It went outstandingly well. Best brickwork repair far and above anyone i've had in the past. This guy was amazing! Could not be happier with the results!

Wonderful experience overall. Rick was prompt in responding to my questions and took the time to understand exactly what scope and timeframe was required. Overall, his 3 men arrived promptly at 8AM on the day promised and worked two straight days to complete all of the work. They took down blinds, repaired and sanded all trim, patched walls and completely protected every part of our home that they either worked in or passed through. The job was finished brilliantly when promised and they left the kitchen in move in condition, including re-hanging all blinds and returning all furniture to its original position. It is great to trust a company to do what is promised and not be disappointed!

Excellent job. Mr. Hartsell was extremely prompt in coming out to give me an estimate and once I hired him and his company, Somerset Painting, he and his painters (Luis, Scott & Jim) were out as scheduled on the scheduled date and time. They prepared the rooms to be painted by caulking, sanding and muddding cracks in the wall as necessary. The three painters were extremely personable and professional and did a great job with the painting. The painters were not entirely happy with one of the cracks that had been mudded in my living room ceiling and they took it upon themselves to take the extra time to do it again and repaint it. They cleaned up nicely and hung the blinds back in place upon completion. All in all a very thorough and complete job. I would definitely hire this company again.

I called Somerset in addition to 3 other painters from Angie's List. Rick was the most confident in painting kitchen cabinets so I asked for an estimate plus some help choosing a wall color. Most painters avoid choosing paint colors, but Rick jumped right in. He suggested matching a tone from my floor tile and he picked the perfect shade. The crew was very good -- accurate, clean and skilled. They were even able to paint the cabinets without taking the doors off. It took 3 days, then Rick did a walk through. At that point, we noticed some minor issues in the finish on the cabinets so he had the crew come back for an additional day to do touch ups. Not only did the crew come back, but RIck pitched in and helped out to make sure everything was done to his standards. I think he may have been pickier than I am. I'm very happy with the final product and it was a pleasure working with everyone from Somerset. They may not have been the lowest cost painter, but I definitely believe you get what you pay for. When it comes to painting cabinets, its a tough do-it-yourself job and I'm really glad I trusted Somerset with mine. They came in right where I expected for the magnitude of the job. I feel like I have a brand new kitchen without replacing the cabinets, so in the long-run I feel like I got a great deal. I will definitely call Rick in the future for my next painting project, and plan on having them out to do tuck-pointing on my chimney in the Spring.

Very responsive. Quick estimate and completed job within a week. I was very pleased with the quality of the work and Rick's careful explanation of what I should expect.

Somerset Painting did an outstanding job. Their cost was roughly 2/3 of the other quote we received. Best of all, Rick was able to estimate both the hours and the amount of paint required over the phone with a few pictures. We sent him the color codes from Sherwin-Williams and they picked up the paint in the morning. The saved me a considerable amount of time since I'm frequently on the road for work. The final amount of time was right on the money for the estimate. The painters arrived exactly at 8AM and went right to work. Everything was prepped, cleaned, and painted. In addition, they were kind enough to take down some old lighting and replace it with updated lighting that we'd picked out. The painters worked non-stop until the job was finished and did an excellent job cleaning up. I'll definitely be giving them a call when we need additional work done in the future.

Excellent company to work with~! Ricks' guy Wes and his helper did a stellar job. They were there at the same time every morning to do the job and cleaned up every day. He was very patient and really worked with me on picking out a color, bringing samples by 2 different times. I went with a recommendation he made and it turned out great and accomplished what I wanted - an updated look and maintenance free. I had kind of dragged my feet but finally made a decision and was grateful that no one was calling me everyday wanting to know if they had the job and when they could start. Overall - quality work, great to work with, highly recommended by me

They did a great job and the room looks very cute now! I bought all the paint and primer. The labor costs were $895. I am very satisifed and would use Sommerset Painting again. This is the 3rd project they have completed on my home.

Met our schedule by arranging their schedule to match including working evenings. We did not have to monitor the work as the crew paid attention to details and did a quality job. Owner checked before and after the job personally to make sure we were satisfied. Simple, quick and good.

They did a great job. Rick Hartsell provided a detailed quote at the beginning of the process and lived up to every commitment. The prep work was painstaking and meticulous. The work crew was courteous to us and to our neighbors. They willingly complied with our many "touchup" requests during the final phase of the project. While they weren't necessarily the least expensive contractor, I feel that I received good value for the money and will not hesitate to use them again.

I was trying to paint my ceiling because next week I am going to have a new carpet put in my front room. But after looking at the job I did painting my ceiling I knew I needed a professional to come out and do it right. I am very Happy with the job. I called Somerset Painting which I found in the yellow pages. When I talk to Rick that I was going to have a new carpet put into my living room next week and I was wondering if he could send out somebody to do the job (right). That very day maybe a hour later his painter show up to do the crack repairs and the painting of my ceiling. The next day the painter showed up to sand and paint the old crack area. Rick, the owner, was very prompt at returning our initial call. He was also able to send one of his painters out the very next day to do our project. His painter was scheduled for 9AM and was even a few minutes early. He was very professional and amicable. After about 30-45 minutes of prep work he got going on the job. Overall it ended up being about a 4 hour process including his immediate cleanup. Rick also was interested to see how it went and personally came to the house the next day to pick up the check and meet us. He seems very personally invested in new client satisfaction. I would highly recommend them.

Very well.! We noticed the work they had done on a neighbor's home and that itself was a recommendation. The brick person recommended by Rick did outstanding work in a timely manner at a competitive price. We would use both again. We have received many compliments on the work from neighbors as well.

Our job went extremely well and we are very pleased with the result. I was especially impressed with owner Rick Hartsell's quick response to my request for an estimate and his detailed bid listing everything that would be done, from power washing all the surfaces to be painted, to tightening gutter nails. He also suggested little things such as covering the individual louvers of the wooden gable vents with aluminum, so they wouldn't deteriorate and the paint wouldn't peel. (That was a big improvement!) When I made the decision to have the work done, he even managed to squeeze us onto the schedule before our vacation, which I greatly appreciated. His painters were friendly, polite, professional and very neat. Their prep work was excellent: The crew arrived a day earlier than I expected to begin the prep, and they carefully moved all the patio furniture, planters (including patio tomato plants in cages) bird feeders and hanging baskets. They covered and taped the windows, exterior lights, etc., so well, I didn't have to scrape paint off any of them. Our shutters were a concern because they were in poor shape, but the painters were able to make them look good in spite of that. When the job was done, they cleaned up their work materials and replaced everything on the deck. We had no problems with damage to our landscaping and no paint overspray on plants, the driveway or other surfaces. Somerset's bid wasn't the lowest, but neither was it the highest. I chose it because of its high marks on Angie's List and Rick's high-energy, customer-focused style. I'm happy I did, and I will not hesitate to call Somerset again in the future.

I called for an estimate and one day later was given that estimate. Two days later I called to make arrangements to have the job done.Three days later the job was started and on that same day it was completed.

Rick responded to my inquiry quickly. He was punctual with all appointments. He was very good about keeping in touch regularly and responding to any question or concern I had. He was right in advising me to go with siding instead of repainting the trim, and I am very happy I took his advice. The quality of work was excellent. He followed up on every detail and made sure I was satisfied.

Very nicely. On time, neat and friendly employees. Enjoyable to work with. Only thing would change is that he quoted for me to purchase far too many cans of paint which i will never use. Would hire again though because of the service and workmanship.

Somerset Painters arrived promptly at 8:30 am to begin the work day. Thomas (Tomás) and Johnny (Juan) were simply SUPERB! Actually, these two gentlemen are the nicest, friendliest, hardest-working contractors/painters who have EVER done work on our house. Not only were they extremely friendly and conscientious, they did an excellent job. Moreover, our house was actually cleaner after they left than before they arrived. Typically, we have to clean up after carpenters and painters. I can't reiterate the fact enough that these gentleman from Somerset Painters left our house cleaner than when they arrived. We HIGHLY recommend Rick (the owner of Somerset Painting) and Somerset Painters. Somerset Painting provided the highest level of attention to detail, the friendliest and most professional staff, and, moreover, a superb job. Somerset did an excellent and very professional job. We are very pleased with the results. We have had our home painted three times since we moved in, and this is by far the best job we've gotten thus far. Rick (the owner) provided a prompt and detailed estimate that was very competitive. He guaranteed the quality of his work, and used Sherwin Williams paint, which is top of the line in quality. His crew showed up the day he said the would and got started right away with scrapping and cleaning up the trim prior to painting. They repaired places in the trim wherever needed, and even took the time to replace a whole section of trim under a window which had started to rot. They worked a complete day and were conscientious about keeping things neat and tidy. They made sure that I had inspected a small test area to okay the paint color before getting started. The painters were professional and considerate, and did a first rate job. It is obvious that they take pride in the quality of their work. I was pleasantly surprised when the painter decided that the flat trim paint wouldn't work well on the garage door, and went to the paint store to get an eggshell paint in the same color to improve the appearance. Wow! they really care about how my house looks! After completing the paint work, they completely cleaned around the whole house so well that you couldn't tell they were ever there (except that the house looked great!). I would gladly recommend Somerset Painting to anyone.

Owner (Rick )was very responsive to our initial inquiries and called back the same day. It was this responsiveness that led us to proceed with Somerset Painting. We were extremely satisfied with Matt, the painter, who was a real knowledgeable and pro painter, not just someone who paints as a side job. He took several hours grinding the garage floor even though the concrete was only 6 weeks old. This attention to surface prep is a main factor in the success of any coating. And we worked well together making sure the joints were filled and levelled and that the surface had enough "antiskid" in it. The coats were applied with a roller and Matt applied them very heavily. The result is a super-luxurious floor that I can easily clean. It is a far cry from the result you get from the do-it-yourself kits at the big-box stores. Quite a bit more expensive... but you get what you pay for. I would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them.

Rick & his crew were very professional, accommodating & personable, not to mention the great price. After each portion of the job was complete, the crew leader personally walked me through the job. I couldnt be happier with the job.

I didn't use them because their prices were too high. Their responsiveness was good for giving me the estimate. They were going to charge an hourly rate. They seemed like they do a quality job but the prices were too high. I would probably not use them in the future.

Well done. Company offered services to be completed before payment. One employee who was planned for the service was unavailable, but another skilled employee was found. The work was completed in 2 days (3 employee work-days).
