They were punctual, professional, and very nice. Did the work in a timely manner. Was very satisfied. Definitely use them again.

After a couple of re-schedulings due to work delays at previous exterior jobs (because of rainy weather) job went off without a hit ch. The workers arrived promptly every morning as scheduled and were very friendly, professional and industrious. They worked through a couple of plastering problems and were very meticulous about getting the job done right. The plaster repair turned out better than I had hoped for. the painting also went very well and the end result was quite spectacular. Cleanup was also very good. The job did take longer than originally estimated but that was because of some problems encountered as they went along and also due to their attention to detail and getting it all done right. I would definitely use Somerset painting again for any painting or plastering work I need.

They were very prompt to reply and easy to work with the whole time. I was able to send pictures and video over text and they took care of the repair without me having to come home. I thought that our storm damage was going to result in a lot of phone calls and missed work, and Somerset painting took care of everything within a couple of days of my first phone call, without me missing even a day of work. So convenient!

He showed up IMMEDIATELY. Gave me a clear price and a date. Collected NO money until the job was done - and it was done quickly and to a very particular standard. After they finished the initially contracted work, they took over for a negligent, unstable contractor who walked off in the middle of a bathroom remodel. Nosh has been my primary contact and must be one of the hardest-working men in Michigan! He very clearly communicates details of the job, time-frames, and has an artistic eye. This is my 5th complete home remodel and Nosh is one of the best tradesmen that I have worked with. Very, very pleased to have come across this provider

I called to get a quote for replacing a portion of our siding be replaced as well as a piece of trim along the roof. The siding didn't need to be replaced, fortunately, and a small area on one piece was repaired with epoxy. The metal trim piece was replaced as well. The work was done well and looks good, but they were pricier than other places. We did have some communication issues with setting up the work which they called later and apologized for. I appreciated that they cared about following-up when I expressed some concern. On a bigger job I would get a quote from them because of their commitment to quality worksmanship.

We were in contact with Eric, who always responded to our phone calls promptly. They finished the work within the expected time frame and did a wonderful, perfect job. Their attention to details and quality workmanship is unparalleled. The crew was punctual and kind. Special thanks for the great job restoring the stairs. We would highly recommend them without any hesitation and plan to call them back for inside and outside painting jobs too in 3 months.

When we decided to paint the house I knew I wanted Rick and Somerset Painting to do the job. In July 2012 they power-washed our house, deck and sealed our deck. They did an excellent job. At that time Rick also recommended Nosh for exterior brick repairs. Like Somerset Painting, Nosh was professional, thorough and neat. He arrived when he said he would and did an excellent job of cleaning up when he was done. His masonry work to outstanding. This November Rick's crew did another excellent job. They arrived on time every day. They were polite, professional and personable. They did a thorough job of prepping all surfaces before painting. I am thrilled with the paint job they did-it feels like a totally new house. A day or two after the job was completed Rick arranged to come by the house and do a final walk through of the work. I can't wait to have the rest of the upstairs done. Of course Somerset Painting will be getting my business.

First the owner Rick came out and looked at my house and identified what his company would do. He worked with me on the timing of getting the work done as there was an illness in my family that meant I had to change the timing of the job. He sent out a very good pressure washer to gently but thoroughly clean off the asbestos siding to prepare it for painting without damaging it or releasing asbestos. He ordered the paint using his discount so that the price would be lower. Then Ryan and another painter came out and painted. They completed two coats in one day and came back another day to touch up and seal up areas and to re-hang the shutters for me. They were very thorough in cleaning up and careful of my landscaping. Then Rick came out to review the work and make sure that I was satisfied before I paid him. While he was looking at the work he saw that I had a problem with my chimney and called an amazing mason who works for him named Nosh Vucinaj. Nosh came right over and looked at the chimney and advised me to fix it before winter or run the risk of ice freezing in between the old wooden frame around the chimney and the deteriorating bricks that could result in leaks into my house, chimney collapse, fire risk, etc. He also saw that my porch steps needed to be raised up and leveled and showed me some blocks that needed to be replaced and tuck-pointed. He is a very detailed, thorough and skilled mason. He prepared a proposal to fix the chimney and the other smaller tasks, and followed up right away, getting the materials right away so that he could do the work on the one day when the weather was good as it was very late in the season. He and a helper came out and worked very hard from 8:30am to 6pm to finish everything. He brought very beautiful recycled brick, and the repaired chimney is a work of art. The house looks so much better painted, and it is a great relief to have the chimney repaired so beautifully. I think that although my house is small, older and has asbestos siding (I am on a limited income) the combination of the paint job and the beautiful masonry on the chimney gives me pleasure to look at every time I step outside or drive up to my house. I would definitely recommend Somerset Painting and the people that worked on my house.

They are a very nice company. I think that I will probably call them back in the spring. They came out in August. We talked about siding, windows, and so many things that we have not come up with a price yet. We are not sure what order we are going to do these things. They were personable, came right away, they were very helpful and gave a lot of good advice. He helped me with the planning. I would use them again.

Selected Somerset based on several characteristics: Wanted a single contractor to handle all of the job so I didn't have to coordinate different crews and so there is no future finger-pointing, should a problem arise Obviously, I wanted a fair price, but also wanted quality work that I would not regret. Somerset, while not cheap, emphasized quality. Note: some of the other quotes I received were for lower prices - but less complete Somerset did everything they promised. Crews were on the job every day, and quality appears excellent. Job was complete far sooner than if I was trying to schedule a carpenter, a gutter crew, and a paint crew. Some minor issues with communications (I discussed something with one person, but the message didn't quite get to the responsible crew lead), but overall quite satisfied.

The painter, Tom, paid attention to every detail. He sanded/resurfaced and caulked a number of areas to ensure a quality result.

Went very well - they did the work as specified. The prices were on the higher side, but they explained that they did a thorough preparation of the area to be painted (compared to other painters). And it is true - the prep and paint work Somerset did was clearly top notch. But you pay a premium price for it. They also back it up with a 2 year warranty - so that is a plus. Will highly recommend them to everyone. There was some confusion over painting gutters (realized that they were extra cost only after the painting work was completed) and payment using credit card. It is good to ask upfront and get aligned on those details, before the work starts. Decided not to paint the gutters (as the paint will not adhere properly anyways). And they took the payment via credit card as agreed to verbally before the work began. Through out, they had very professional communication to clarify and resolve issues.,

Rick had his masonry man call me to talk about fixing some loose bluestone steps and porch area. Nosh immediately contacted me and we were able to set up a time for the estimate. He came out within a day or so and gave us an estimate and educated my husband and I on what repairs can be done and are worth being done. We were really pleased with his level of knowledge and professionalism. We called him the next day to book him. Nosh was great at fitting us into his schedule when he felt the weather would be dry and warm to do the job. It took him one day to pull up the existing bluestones, clean out the old mortar, reset all the stones, and lock them in place. He did an amazing job and cleaned up after himself. My husband and I are very pleased. He even went above what we asked and removed some excess cement around our front porch.

Wes & his team showed up earlier than promised. They were very nice. The completed the work quickly and efficiently. When they finished the work we did a walk around of the house to insure everything was completed to my satisfaction. And unlike many contractors I have encountered in the past they left the house/yard as clean as they found it.

This job was done well, and exceeded my expectations. The Somerset crew and Eric gave us a superior product, and my wife and I were beyond happy with the paint job and repairs. Additionally, during our recent home inspection, he sent a crew out (even though they were under no obligation to do so) to "touch up" some spots that the prospective homeowner had requested after inspection. This was clearly work above and beyond what was required, but they did it for us, to everyone's satisfaction, at no charge. That's delighting the customer. If I have another job like this, they'll be the only call I make.

Overall, the quality is very good and we are happy with the work done. They returned calls promptly and were on time for all appointments. The overall attention to detail was very impressive. The only reason I don't say A overall is that on the last of day of work - the trim - the painter only put 1 coat on, whereas it's quite clear in several spots that 2 coats are needed. I got the impression that he was rushing it and was eager to get to the end of a 5-day job that he originally thought would be a 1-day job. I guess I will have to address the trim myself at some point. Not really what I had in mind.

I would rate the painting job to be excellent. In addition, during the painting of the fence I was informed by the company personnel that the contract did not include the painting of the fence around the basketball court which in fact was written in my proposal to the company. The company did paint that portion of the fence The personnel on the job kept me well informed on their progress. They were very careful not to have paint spray on to the new surface of tennis courts or the basketball court. I would recommend Somerset Painting for any professional job.

He said he would give me an official, written quote withing a couple of days. However, said that if I didn't hear from him, to remind him to do it. To me, it's never a good sign that a service provider needs to be reminded to do his job, so when I didn't hear from him in a couple of days I did not contact him. I never heard from him again and did connect with a great painter who did the job for a much lower amount that the verbal quote

It was fine. They did a good job. They had a pretty big crew so they got in and out pretty quickly. They did a nice job. They did what they said they were going to do. The price was fine.
