Other than delays in starting due to weather, exterior preparation, and painting were done to satisfaction. Requests to repair loose nails and adjust siding were carried out promptly,efficiently and done right. Very satisfied with worker's attitudes and willingness to satisfy their customer.

Somerset Painting painted the exterior of our home and also added Aluminum trim to our gutter boards. My house was in heavy need of a new paint job before the Michigan winter began. Rick Hartsell was quick and professional from the beginning of the project until the end. His team is punctual, polite, and quality effective. Consultation before the project began was quite helpful as well. Our home looks so much better!

Rick was professional and organized from the start; he did a thorough evaluation of the scope of the work, including several photos of specific areas that need more prep. The painting was done quickly and his team did a great job with all the clean-up work. The house looks great! I would highly recommend Somerset Painting.

Excellent work, prompt, efficient. Rick made recommendations for things needed that were not even apparent. All done on time, with a handshake. A no BS guy. I recommend him highly, and he is returning to do some interior work as well.

We are originally from MI but my husband lost his job and landed a new job in PA. Although the painted trim on our house was in excellent condition I considered aluminum trim to alleviate any maintenance and or upkeep. Upon inspecting the home, Rick agreed the trim was in excellent condition and recommended painting using a high quality 100% acrylic woodscapes paint. He did not believe we needed to spend the extra money on aluminum trim when the wood and paint was in such good shape. Sight unseen I trusted his judgement and professionalism and withiin a week of my phone call he and his crew powerwashed the trim, painted both the trim of our house and the detached garage. He also painted our shutters - what a nice surprise! I was in MI last week and stopped by. Yep, it looks really really good. I'm already thiinking of some other work for him and his crew.

The painter arrived at our house right on time even a little early. We originally had them scheduled for one room but when we saw what a great job they did we asked them to come and do another room. The first room was a deep chocolate brown and we were amazed at the edging. It was perfect. We would definitely use somerset painting again!

I contacted Rick by email and he called me the next day to schedule an appointment to come and look at the job. I was a bit dismayed that he gave me a blanket guess over the phone, explaining that he had done other houses in my sub, and this was the usual price. However, when he arrived, he revised his estimate down due to the amount of painting that needed to be done. All in all a great experience. Of particular interest, he introduced me to a brick contractor that he uses occasionally (Nosh Vucinaj-Speciality Handyman, look for my review) who did some excellent work on my chimney. I am still deciding on the painting job, so a review may be coming.

Love the paint job! House and carriage house look great. Rick and crew were professional and conscientious. Cleaned up after the job was finished. Tons of compliments from the neighborhood. Would definitely recommend or hire again.

The job started on time and the painters were prompt and did a good job of cleaning up each day. I will use Somerset Painting the next time I need any painting done. The rooms look great and I couldn't be happier.

Their estimate was very good, but we didn't go with them. It was hard to make a decision. We just went with the company that was located closer to home and was a little bit less expensive. Our experience with them was very nice. I certainly was considering them.

They did it again! This is the third time we have engaged this company, and they didn't dissappoint. They were prompt (engaged them on Tuesday, and started work on Wednesday), neat (cleaned up each evening before leaving), on time each day (rang doorbell promptly at 8:00 AM --- could set your clock). leasant to have in the house, concerned that everything was done properly.

The owner is very conscientious about doing the job as you want it done. He goes over all of your concerns very thorougly prior to beginning. They worked in the cold and the rain so they could get the job done for me before the weather became too cold for the paint to "stick". They did little extras at no cost like powerwashing spilled paint (from the previous painters) off the porch and scraping it off windows (also from the previous painters). They removed a basketball goal from our garage at no cost and put up our new house numbers for me. Everything looked perfect when they were done. I swear they must have used a ruler and a level to put up the house numbers, they are so even! The bathroom paint had a problem because of some strange splatter on the wall from the previous owners. When we realized the sanding and painting didn't remove/cover the splatter, the owner researched how best to hide the problem and then came back himself to fix it. It looks fine now. He also came back to thoroughly inspect the entire job and make sure I was satisfied. Sommerset's prices are comprobable to other similarly skilled painters who gave me quotes, but I felt Sommerset was more thorough and just felt most comfortable with their company and employees. They are more expensive then lesser skilled painters, but I learned the hard way you get what you pay for. I wish I had hired Sommerset to do the previous interior paint jobs.

I contacted Somerset painting about the job on a Monday. They sent someone to look at the area to be painted Tuesday morning and started the work at 7:30am on Wednesday, finishing at noon on Thursday. They were on time, if not early each day. The cutting was so precise and done by hand. They gave us the option of 1 coats or 2. The hallway and rooms look great and we could not have received better service. The painter was so friendly, and worked hard all day long. We received a call the first night of painting asking about our feedback, as well as a call when the job was complete. I would use Somerset painting again in a heartbeat.

It went well. Painter asked how I liked the colors along the way, and was patient when it was decided that the dining room needed to be a different color. he made sure to protect and cover everything and also moved furniture when needed. Was willing to work with old paint that matched walls that need to be touched up. Every effort was made to keep price down, but to do a neat and nice job, and willing to add onto the original job (like the ceiling) for a fair price, when it looked like it should really be redone.

Painter had been to our house previously, and again we were very comfortable with him in our house. As before, he was very polite, courteous, and a hard worker. Had no issues of us asking him to do something. Explained what he was doing along the way. He even went to caulk an additional smaller basement window, but explained that it needed to be replaced and secured before caulking would be helpful. Tried to patch another small area outside, but determined it was too cold by that time for it to properly be painted, since the temperature had dropped, and it was in a shaded area. Very good, and very happy that all could be done quickly with just a phone call. Rick is always helpful and honest a fair with his pricing, and he makes sure to check up and see how everything went, and how the workers were doing.

Felt very comfortamble with the 2 painters in and around the house. They worked very hard and took short breaks, and sometimes not at all, in order to get the work done. Very neat, and made every effort to check with me to see how I liked the paint as they went along. Price was fair, and quality was very good.

Before they started work, Rick discussed colors and quality of paint with us.? The price he quoted was based on labor time and cost of material (his actual cost with nothing added on).? Removal of the wallpaper was the most difficult and time consuming aspect.? It was 20 years old and in some places it had to be stripped almost inch by inch.? They paid special attention to the surface preparation, doing it very carefully and meticulously.? Rick's crew were no trouble to have around, and considering how much of the house was involved, they went out of their way to avoid inconveniencing us.? They arrived promptly in the morning and cleaned up each evening before they left.? We plan to use Rick for more painting in the future, and we hope that Luis and David are available.? Rick checked in with them by phone at least once a day, and visited the site at least 4 times in the two weeks of labor; he may have been there more often since we felt so comfortable with Luis and David that we did not stay around all the time.? Rick also returned to the site to check when painting was complete.? All in all we were extremely satisfied.

I am very pleased with the way Rick and his team worked to give us an excellent result. They got it done in a very short time, even though the weather was not always predictable. The house looks great. All the rotted wood has been covered or repaired. The team was very courteous and respectful at all times. I highly recommend Somerset Painting

Salesman gave informative first impression, detailed decription of what to expect. Salesman listened to my requests and offered options. Timely quote was emailed with more explaination of what would be done and a short form for me to fill-out to make the Painter's more familiar with the homeowner's. Respected my date desire (which was my decison to have 3 weeks out from quote). Painter's had decent arrival time and friendly introductions. Moved quickly to get the project started. Painter's worked together very well as a team. Explained what would be tackled first, second, .... Made perfect lines on the newly installed chair molding in the halls. They had perfect lines between ceiling and walls. They protected my furniture and really everything. They picked up after themselves when leaving each afternoon. They kept a pretty exact time schedule. Every afternoon would tell me what time they would be back the next day. They gave warnings about the possible slipage on the papered floors when they were down. Paper was removed in the afternoon and even removed when they went to lunch. Very considerate. Hardworking. Willing to answer any questions I may have asked about. Never acted "bothered" if I asked questions. They just aim to do the job correct and timely. I'm very, very pleased in the finish product. Would have them back again (and I know how to paint !! but not as good as they do) when needed.

The job(s) went very well; decided to paint house exterior after new gutters were installed, primarily due to old caulk failure. All employees/contractors of Somerset Painting were very courteous, careful and professional in their respective responsibilities; quality of work was excellent.

I hired this company because I wanted a high quality job with no short cuts. In the past I had painted the first floor of the house myself, so I knew what was involved and the amount of work required. After the first day, I knew I made the right decision. The workers were very friendly and worked very deliberately and with obvious skill, and were concerned about doing a quality job, as evidenced by the fact the total job took seven consecutive work days.

I had a very good experience with them. They do high quality work. I liked how they were so interactive. They were kind enough to let me know what they would be doing. Since they were doing a repair up on the roof I didn't get to see exactly what they were did. It stopped the leak so they must of done a good job. I guess that their price was reasonable.

It could not have gone better -- Rick and his whole crew were extremely professional, greeted me by name every time I came home and they were still working, and treated the work site like it was their own home. The work itself was spectacular -- my 1929 home looks brand new!

For the second year in a row, Somerset Painting has completed the painting project at a condominium project in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Each year, we paint 20 units. The project went so well in 2008, that the Association was completely confident in awarding the contract again to Somerset for this year. Again, this year's work is going wonderfully. As a property manager, managing over 30 Associations, it is imperative to me that the we have professional and competent contractors. Somerset fits this description perfectfully. I have been very pleased with the company, and with my representative there, Tim Rottman.

Fabulous..first any questionable or rotted wood was replaced. Any cracks in the existing wood was filled with a premium caulk. Any questionable window sills weathered by snow, had a layer of aluminum placed on top and caulked, then painted over which blended into the paint. They used a very high grade paint and masked every aspect of painted application. No drips, extremly neat. Best paint job I have ever had. In years past, it took 2 days to paint our home. With Somerset it took 6. Very meticulus and detailed. I paid double than in the past whereas every 2 - 3 years I had to have a new paint job. This will last at least 6. Cannot be more pleased...thanks Somerset!!
