Amazing company. Very professional and informational quote- Kevin took the time to go through the entire process, even recommending larger gutters in the back of my home (another contractor installed the gutters). The quote was very competitive and included a free color consultation. Tim led the project and did an amazing job. He communicated with me often and he is a very talented painter. This is the second time we have used Somerset. We had our original lovely crew! They are responsive, detailed, communicative. Their quality of the work is excellent. Before we begin we go over everything and they provide a written detailed report of what we discussed and heads up on the cost if anything else should arise. No payment due until they finish and you are satisfied. One year guarantee if you should find a problem.

We hired them to paint the exterior of the house, replace some rotted boards and replace the gutters. They are not the lowest price in town, and there work quality was pretty good. However, they rushed to get the job done quickly and did not clean up properly. I found more than 100 nails on the patio, porches and brick walkways, in places where people will be walking in next week's graduation party. I had to go around the house picking up debris and paint chips. On the positive side, they were prompt, polite and didn't try to convince us to do things we didn't need to do, so we found them trustworthy.

Somerset Painting was once again to my rescue! We needed an ice d*** situation fixed at our front door and the ceiling damage repaired and painted before listing our house. Needless to say Time & quality work were both required and Somerset came through for us. The work would be called out in the home selling paperwork so everything had to be fixed permanently and looking good….BOTH WERE DELIVERED!

The job was done to an acceptable standard. The company did NOT honor their quote and instead bought primer at $50/gallon without consulting me, which drove up the cost by hundreds of dollars. This felt unethical to me so I confronted the one who performed the estimate (Rick) who also happens to be the owner. He was unprofessional over the phone and seemed drunk. He stated to me that estimates are just a guess and don't mean anything. If I knew any of this ahead of time I would've stayed away from the company. It's worth mentioning that everyone else I dealt at the company was professional. Blame falls squarely on the owner.

Our crew lead by Julian and Kristian (not sure if that's how he spells it?) was *outstanding*. For some people there may be some difficulty with English not being their first language. Work through it, your patience will be rewarded. These guys do good work and care about your project. On our project they made smart suggestions on the fly as things came up, and gave me options, and let me choose what to do. For example, there was some wood damage that we didn't know about until they got there with a ladder, and the initial plan I had for gel staining my front door was not going to look how I initially thought. In both of those cases and a few others they showed me the issue, were ready with good ideas, let me pick an option and showed me progress along the way so we could course correct as needed. I knew what was happening with my house each day and I feel extremely confident that I got great value for the price I paid. They also pointed out some work that needs to be done on some windows that I didn't know about. They are not a window company but now I know about the problem so I can address it before it gets worse. We had a pretty big project. I live in a 1920s home with stucco and wood board style siding. We needed a lot of painting, and varnishing / protecting the front door some woodwork around it. We also needed some repairs done on the wood trim as well as the stucco. We also still have a lot of original windows, some in great shape, and some in really bad shape, and we needed some light repairs there as well. Everything looks great, even better than what I hopes for, and I am so happy to have things fixed. I strongly recommend them to anyone who has a large exterior painting project, especially if it is a somewhat more complex problem that might involve some light repairs or determining the extent of damage and deciding what to do from there. I will also mention that the guy who came out for our initial consultation, Kevin, was great to work with. He gives very detailed bids and was also able to help me better understand the condition of my house and what options I had.

The whole experience from start to finish was wonderful. I received a quote right away, the renderings were a huge help in making our decision, and the end result is beautiful. Every one on the team was helpful, responsive, professional, and kind. Thank you for bringing our vision to life! Definitely recommend this company.

Awesome! The owner, Rick, came out two days after the call, provided a detailed estimate in writing later in the day and gave me a good estimate for the timeline. They actually had a crew available earlier than expected, so from the estimate request to job completion was a little over two weeks. The crew was great! Polite, professional, friendly and did a great job. They tracked down the cement fiberboard and replaced the damaged siding, did a great job painting and did everything we needed. The estimate was pretty spot on (we had quite a bit of work done not originally included). The final invoice was detailed and easy to read. From booking to estimate to scheduling, to execution, billing and follow up, Somerset was awesome.

I highly recommend Somerset Painting. Here’s why: Our project consisted of two parts: carpentry and paint. We needed to replace about 200 sq.ft. of second level wood siding which had deteriorated over the years. It was not an easy job, because the lower level roof cut across at an angle, so each new panel had to be cut to fit then hauled up and put in place. Also, about 3,000 sq.ft. of wood siding and overhangs on the rest of our house needed painting. Most of the work was completed in one long day, which minimized the disruption. This was through hard work, not cutting corners. Julian and crew were justifiably proud of the end result. The new siding and paint look terrific. Careful prep work meant joint lines that are crisp and clean. In addition, the paint process, which consisted of spray, back-roll, and follow-up spray to blend the painted area, resulted in a very smooth appearance, including under the overhangs. Rick Hartsell, the founder of Somerset Painting, took on our project with just a handshake. A deposit was not required. His confidence that we would be happy upon completion was a deciding factor in our decision to hire them. Our house looks like new.

We recently had Somerset Painting paint the exterior on our 1926 Craftsman Bungalow. We were very impressed by Rick when he came out to quote the job, pointing out many things that others did not. We can also not say enough about the painter assigned to our job Tim Mitrofanov. His attention to detail, care for our property, plantings and execution was stellar, and I would highly recommend him to anyone!

They met and went beyond our expectations. Removed wallpaper in powder room, primed and painted it. Painted all interior hallways, two sets of stairways with landings and foyer. 2 coats. Finished in days. When finished they cleaned our hardwood floors and vacuumed in-spite of everything be covered! Very professional, communicative and hardworking. A pleasure to have them in our home.

Work ultimately was great. A few hiccups. I would recommend for bigger jobs, but being a small job I don’t think we were a good fit.

Julian and his crew did excellent work and could not have been nicer. They really exceeded my expectations. My old and decrepit garage looks like a new building! I honestly do not know how they did it. I will be hiring them again to paint my house's interior and will recommend them to anyone who's interested.

I contacted Somerset in Feb 2022, received an estimate within a week and scheduled the job in early March to begin in mid-April. Two days before the job was to begin, I reached out to the Project Coordinator to confirm that we were a "go" for Wednesday and she confirmed. On the day that my project was to begin, I received a phone call from the Project Coordinator that the crew that they had hired was no longer willing to do the job and that Somerset would no longer be able to take on my project. There was no apology and no other options offered. I also reached out to the owner. He did acknowledge my email but still no apology or other options were provided. I cannot speak to the quality that Somerset delivers but I can say that the professionalism and integrity that I witnessed is 0 stars. If you hire Somerset, you may want to have a backup plan in place.

Excellent! Nick’s crew (Mike, et al) were professional, punctual, kept me apprised of the project, and the end result was amazing. I plan on using Somerset again in the fall to have them “fix” a painting job in my foyer by another painting company.

The vendor is very responsive and professional. We asked them to fast track our project and they were very accommodating. The owner Mr. Hartshell support a very noble cause and we were impressed by that as well. Hannah in the office is so nice. The crew came in on time and were professional and they did an amazing job.
