Rick at Somerset Painting was a pleasure to do business with. I'm in the design and construction business and i've never worked with a contractor as conscientious and as thorough as Somerset. From my initial contact/estimate through completion Rick was in complete contact. He responds to emails and text messages within minutes.

This is the second large project I've hired Rick to do and it was a great experience all around. The workers were prompt, cleaned-up everyday, and did quality work beyond what was expected. Any issues were addressed the same day or next day. My wife and I couldn't be happier with the finished work. I highly recommend Rick at Somerset to provide professional workmanship.

We had used Rick and Somerset Painting on the exterior of our house last summer and could not have been happier. Great service, great job!?This year, we asked Rick if his crew could paint one bedroom inside. Rick showed up promptly and give us a bid. We scheduled the job - but the crew that came was awful. They started out by complaining that they did not believe they were told to paint the trim. We had to call James, the foreman, and he came over and confirmed with the crew that "yes - trim had been included." ?They moved fast and were out within 3 hours. After the paint dried, we noticed areas they had missed, patching that looked shoddy - just overall a poor job. Rick and James came to inspect - and agreed the job was not what Somerset wanted to be known for. Rick promised the crew would contact us and schedule a time to fix the work. Well....the crew leader called, and starts with "Well, we didn't do that job." ?My husband called Rick. Again, we were told the crew would come out. Scheduled ? - but they did not show. Another call to Rick - the crew scheduled (for a 3rd time), we stayed home from work to meet them (for the 3rd time!) - and again, a no show. When someone called, again, got an?argument that they were not the crew that did the job, and the guy who scheduled the job was now on vacation in Spain. ? We were really disappointed. We like Rick and we thought his customer service had been great. But something seems to have changed at Somerset, and Rick has lost control of his crews. So, if you get the wrong crew, you are out of luck. Rick did offer a discount on the job by paying $76 for the paint - but it didn't leave us feeling whole. We are not overly picky people - but to be honest, we could have painted this room ourselves and it would look the same.? I think Rick has a good business - but I am not sure who he has working for him now. This?seems to be a new problem ?- and unfortunately, we ran into the wrong crew on this job.?

The company's estimate was timely, thorough and presented very professionally. I appreciate the level of customer service even though I've decided not to move forward with the actual service.

Somerset did an excellent job with interior painting and wallpaper removal. The wall paper removal was not an easy task since it was old, thick and had been painted over. They smoothed the walls that were rough from the wall paper and glue. Chris did an excellent job with prep and painting!

We had a great experience. We felt comfortable with these guys from the very beginning. They are thorough and responsive. Although we received lower estimates, the way that they described how they would fix our problems put us at ease. They are very professional and worked around our schedule. They went out of their way to help. We are so pleased with the final result!

Very well, great crew who were clean, thoughtful, friendly, worked efficiently, and performed a superb finish.

After some water damage in my basement, I had pulled down all the old paneling and basement finishing products from the walls to repair all the tie rod holes. We wanted the basement to have a better look, so we had the team from Somerset refinish the walls with drywall and paint the ceiling black. Rick came out first to see the work and provide a high level estimate. His estimate for the painting portion ($800 + Paint) was accurate with the final costs, but his estimate for the drywall was around half of what the actual cost ended up being. In his defense, we probably didn't get into as much detail on the scope as we did when the drywall guy, Ron, came out to provide an exact estimate. I thought Rick's estimate was a little low to begin with given all the work we wanted done, so I wasn't surprised that the final cost was higher. They also provided estimates for some additional drywall repair in the garage and to replace some windows, but we ended up going in another direction for that work. When Ron came out to do the estimate for the drywall, he was very thorough in detailing all the work that needed to be done and asked all the right questions to make sure everything would be done correctly. He even made some suggestions on other improvements unrelated to his work. He had to re-frame some areas around new glass block windows that were recently installed as the old wall panels had covered up the original windows. He also had to re-frame an area to install a new door for access to the water service. His attention to detail was amazing and he quickly completed the work with excellent results. He made very little mess and cleaned up everything well when he finished. After the drywall work, Luis came in to paint the ceilings and did a good job and covered the floor well to ensure no paint got on the carpet. Overall, a great experience and I would definitely hire them again.

Perfect!! And fast - he was done, cleaned up in under 4 hours! Very professional, nice and with great attention to detail. Chris, the painter assigned to do this, was polite and asked good questions so that he fully understood what we needed. He was focused and worked quickly but with skill to do everything just right - AND painted a door that we hadn't even asked him to do but he saw that it needed touch up and we had the paint.

Outstanding service. Second time we have hired Somerset. Extensive attention to detail and organization from initial quote to followup. The painter, Chris, was outstanding, very courteous, punctual, great work. Lou, the carpenter, was attentive to what we wanted and executed it quickly. Very pleased with the timely and beautiful results. Would hire again in a second.

Rick was punctual and very professional. I thought I had the siding for the repair and so a crew of two came out within 24 hours of meeting with Rick to perform the repair. Turns out, I did not have the correct replacement siding. The crew was still very willing to help and took a piece of the broken siding and said they would find a replacement piece and come back to do the repair. Within about a week they came back with a near perfect match of a piece and performed the work quickly and professionally. The repair looks great and so I am very happy I used them! I would recommend them to anyone looking to have siding work done.

Rick and him team at Somerset Painting did and excellent job painting my house. Since I was not able to be there, Rick walked me through what needed to be done using pictures and face time. He was very responsive to my questions and concerns and came up with great solutions to get the job done promptly and professionally. He also helped me match and select the paint color and was in contact with me though out the painting process. Rick and his team did a great job and completed the work within 4 days. I am very happy with the results and would highly recommend Somerset Painting and Home Improvements.

Went VERY well - Rick (the owner) was quick to respond to text/phone call and contacted his worker Chad, who called. He was very professional, polite and asked if we would be home for his visit. He was prompt, courteous and friendly. He surveyed what was needed and told us what he would do to fix it. He was back only a day later with the materials and promptly, quickly made the repairs. Again, he was professional, friendly and skilled. It was a great experience, something that we know we can expect from everyone on Somerset.

Eric promptly returned my request for an estimate, came to our home within two days, was so professional and very likable - pleasure to work with, quickly scheduled the date to begin. James prepared and painted both rooms in two days. James did a wonderful job in all respects. We are anxious to use their services again.

This was a good experience. I think it is important that the owner inspect the job when it is completed so that there are no loose ends to worry about.

Somerset was very prompt and clear in their communication. The work they completed was done very well with great detail. The bathrooms and stairway make a such a impact in our home now. We are very happy with the result and plan to use them again in the future.

Chad and the crew were terrific. They examined the situation and came up with a few solutions to the problem. Ultimately I ended up choosing the long term solution and the crew agreed with me stating that's what they would do if it was their homes. Thank you VERY much. Chad and his crew explained everything in detail to me and fixed it like it was his own house.

We are so happy to find such a great company! Eric was so nice to meet for an estimate. Somerset was the first company we got an estimate for our new house, but we didn't need to search more. We were able to make a decision at the very first time we met Eric. Everything was done beautifully. Crews are always on time, very friendly and professional. We asked for more jobs which was not on the estimate, but they did whatever we asked for perfectly. We have hired so many painting companies so far, and Somerset is the best we have ever had. We will work with them again for future paitning job.

Rick was very prompt with his quote and analysis of the siding install fix I needed. ?Chad was on time, experienced and knew exactly how to fix the problem. ?Wish I knew these guys originally (before the siding was installed wrong). ?Outstanding service. ?Will call again.

We had Somerset Painting & Professional Improvements paint many of our ceilings in our 3000 sq ft home. The job took several days. Chris and Jim always arrived on time and were very polite. When we pointed out potential issues with the work, they were quick to resolve the issues to our satisfaction. They always went the extra mile to make sure we were satisfied. We had a fluorescent light fixture in the kitchen that we planned to replace but couldn't do it prior to their arrival. They were able to get an electrical contractor to come out in short order and install a fixture that we purchased for a reasonable price before finishing the kitchen ceiling. They were a joy to have in our home. The ceilings look great. They were awesome!!! We'll be contacting them in the future for more home improvement work.

They had to cancel the original appt, but came the next day. Jim came a little after 10am (the appt. time). He first looked at the needed repair, and then said that it didn't look like he'd be able to perform the repair because it wasn't his specialty. He then spoke with someone from Somerset and they walked him through what he needed to do. Jim was very polite throughout this process, btw. After doing some demo work, he had to go to Home Depot to get supplies. 45 min. later, he was back and went to work. He finished the job within the estimated time of completion. We were satisfied with the results.

We were very happy with the work. Once we got the work scheduled they showed up on time, and finished when they said they would. The workers were professional and invited us to ask questions. Would definitely hire them again. The house looked better than we had hoped for, should have done it a few years earlier :)

The job was handled very professionally. The painter handled the task without any issues. The job was completed to our expectations and within the timeframe stated. I recommend Somerset Painting and their team!

We reached out to the company after we had a flood and subsequent plumbing work done in our basement. Eric was quickly (within a few days of calling) and was on time for the estimate. He very thoroughly walked us through what they could do and talked with us about how best to work with the insurance company. There was no pressure at all in the estimate process and we were thoroughly impressed. As this was about 8 days before Christmas and we were really hoping to have all the repair work done before the holidays Eric even reached out to his staff to see if anyone would be willing to work the week of Christmas despite the office being closed (before we even decided to go with them). Once we finalized everything the painter showed up on time Monday morning, did a very complete job cleaning/prepping (the plumbers had not done so), even suggesting adding some additional concrete to a low spot in the floor so that the drain would function better. He was even able to run out, grab the materials and do the repair without pushing our job timeline back. He checked in with us every step of the way, made sure we were happy with any decisions (from paint color to drywall etc.) and completed the job on time. All in all we were very happy with the work, the level of professionalism, and the ability to work with us on scheduling and insurance. Since the repair was as pass through cost to the insurance and I've never had this type of work done before I didn't rate price but it was about 350-400 square feet of basement floor plus block exterior walls and drywall interior walls and I will point out that materials were charged at cost, no automatic markup which was refreshing. Overall we were very happy with the whole process and would highly recommend them and use them again.
