Somerset Painting & Professional Improvements

The vendor is very responsive and professional. We asked them to fast track our project and they were very accommodating. The owner Mr. Hartshell support a very noble cause and we were impressed by that as well. Hannah in the office is so nice. The crew came in on time and were professional and they did an amazing job. The entire process was transparent and easy and we would definitely recommend it.

Extremely thorough job! Exterior work moved a bit slower than I was expecting due to a lot of rainy days, but I don't fault Somerset for that. I'm really happy with everything and I appreciate all the care that went into prep work and touchups. Would recommend (plus my neighbors are all interested in having their houses painted too!)

Workmanship was very well done, Owner Brad worked with me to adjust the final amount it was still higher than I would have liked but more in line with what was done. I did not realize the estimate did not include the cost of paint (it did state this in the estimate, but I wish the person giving the estimate would have stated that the paint could run $800+).

To sell something that you don't even inspect the final product on is a tough way to run a business. The owner will come out and make you feel like their attention to detail is superior and matches the elevated prices they charge.....he'll then pass you off to his "scheduler" who will pass you off to a subcontractor and text you when that subcontractor doesn't show up and let you know she's finding another subcontractor....this guy will call you a week later and then he'll introduce you to the "lead" who's managing your job....the lead gets to check himself out and says when the job is done....it's ALL ON YOU AS THE CUSTOMER TO REVIEW AND INSPECT YOUR WORK....there is no standard here....it's up to you as the customer to continue to point out large medium and small or even glaring mistakes and say hey this isn't right...at which point you're thrown back into the scheduling mix and squeezed in at inconvenient times that will cause you to adjust your work schedule and life to accommodate. Entitled and oblivious business - BEWARE! You're better off finding a subcontractor for half the price and just biting the bullet on micromanaging them.

Very well. From the estimate, to the crew, to payment, and quality and speed of work it was great. My job was fairly straight forward with basic white paint on all walls, and ceilings done in flat and the crew finished in 2.5 working days.

I highly recommend Somerset Painting! I contacted several contractors to do the job. Other estimates I got were really expensive and some did not even include carpentry work. Somerset Painting has the best value of them all! They were able to work on our set budget. Brad came over and did the estimates and took pictures of items that need attention. He sent the estimates at no time with very detailed information. Steven is responsive to our questions and made sure our work order is set on schedule. Julian, Adrian and the rest of the team did the actual paint job. They are very professional and explained everything about the whole process. My neighbors were even impressed by the quality of work that they did. We'll definitely work with them again for future projects.

Somerset Painting did a wonderful job making our 30 year old English Tudor look new! Shout out to Chris, Brian & Gersom. They are the hardest working painting crew I’ve ever seen. We would recommend their work ethic & painting skills to everyone. Bonus they are the only crew to do carpentry work for Somerset customers. They worked hard for 3 days power washing, replacing cedar & caulking before painting. The care they took making clean painting lines was impressive. After they finished painting, they strung party lights around my deck. Completely satisfied with Somerset Painting. They exceeded our expectations. Will hire them again for future projects. We engaged Somerset Painting to paint the brickwork on our house to match the color of our newly installed vinyl siding. It was important for us to hire someone who was diligent about the prep work to ensure our new siding and trim was not painted or damaged, as well matching the paint to our siding. My wife and I spent a fair amount of time screening potential contractors, and based on the quality reviews and in-person consultation, settled on Somerset. As promised, the crew did an outstanding job in carefully prepping our house, as well as the paint job, which matched the color of our siding exactly! We couldn’t have been more please with results, and will not hesitate to engage Somerset Painting again on future jobs!

Needed gutters replaced and Somerset provided best price. Contracted work to Allied Gutters and the project was completed efficiently and with quality work. Somerset was great in providing estimate, communicating progress and answering all questions. Highly recommend for fair price, quality work, and service.

Somerset was very professional. They were very careful with the exterior plants and did a nice job power-washing and then painting. Beautiful job. I had a tough time trying to schedule them last year and gave up. But this year they were very responsive and communication was great. Will recommend them to neighbors.

Everything went quite well. I was given ahead of time a very thorough description of exactly what needed to be done and the cost for each aspect of the project. The final result is a very professional and successful installation of new gutters. I have no complaints. I definitely would highly recommend this company to others seeking similar work.

As a first time client for anything like this I had a lot of questions. Brad, Steven, and Kevin were very responsive and helpful. The house looks 100% better.

The gentleman who came out is Brad, he was professional, and we walked through to property, took notes, sent me the quote that same day. The price was about $1500.00 to $2000.00 more than any other quote I received from many A-rated Angie's lists companies, and that did not include the cost of the paint. Now I am no expert, but I have never dealt with any painter that could not give me the price of the paint included in the estimate. I called him the same day to go over the quote and to inquire why paint is not included in the price and why the vast cost difference in his estimate compared to other A-listed Angies companies. He responds that we pay our crews more money, and we have a solid reputation. So I went back to him over the next couple of months to see if they had any specials, and they would not budge on the price even after I called and left a message for him asking to call me back, but he texted instead. Now I understand in this day and age of technology that it is all automated, and people don't talk, but when you ask for a callback and receive a text, show that he is not interested in communicating in the right way. Also, I decided to check on the company, and Brad has no experience in paint or home improvement(I could not find information on the other consultants). On the website, they have a video that they make it hassle-free for pricing and estimates(not in my opinion). Still, they do need to change the video because it is dated, and Eric is no longer with the company(not listed in the contact list). But I do give credit to Eric because when I did complain to the office, he did reach out to me and was understanding of my concerns, and that is why I gave them a B grade; otherwise, it would be a D.

The team showed up to paint the exterior of our home, telling us they would for sure have it done by the end of the week. They completed their entire job, including caulking, taping, painting, and clean up in an entire day! We are impressed with the swiftness of a job well done and the recommendations the team provided to make our home beautiful!

Somerset did an excellent job painting the exterior of our house. The painter was very personable and prompt. The rest of the crew ended up being sick but our painter Shariq, worked harder and stayed longer and ended up finishing at the same time. We really appreciated his dedication to the job. We would highly recommend Somerset!!
