I purchased a deal on Angies List. They called me back the same day and were at my house the following morning. Some of the siding was damaged but they were able to fix it and reapply it.

Any long term homeowner knows that sometimes things go awry during renovations. Any business owner knows that sometimes employees don't work out. I had used Somerset painting in the past with awesome results and engaged them again for additional work. This time things did not go as planned....BUT, what could have been a disaster, turned out to be one of the greatest customer service experiences I have had. Rick, the owner, bent over backwards to rectify the situation and did not stop until I was absolutely satisfied. Suffice it to say, that the end result was stellar. This could have been a bad review, but instead is a testament to one owner's commitment to do the right thing by the customer and stand for quality instead of profit. Kudos to Somerset Painting for happily, willingly, and cordially working through a tough situation and making me feel like my business, my home, and my satisfaction was the number one priority.

He promised me a written quote but it never came. On top of that, he sent two guys out to demolish the kitchen without telling me he was going to do that and again, without there being a written quote. He also insisted two or three times that I didn't have to be there while his workers in the house. I thought that that was so bizarre. I began to actually be afraid of him even being around me. It was a completely disrespectful meeting. I wouldn't recommend him to my worst enemy.

Rick's team did a great job on a difficult project. They proved more than capable of handling all of the complications that were thrown at them along the way. The window installation, carpentry work, and painting were all done with top quality materials and and excellent workmanship. The worksite was always nicely cleaned up when they were done for the day. Every worker displayed a professional, customer service attitude. Overall Rick's team came off as hard working, trustworthy, and extremly competent. My special thanks to Wes for his paitience and flexibility in dealing with some of our job scheduling and delivery issues. Thanks also to Mike for his expert carpentry work, all done with a friendly, positive attitude. If you expect a high standard of quality and professionalism Rick Hartsell is the one to call. We highly recommend Rick and his team from Somerset Painting for those comtemplating painting, replacement windows, or siding.

the experience was excellent. I believe within 5 minutes of doing an inquiry I received a call from Steve. He talked me through the issues and I had him at our location that day to do a proper quote. Their quote included their insurance certificate which was important to me. They scheduled our job within a week and concluded the entire painting in 2 days. They were terrific and very professional. I appreciate their quick response and attention to details.

It was a positive experience overall; the painter arrived when he said he would be there and had both rooms completed in two days. Due to the color I chose he had to do two coats in one of the rooms. I had to leave him in the house both days due to a family emergency and felt comfortable doing so. The only problem we encountered was paint sprinkles on the floor. I spoke with the supervisor about it and he immediately offered to come out to clean up. I had already cleaned them up so it was not necessary. I plan to have them back to paint our kitchen and laundry room soon.

Work began promptly after I changed the original starting date with a crew of four at the time agreed on and proceeded in a professional and careful manner. The painters were tireless in performing their work from repairing a stucco ceiling to prepping and painting the walls in two bedrooms, bathroom, living room and hall and including a paneled half wall.. The project took an extra day because they ran out of paint but was then finished as promised. I will be calling Somerset again when I am ready for additional work. They made a potentially difficult experience a pleasant one.

Recently had some carpentry work done by Somerset. Ron did a great job. He was very personable and friendly, and very easy to work with. The price they quoted me was great - better than other places I looked. But don't be fooled by the low price. The work was exceptional. The time spent on the job was very efficient, and the workmanship and quality of the work was outstanding! I recommend Somerset Painting and Professional Improvements to everyone! Though their painting is top notch as well, their home improvements can't be beat!

Overall very responsive and easy to setup appointment, but way too pricey.

Rick's team removed two existing 2 story columns that had rotted on our front porch and installed 2 fiberglass/marble composite columns. After installation they applied a primer and 2 finish coats of paint to the columns The work was done as scheduled and quickly. The work area was completely cleaned up. Rick followed up to make sure everything was done satisfactorily Their price was competitive

I contacted Rick and left him a voicemail. He returned my call prompty to learn more about the job. Although it was relatively small from my perspective, Rick said he would be happy to help out. The next day, I took two photos of the area - interior and exterior - and e-mailed them to Rick. Nosh, the mason, called me the same day to get additional details about the job - size of the bricks to be replaced, location of work area, etc. He came out to the house that same afternoon to do the work. I cannot say enough good things about Nosh and his work. He explained the job fully and options on how the job could be done, he was careful to prepare so that none of the brick dust blew into our house, and you cannot tell from the outside that there was ever a hole present. He was very efficient as well, the job took only a little over an hour. He took all of the debris and trash with him, although I offered to take care of it. I was very impressed. I would definitely call thiis company again as soon as I have a project that fits their skill set.

Overall they did a very good job and didn't take them much time. Rick was honest over the phone and said that the damage was not severe enough for the expense. However, my insurance company really wanted me to fix everything. The quality was good. I will keep them in mind for future house work.

They arrived promptly, and were incredibly professional and pleasant to have in our home. They did great work, were super quick and I would highly recommend. They did a great job and every time I walk into my house it puts a big smile on my face! I love it!!

Rick was very friendly and I think they would have done a good job, I just preferred to get a good coat of paint to seal the wood, then maybe years later make it maintenance free, and cover it. So I went with another painting quote thru Angies list

Last week's storm tore a vinyl panel off our siding, exposing the insulation and wall to the elements. Though the repair was not a major job we needed it to be repaired quickly because of the weather and possible future damage. We contacted three companies through Angies list and were very were concerned not to get the necessary attention as it was just a repair and not an extensive job. We were extremely pleased that Rick Hartsell, the company owner, responded right away and 2 days later the repair was done, the siding fixed. Thank you Rick, for helping so quickly and efficiently.

The wife and I needed the house pressure washed in a hurry to put it on the market, after dealing with 1 terrible company I called Somerset and they blew me away with their professionalism, their customer service, and communication. Even in the middle of November Rick was eager to tackle our requests and his entire team was great and did a great job. Our house hadn't been pressure washed in atleast 7 years and they did amazing.

I was very pleased with the services of this company. The process from my initial call to completion of the job was very timely. Rick came out for an estimate > I said "yes" > He said he'd call me back with scheduling information > He was able to get a couple of his guys in my house within the next week. The $895 was the cost of labor, and your paint is separate. So, depending on what you choose, your costs can vary. I chose the Sherwin-Williams "Duration" paint, so my total cost was $1170.52. The work looks beautiful, no drip marks, great cutting lines. The guys were able to get the job done in one day, and came back the next day for touch-ups (along with Rick, who inspected the job himself). That was one room - I have many more to paint, and it's worth it to give Somerset Painting a call!

He came out at the last minute to complete the work. He took a look at the job, provided me with an estimate then scheduled an appointment to complete the work. He responded to my phone calls and was able to finish up a project that someone else was supposed to and didn't.

Everyone at Somerset Painting is very professional. Yet they are very personable. The almost seven weeks that they came and went at our house, they became almost like a part of the family. When the weather was threatening, Wes always kept me informed as to when he would be back to work. We sent many text messages in case I wouldn't be home when his crew arrived. Wes had contact with Rick who spoke to Pete when it was time to do the second paint job. Pete called to confirm when he would be over to complete the second painting. The tear off went very smoothly with tarps put in place to catch the debris, and Wes and his crew carted everything away, and the area was clean.

The work looks really good, I live out of state but he sent me pictures and my renters said they look really good.
