The work crew arrived as scheduled and did a great job. They kept me informed on their progress and did a wonderful job in cleaning up any debris. Very happy with their work.

As a follow-up to my first siding job Wes and crew did, I had them finish the house this time. I didn't want to commit the entire job until I was comfortable with the crews’ quality of work. Needless to say I had them back and they did another stellar job. I noticed the week after the job was done, that I had miscommunication with the crew. I had them cover an old furnace exhaust pipe that was right next to my dryer vent, and both were covered. I called Wes Sunday night about the issue - he was on my front porch Monday morning @ 9am, fixed everything and was gone by 9:30. This was after the job was done and the check had cleared. I have had other contractors that wouldn't even return phone calls after the job was complete. Since then two neighbors have stopped by asking for my contractor’s name that did my siding. Very happy customer.

Although I didn't have Somerset Painting perform any work for me, I wanted to comment on how prompt and professional the owner, Rick, was in giving me an estimate for services. He came out the very next morning after I called, took his time assessing the project requirements, and gave me an estimate before he even left my home. Ultimately, I selected another contractor to paint the exterior of my home, but I was very impressed with Somerset and would consider them again for future painting needs.

Excellent service beginning to end. The manager returned my initial within 15 minutes even though he was on vacation.Came out when promised. Started and ffinishd the job as promised and on schedule.

The entire process went very well. Rick Hartsell responded right away to my request for an estimate. We walked around the entire house and pointed out where there were any issues--mildew, rot, loose nails--and discussed recommendations and solutions to issues. Rick mentioned that they had a lot of work and weather permitting, could get my house painted this season. I was pleased that when I called to hire, they started the effort within a couple of weeks. I picked Somerset over other companies because of Rick's attentiveness, even though they were not the least expensive estimate. I appreciated the recommendation to clad the window sills for less maintenance. The paint job looks absolutely beautiful! Highly recommend Somerset Painting.

i contacted rick earlier this summer to bid on a siding/painting job, and after one of his sub-contractors came by to look at the house, i never heard anything more. so my initial review for angies list was pretty negative. however, rick saw the review and realized he had dropped the ball. he was very professional and apologetic and we decided to 're-start the process'. bottom line, i selected ricks bid, the work was performed as promised and i m a happy customer. my overall grade would have been 'A' if not for the initial problem.

If you want your house to look great these are the guys for the job! Rick came out to give me an estimate the same day that I called and had his crew of Scott, Eric and Mel here within 2 weeks. They did a great job and made me feel very at ease. They answered my questions every step of the way and kept me informed as to how the job was progressing. I wanted a combination of 3 colors to make my house stand out and we talked about how to make that best happen. The end result was absolutely wonderful. Rick popped back over when the job was done to make sure I was happy...which I really was! If I could tell you one thing about having these fellows paint your house it is - don't stress. After they paint the house don't stess if you see little spots that they couldn't get with the sprayer. These guys each walk around your house the next day several times when they are doing the trim and finish work and find even the tiniest imperfections and fix them. They are a nice group and I would hire them again!

Nosh is a master mason. He was prompt and professional. His work is flawless. I would strongly recommend him or use him again in the future.

Rick arrived the day after I called, right on time. He gave me a quote on-the-spot for the exact work I asked to be done, and gave valuable suggestions for paint colors and decorating tips, which my wife loved. He also pointed out some additional things that we should consider having replaced - but he did this in a friendly, informative way, not being pushy and trying to sell additional services. The next day I called back to schedule service, and his team showed up right on time on Monday morning. They were exceptionally skilled at interior painting, creating very well defined split lines between the different shades of paint (cutting the paint at the ceiling as well as when 2 adjacent rooms have different colors). All the trim looked beautiful and they did a fantastic job painting the fireplace. While they were there, we asked for additional work to be done and they accommodated our requests with no questions. I knew the additional work would cost more, but Rick was very fair when charging for the extra work and actually gave us very good prices for that. I found Somerset painting through my Angie's List subscription and I'm glad I came here instead of calling the first company I saw.

Excellent service all around. I contacted Somerset, Rick came by the following day discussed options with me and quoted on the spot. His crew was out the very next day and completed the job. Couldn't be happier with the experience! We will definitely use Somerset Painting for future projects.

Rick did a great job of asking me what I wanted to do, and explained the different options and possible solutions. He always responded to phone calls with 24 hours, and emailed me quickly. He explained that Wes and his crew would be doing the work, when they would be showing up, and went over installation, cleanup, etc. Wes's team did a good job of explaining 'what' and 'why' during the installation of the siding. The crew cleaned up nicely each night and at the end of the job. They started and completed the job on time and budget. They were flxible in making chages that we discussed during the job and overall it turned out great. Looking forward to working with Rick and Wes again.

The entire job took a little longer than we thought, but that was because we took a vacation in the middle of the project and I wanted to be present when the work was being done.

Tim could have taken advantage of my handicap and insecurity, charged me for, and been paid to do unneeded deck power washing. Instead, he gave me wise and honest advice and bolstered my confidence in my ability to complete the deck job myself,as planned. It was a delight to encounter a business peson who followed up quickly, was on time, knowledgeable, truthful, and respectful. In my view, a business person whose caring and candor saves customers money and time is an outstanding professional who can be trusted to communicate well and competently perform any job he/she is hired to do. Rick sent his Foreman (Wes) to look at the job within 12 hours of calling him. Wes walked us through the entire process, explaining exactly what needed to be done, how he would accomplish this, and discussing ALL of the details with us. Pricing was provided the next day, and Wes came by with color samples and some terrific opinions! We discussed pricing (what was included) with Rick, who sent over a detailed proposal including great information on how they would handle the job and what to expect. They started the work about a week later. Rick and Wes's crews were fantastic! Friendly, willing to explain anything at anytime, extremely careful of our patio, patio furniture, landscaping, etc. They cleaned up every day - and I don't mean simply at the end of the day - they cleaned up as they went, making sure there was no debris at all left, especially anything sharp! I had no problem letting the kids play outside or the dog. They reviewed their progress with us on a daily basis, and kept us informed of every detail, often calling later in the evening to make sure we were pleased with the work and didn't have questions or concerns. They finished up yesterday and I was happy to pay them without waiting for an invoice. Yes, they are that good and that trustworthy. I HIGHLY recommend them. We found them on Angies list, met with them, and never looked back. They were a bit more expensivey (not by much) but worth EVERY additional penny - which was obvious upon meeting with them! They didn't ask for any extras even though they did work that wasn't on the contract just to make sure things were as perfect as possible. Rich and Wes (and team) - can't thank you enough for the great job and we will serve as a reference at any time.

They showed up two hours early for the appointment.There was a lack of communication from the service.

The crew of two arrived on time each day (8am) and worked until 5pm. Job took 2.5 days. It took a little longer than expected but there were more walls & ceilings that needed repair before they could start painting so that was to be expected. Home had not been painted in 20 years and now the house looks brand new. Price was good especially since some rooms and areas required 2-3 coats of paint. They did a fantastic job. I have a couple bedrooms I was thinking of getting done later next year but after seeing the rest of the house, I will be caling Rick to do these rooms sometime this winter.

The owner Rick arrived at time of appointment. He was very professional, explained everything clearly. He emailed me an itemized estimate promptly, with a very good price. The owner Rick was a very pleasant person to deal with. My wife and I decided to go with another company. We certainly would call Somerset again.

From start to finish was easy. I was very busy at work and emailed questions and ideas to Rick and he responded right away. I wasn't clear on having the garage door painted and at the last minute they bought the paint and took care of it. They finished the job in 2 days and it looks great. I would definitely work with Rick again.

Rick was very personable. He came when he said he would come. I would grade him A for my overall experience but not so much for price. He was just too expensive.

I highly recommend this painter! Rick Hartsell, Somerset owner, did a thorough inspection and gave a prompt, detailed estimate of all the steps involved. His crew was friendly and very professional over the five day project. They carefully prepped (power washing, scraping, sanding, replacing old caulk and splitting boards, etc.) before masking and painting. They cleaned up well at the end of each day. And they were accommodating when we changed accent color for the windows halfway into the job. I especially liked their recommendation to sheath the bottom of our window sills with painted aluminum as a long term maintenance solution.Not the cheapest vendor but very fair. I would use them again.

Everything with this job went well. Fair price -- great job. Luis the painter and his assistant arrived promptly everyday and worked hard all day -- they were very good about leaving our property clean and neat at the end of each work day. When we had a question Luis responded professionally. If we wanted something changed or re-done it was never a problem. We walked around our property at the end of the job with Luis. The few final touch ups were addressed immediately and we were completely satisfied with the entire job.

Almost everything was very professional. Rick was prompt, honest and helpful during the estimate. The painters did a very good job with the patching and painting. The only thing less than perfect was cleanup (and that's why I only gave a B for professionalism). Still, they did a great job at a fair price.

Somerset Painting and Professional Improvements were on time and the gentlemen that came out was very personable and went thorough the whole quote and was very thorough at everything. They even presented a nice packet of information that had pictures, it was done in a very professional manner. They were just beat on the quote by somebody else on your list.
