Somerset Painting & Professional Improvements

I liked everything about them. They were on time and they were neat. They did an excellent job on the repair work and the painting is phenomenal. We will use them again.

Crew was responsive, did an excellent job and performed all that was requested. They cleaned up after the job.

Rick, came over for the estimate is a very timely manner, gave color sugestion. He also let me know that the paint was not figured in to the estimate but if I choose him it was on sale and should get the paint before it went off. I got the estimate within 24hr. and he responded quickly by email when I had a few question. I decided to go with Somerset, He hoped he was going to get to my house by the middle or end of June depending on weather. The house was painted the second Tues of the month which was great. The two guy's did a great job. They cleaned up after themself and when I returned home Wed. I had a new freash house.Rick, called after to see if I was happy with the job and if there were any problem. I will say it was one of the smoothest contracting jobs I have had done. Everything went just as he quoted.

Excellent. From the time they arrived to the time they left, it was a phenomenal experience. Any questions or concerns we had, they addressed. They filled any blemishes or holes on the walls from pictures, shelves, etc. They also cleaned and sanded every surface for painting. Everything was taped off or removed if possible. Rick called several times to make sure things were going smoothly and provided recommendations for other areas of the house that we were interested in having done. I will definitely be using them in the future.

The guys were excellent. I had a very short timeline for 3000 square feet of painting. They were fast efficient and friendly. The quality of work was impeccable and they were meticulous with they clean up. I intend to use Somerset for my future painting needs.

Brick work was completed first. Nosh reviewed the work, gave me a quote, and we agreed with a handshake. He arrived on time, and proceeded to work just as he described. Front porch bricks were replaced on 3 sides, and about 40 bricks were replaced on the front of the house. The bricks match very well. They had to remove and replant existing bushes, and there was no additional charge for that. This was a separate cost from painting the house. Somerset does a great job with making sure the work is done properly, and to your satisfaction. Rich was on time when he came to quote the work, very personal and explained everything in detail. Power washing was completed about 10 days before the painting. Paint crew was very pleasant, & professional, explained their work process and the amount of time it would take to complete the work. Paint crew was on time, did a great job, very neat and precise, the house looks 1000% better. Rich, cares very much about the completed work, and customer satisfaction. He gave me a verbal quote, followed by a written quote- E mail, and followed up after the work was completed. Rich, the owner, also recommended the brick mason, Nosh, to do replacement brick work on my front porch. Fantastic brick work, very competitive prices, and I am very pleased with the results. I highly recommend Somerset Painting and the Brick Mason- Nosh.

I was having an issue with water getting behind my siding on the side of my roof over my front porch. I talked to Rick from Somerset Painting and at the time we talked he said he was very busy, but within a few days he had his siding contractor call me to set up a day for him to come and look at the issue I was having. Wes was able to determine what the issue was and what actions were needed to fix the problem. Wes came out 2 days latter and replaced the siding and a gutter. We were having a graduation party the next day so Wes and his assistant made sure to be very careful working in the flower bed next to the front porch. When Wes left you could not even tell he was here. Wes was very professional and I would use Somerset painting again for future projects. Thanks again, Rick walko

This was truly a great experience from start to finish. Rick came out and gave me a thorough, detailed bid for the work. He suggested I purchase the paint myself because Sherwin Williams was having a sale and the price I could buy it for was less than his price. (I confirmed that with Sherwin Williams when I purchased the paint). This was a tedious job involving mildew, rotted wood trim, and a LOT of exterior trim to paint. It was less than 30 days from day of bid to completion, and I did get other bids before selecting Somerset. Workmen were prompt, friendly and knowledgeable about their craft, and accomodating to my schedule and that of my dogs. I would HIGHLY recommend this company and will be contacting them again in the future for upcoming interior projects. Thank you Rick!

solicited a bid on hardiplank siding. company sent a worker to look at the house and indicated i would be contacted. have heard nothing.

Rick sent his paint rep to look at the brick to determine if brick needed to be primed. Rick made the whole process very easy. His crew was very professional and neat. The job took only 2 days to complete. There was absolutely mo mess or damage to landscaping, etc. Would definitely recommend this company.

Matt, the painter, called to tell me what time he would arrive and again when he was on his way. He protected the cabinets and open areas in the basement with plastic and did all the grinding and vacuuming before putting the epoxy coating on the floor. He called to order the chip colors I had chosen and picked them up on Saturday so that he could apply them and the clear topcoat on Sunday. He arrived on time and completed the work and left the worksite neat and clean.

I needed the house powerwashed before adding new landscaping. Somerset did an outstanding job accomodating a job that I needed done in a hurry. Rick was excellent at responding to phone calls and always followed up on voicemail. I had a difficult time getting many contractors to even call me back. We originally arranged to try and get the job done when we had a rainy day, since a rainy day is ideal for powerwashing - everything is pre-soaked from the rain, and his outside painters can't paint when it's raining. Unfortunately, we ran out of time (this drought didn't help matters) and I was notified the landscaper would be coming in two days. I called Rick in a panic, and he immediately arranged for a crew to be out the next day. They got here on time and did an excellent job powerwashing the entire house. I had some stubborn mildew on the North side of the house, which got cleaned perfectly. I am extremely pleased with both the responsiveness and the quality of the work and would definitely use Somerset again for powerwashing.

My two car garage floor was in pretty bad shape. I called Rick Hartsell 's company, Somerset Painting and ask for an estimate. He explained how he and Matt would be able to sand down the cracks fill them with epoxy and smooth them down. After the epoxy had a chance to settle in, the entire floor was painted. This gave my floor a completely new look. I was very satisfied with the job that this company did for me. July 28, 2012; I would like to thank Rick the handyman and his Expoxy man Matt. Due to no fault of theirs there was something heavy put down on my newly finished garage floor. This caused a sizeable and noticeable gash to my floor. I called Rick Hartsell and voiced my concern how I was unhappy about the situation. Rick assured me for a small fee he would have Matt the expoxy man fix it. I cannot explain how elated I was to have this project done. I would highly recommend this team to do any type of brick, cement and paver brepair.

I had a very pleasant experience with Somerset Painting. From the quotation until job is completed, Rick was always reachable on phone for my all questions. They were punctual, corporative and did a fine painting job for me. I recommend Rick and his team for anybody for there professional work.

This company was great to work with. My interaction on the phone leading up to the job was very detailed and professional. They answered all of the questions I had. The painter who came to my house was right on time, did a great job painting and cleaned up after himself. They even followed up after to make sure that i was happy with everything. I was very pleased with the outcome.

Called the top five exterior painters on Angie's list. Rick was very personable and had the most detailed quote. The quote was the middle in terms of total cost but we appreciated his professionalism and attention to detail. He also was able to suggest a masonry guy (Specialty Handyman - Nosh), suggest some stone work for the porch and column work. Initially had scheduled us out three weeks but was able to squeeze us in the same week due to some changes in the work schedule. He and his crew showed up the first day to powerwash. The next day was mostly prep work and some painting. On day three they finished putting up the columns on the porch and finished the paint work. Huge improvement from what is was before. The even came out after we purchased new shutters to put them up. Great work! Home looks new now! Professional, personable, affordable.

I bought 5 hour of service for $199 for interior painting. Initially Rick came and gave the quote to paint bathroom and one small bedroom. After deciding the dates, he sent his crew and they were on time performed the job very well. I am very happy with the service and also the cost is very reasonable for their quality of work. I will definitely use their service in the future.

This may be a slightly odd review, but I felt I should put it out there. I called Rick from Somerset Painting and left a voicemail for him regarding an estimate for exterior home painting. He called me back within a couple of hours and said he would come by that same day to perform a visual inspection so he could come up with the estimate. At all times, Rick demonstrated complete professionalism and the high energy that several other people have mentioned in their reviews. His estimate was the most thorough and complete proposal I received. I ended up going with another company because they offered a price I just couldn't refuse, but the point of this review is that when I called Rick to tell him that I was going another direction, to his great credit, and my surprise, he handled the less-than-optimal news with the same positivity and energy that he had shown when he was still "in the running". Obviously, he would have preferred me going with his company, but I think that a great deal can be learned about a person's character by how he handles himself in a less favorable situation. Instead of a curt "thanks (for nothing)" and a slammed phone (which I have experienced in the past), he was polite and simply asked me to keep him in mind for any future jobs. Like everyone else out there, I have to keep the financial component of any home project in mind when deciding who to hire, but I can say from experience that Rick is a class act, and his contact information will most definitely be kept nearby.

Work was done quickly and very well, and Rick was very responsive. He also gave me some good ideas about how to better drain in some of the more difficult areas. Professional job and crew, and the cleanup was very thorough.

Nosh is awesome. I called him and he came out the next day and gave me a quote on the spot. He showed up promptly to do the work, which was excellent, and he cleaned up so well that the area looked alot cleaner than before he started. He also did a bit of brick repair work for me and did not charge extra for it. I have also hired him to replace my fireplace surround (tilework).

Rick did an excellent job from start to finish. He gave a very detailed quote, was knowledgeable about what needed to be done, and communicated well throughout the job. His crew completed the work promptly, and with good quality. Also got a good reference for a masonry person. Overall a very good experience, would not hesitate to hire again.

This is a terrific company. I asked for and got the "best crew" they had. They arrived on time, stayed until the job was perfect (not just done) and checked in later to be sure I was happy. It doesn't get any better than that.
