Soma Electric

Commercial/restaurant: the POS printer in our restaurant lost power. We tried all the breaker resets, and every possible troubleshooting idea we could think of. I called Soma the following morning at 10am. He returned my call within the hour. He happened to be doing another job nearby, so he arrived at our location within 2 hours of our call. Within 3 hours of my first call, our problem was fixed and we had power restored to our restaurant printers and power outlets. I cannot say enough good about Soma. We would use them again in a minute.

When an estimate was asked for, a time was set for a few days later. The estimate proved to be the lowest I received and work began about 5 days after I accepted it. Phil Soma, the owner, was pleasant and accommodating. The work was done quickly and correctly. I would certainly use his services again.

The man was very pleasant. He did a good job and I have no complaints about him.

I called in the AM and he was there before 2:00 and finished before 3:00. He charged $105 less $10 for calling through Angie List. He is courteous, professional and charges fairly. I will certainly use him again.

Call was made on a Saturday prior to a holiday and was answered promptly. Service technician was dispatched immediately and was on site within 20 minutes. Investigation of the problem was thorough and work completed within an hour. Knowledgeable and extremely professional service. Plan to use Soma again to complete and correct work performed previously by an unscrupulous and incompetent electrician, and for any other problems which may arise in the future.

I have contacted this company twice. Both times they have replied right away and been able to come out the same day. Phil (the owner) is truly helpful and does a great job.

He arrived on time, and was very knowledgeable about what he was working on. He checked the outlet to confirm that there was no power, and then reviewed the circuit panel to see if anything was going on. After determining that the line wasn't active he traced the wires back from the outlet, and reconnected as needed. Very professional and knowledgeable. I would definitely hire him again.

Came out very quickly (within 3 hours of our phonecall) both times we have called him for assistance. Fixed the wire and replaced 2 other outlets with GFI outlets that were old and needing updating. Very friendly and helpful. Will definately use again for future work.

Phil came out right after we contacted him. He was here for about 2 1/2 hours and had our power back on and replaced two electricle outlets that had not worked for a long time. Everything went well we paid Phil and we were very happy everything was working well. Then later that night about 10:00 PM the same two rooms had lost power again. We called Phil back and said we were out of power in the same two rooms again. Phil said he would be out the next morning to take another look at it. He spent 3 hours looking all through the house and still did not find the problem. Phil came back the next day and with in one hour found the problem and had it fixed. Phil is a very friendly and professional, and tracked down our very elusive and frustrating problem. I would call on Phil again in the future for any electricle problems i might have.

I contacted him through Angie's list via the "make an appointment function" of A.L. He emailed me and called me the next day. And actually came right out the that day. He gave me an estimate over the phone, and it was even less that he quoted! He was friendly, knowledgeable, prompt, and very efficient. Tracked down and fixed the problem in no time. I will call him again for future work.

We contacted Phil by phone to enquire about replacing the fan in our bathroom. We had asked two other electricians about the fan and what could be done. Our main concern was having to go through our attic because we have blown-in insulation. The other electricians both said we would have to go through the attic and replace the entire unit. By going through the attic we would have had to replace the insulation where it was compressed from walking on it, and moving it around to find the fan. Not to mention how much longer this would take, and the difficulty of getting into the attic. Phil said he could just replace the motor in the existing unit and not need to go into the attic. He came out very quickly, and kept in contact while waiting for the fan to arrive, because he had to order one online (it took less than a week). We appreciated his honesty, he kept the price much lower from other electricians, and he was very easy to contact.

Phillip was very professional in every aspect of the project. He arrived on time and worked quickly to complete the job. He made sure our wood floors were protected while working and cleaned up the left over materials when finished. He installed a ceiling medallion along with the chandelier. I would use his services again for future projects as they arise.

Phil is incredible. Called him and left a message, he responded immediately and wanted to come over and take a look at the set up so he had an idea of the materials needed. He came over that night and we discussed what was needed. He then provided me with an extremely fair estimate for the services. He arrived the day after the Hot Tub was delivered as discussed. Worked through completion and got everything working. Phil then turned everything off so that when I got home, I could turn everything on and get the Hot Tub up and running. When I started up the tub - we had a 30amp breaker that kept tripping. I called Phil and he immediately came right over - ( This was around 7pm on a Friday). He and I worked together to try and figure out the problem, only to see that there was a manufacturer error when putting the circuit board cover on the hot tub. One of the screw covers was digging into a wire and causing the circuit to trip. I have other items that I want to take care of, and I am going to have Phil do those as well. Recommend highly!

Great experience. Rated him A only because there is not an A+ rating. He was on time and already had parts for the job. Job was done quickly. Very friendly and professional. It is hard to find electricians who will do the smaller jobs. I would use him for smaller and larger jobs.

Went very well as Phil didn't waste any time getting started. He was able to troubleshoot the problem by recognizing several outlets needed to be replaced. Also very personable and courteous, easy to work with; was very accommodating to assist us with additional concerns beyond his allotted time.

Phil did an overall excellent job in our home installing canned lighting throughout. He showed up each time when he said he would and was definitely fair with pricing his work. I would use him again.

We had lost power to many lights in our kitchen area. The first electrician we hired didn't fix it and we kinda fired him and went straight to Angie's List. Phil Soma was recommended and boy are we glad we met him. It was a very difficult fix because the problem was anything but obvious. One switch , one connection at a time , Phil finally found the problem after 3 frustrating hours for him. This guy is just the very best. He has extensive experience with these type of problems. From the initial phone conversation all the way until the last installation, Phil was responsive, friendly, knowledgeable, honest, and resourceful. He clearly loves his job, and the quality of his work reflects it. His rates are super reasonable, and he is so efficient. I

It went well. Phil found several oddities in the wiring of our second story. As well as a couple of items that "Took time to resolve." I had already spent over a day trying to get Lights and plugs working. Phil found several problems from crossed wiring to a burned out light bulb. Finally everything is working again. I would call him again if problems or new needs come up.

Soma owner recommended calling DTE Energy first, which I did. DTE Energy, my local utility, found problems at the pole which they corrected. Soma inspected electrical box after DTE Energy had left and did some basic maintenance. Requested quotes from owner for other electrical projects; including a possible install of a standby electrical generator and repairing an outside line to a secondary building. Was disappointed that owner replied that he was not interested in quoting.

Phil Soma responded to my inquiry quickly. He arrived on time and completed the work to my satisfaction. I would recommend his expertise to anyone.
