ago. Ric explained his report in detail and has been available for questions after the fact. One thing not to overlook about Davis Inspection services, Ric will inspect contractor work (at certain phases of the project) being done on your home. Talk about peace of mind. We will be using that service in the near future. We felt very comfortable with Ric, he's courteous, respectful, articulate and an expert at his craft.

Contacted Rick on his cell phone. HBe was pleasant an spke like he knew what he was doing. He referred me to Kathy in his office to schedule a date and time. He arrived a few minutes early, introduced himself and proceeded, non stop, with his inspection. He would occasionally stop by and share his comments with me. The follolwing morning, I received a full report with substanatiating photographs.. A very thorough and comprehensive report. I am seriously considering using him when I put my house on the market. I got more than I expected and presented in a very understandable and professional fashion. The promptness olf his report was a real benefit to me.

We used Richard Davis for our recent home purchase, and were extremely impressed with how thorough his inspection was and how much time he spent with us in person going through the results. Rick also helped us understand the severity of each finding and what we could expect from a repair perspective. He’s also made himself available at no additional cost to answer any further questions we have as we move into the home. And combined with all of that, Rick is a great person with an energetic and fun personality. Highly recommended!

Rick does a great job!!! Very thorough and extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of a property. Makes great recommendations on how to alleviate issues as well. We always refer Rick and will continue using ourselves for our investment properties.

Anyone who needs a house inspection should hire Rick. Punctual, professional and very detailed oriented.

This is the second home inspection with Davis Inspection. As a home buyer it is an intimidating process. They made me feel comfortable with the inspections, bad news and good news. They went through the entire property and explained in detail everything they were looking at and what they were looking for. Mr. Davis made sure that I knew and understood everything that is good, needs immediate attention, and things that should get done to prevent issues. I would definitely hire Davis Inspection again and will recommend them to anyone that is looking to get a home inspection.

They had the result within one day.

Overall, I would give the inspection a “B” and the report a “C”. Rick was informative, answered questions and appeared to be knowledgeable, detailed in some areas but very general in responses for others consistent with his disclaimer. However, for a cost of $405 dollars, I am disappointed in one aspect of the inspection and several aspects of report. I have had two home inspections before and my observations below are based what I have received previously from two other inspections/inspectors: 1. (Pg7) Incomplete Roof Inspection… “…should be consider incomplete, areas prone to hold water, snow, ice expect leans”. Before I arrived, I had assumed Rick used a ladder to take close-up pics of various roof spots and had touched portions of the roof as a part of his inspection. I understood not walking on the roof because of concerns with the surface possibly being too wet/icy but it is not clear to me why ladder was not used for close-up pics of roof areas and touching the edges/surface to confirm condition as it did not require walking on the roof. He took photos from the ground and through upstairs windows, which was better than none at all, but I felt there could have been additional effort. I noticed a person doing gutter cleaning on the street, so the weather/ground conditions did support use of a ladder for a better roof evaluation beyond just the ground and attic view. There are areas in the attic that were too far away to identify a leak via just looking from a distance. 2. (Pgs 6-16) Although a separate file of pics (49pgs w/290 pics) was provided, they are not integrated into the written report where a specific observation is made. There are no any references (pict #s) written in report so that I am not able to associate/link defect or observation to a specific picture. 3. Separate Photo File: While for a few photos, the defect/condition was obvious, there were numerous photos of which I do not understand the issues (what is the defect/concerns in the photos?) since there is no description/explanation. 4. (Pg 1-29) The report is comprised of 29 pages total but more than half is general information, disclaimers, automated tips as page fillers w/only 38% (11 of 29) containing actual inspection observations. No helpful cost estimate ranges were included. • 17% Pgs. 1-5 owner/house info, receipt, disclaimers • 38% (11) Pgs 6-16 inspection/observation • 26% (8) Pgs 17-24 automated printout of various tips/suggestions about general maintenance • 17% (5) Pg 25-29 redundant summary/condense version of inspection findings (pgs 6-16 summarize) Lastly, Rick was a little abrasive in parts of conversations although I do not think that was his intention. Both my agent, another contractor giving estimates and the sellers (via telling his agent, who shared w/agent) shared the feedback. Abrasive means he came across as "cocky" in his comments or in one case questioning the seller about an observation. He actually educated the contractor on something, the contractor acknowledged it but did feel Rick was being a'bit egotistical in how he did it.
