Advanced Safe & Lock

Emailed with Advanced Safe & Lock describing the problem. They recommended spraying the lock with WD-40...Admittedly, this hadn't even crossed my mind (duh). Anyway, I tried it...sprayed the lock after a couple of tries, still no luck! I decided to really soaked the lock and let it sit overnight. The next morning, it was open sesame...mailbox opened smooth as silk. The advice was great and cost me a can of WD-40 from Meijer. Appreciate the honesty and courtesy...both of which seem to be in short supply these days! If I ever really require locksmith services, I'll be calling on Advanced Safe & Lock.

Steve came in less than an hour after I called him and finished the job within 45 minutes. He was super professional, asked pertinent questions, and gave good advice. Definitely Mr. Right for the job.

My exit door to the garage froze unexpectedly last night. I called first thing in the morning & arranged for Steve to come out during a window of time between appointments in my hectic day. We discussed a few options and we agreed to replacements for two of the doors. He and his worker were very accommodating. They were polite, friendly, & efficient & I love having a functioning door back. :)

For those who skip long reviews – you do not need to call anyone else. Steve is THE BEST….FAST, COURTOUES and VERY REASONABLE!! AAA + Now, for those of you who want details, buckle up Betty! I called my prior locksmith in Fenton, and he did not answer or return my call for days. His usual mode of operation. I went to “Angie” looking for a quality replacement. I called…..and Steve answered the phone (where all the others called did not). He was kind and helpful. I gave him my huge punch list of things needed, and he asked if I could accommodate his visit that day, or at a time the next few days. What was ‘my schedule’ – not just his. WOW! He was here the same day! His work that day was both professional and friendly – just like someone you had known for many, many years! Now I know why he has almost 100 A+ reviews on Angie’s List! He did great work that day, but I also needed a lock for a storm door that needed to be special ordered, and a high-security lock too – to match others already in place. No service truck could ever hold all things possible, but he had everything needed for that first visit! He ordered the other item for me and was patient to return around my schedule – not his. I would highly recommend him!! He is very honest and knowledgeable. Bless you Steve for your help to me and my family!

Prompt, friendly, courteous, and timely service! Everything went very well! It turned out that the best thing for me was to replace two of the locksets completely. I was told what to get, and ran up to the local home improvement store to pick them up while he worked on rekeying the front door. Upon return, he quickly installed the two new locksets, and matched all the keys. He explained the way I can maintain them so they last, and we talked about other security measures I could put in place with some exterior doors in the garage. I felt completely at ease, and as a single woman, that's important when work is being done on the house - to feel safe and secure, even with workers present. I would absolutely recommend and will be calling again myself when I replace the garage doors so that new locks can be installed and matched!

Fantastic - Steve answered the phone (another one I called did not) and patiently suggested ways I could solve the problem myself - which involved several phone calls, my inability to send pictures etc. Steve was extremely helpful and helped me solve the problem with my safe door via the phone (no charge). Steve was early. In addition, he gave me a courtesy call to let me know he was waiting. When I answered the door, he was polite, professional and ready for the task at hand. He removed his shoes, without prompting. Steve immediately went to work and completed the job thoroughly and promptly; along the way, asking me my preferences. After checking with Angies List, I called Advanced Safe & Lock in Brighton and spoke to the owner. He told me he could come out the next day and quoted me a fair price. He called the next morning and let me know he could come early, which worked out great for me. He did the job quickly and efficiently. He was very pleasant and I would definitely use his company in the future and would also readily recommend him to any friends or family. It's so nice to deal with contractors who show up when they promise and do the job they say they will.

Steve was able to get out to our place on the day/time we requested, was on time and professional. He took off his shoes (without us asking), worked quickly, and was very nice.

Wow! Called and Steve said he could be over in an hour. I already had a dead bolt and door knob and he said he could use them. Steve and his apprentice, Caleb, were both professional and friendly. I called expecting to set up an appointment to have our front door lock rekeyed in the next few days. Steve answered his phone and said he was nearby so he would just head over right away. The service was done and completed less than an hour later! The service fee was normally $98, but he reduced it slightly and gave us the 4 free keys from the Angie's list offer. Very professional and knowledgeable, we will definitely use them in the future!

Without a doubt my overall experience accurately matches the high ratings. As a landlord, situations come up and you need quick, reputable and competent contractors - Steven Caswell is one of those contractors! He was able to service us the same day as our call. He showed up with his "Office and Shop on Wheels" and performed all necessary tasks and some additional items, free of charge. I also learned a few things about locks during his time spent. I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs lock work done. Taking into account all the work and time spent - his price was more than fair. I was having a problem with my keys working in my locks. I thought they needed to be repaired and/or re-keyed. Before he even walked in, he told me that he knew the problem. The locks are defective and the mfr knows it. He gave me instructions what to say to customer service to get replacement lock sets no charge. He also quickly fixed the other issue I had, Only charged me for the service call. I will use them again, and gladly recommend them. Steve cleaned up after himself, including wiping up the metal shavings with his hand. He was going to carry it out in his hand to his truck until I told him to use my garbage pail.
