Brad Ellison provided a very detailed estimate for my project. It includes painting my 2nd floor railing painting on my porch, Completed last month and full house painting in the spring. Luis did a fabulous job of my porch painting. Excellent quality and price.

I hired them for exterior painting. Everything from the salesperson (Brad) to the painting was a delight. No question they are a little more expensive than others, but you get what you pay for. I gave the cost a "B" review to be totally honest, but I have no regret about spending the money. It started with Brad, who explained everything and did a walk through. I received a detailed estimate and explanations for everything. Before my job was to start, I received a message from Tim, the painter. We met up one day, walked around, confirmed what I'll have done, and discussed the startup given the storms we were having. Tim was terrific, very thorough and easy to talk with. We even had a minor miscommunication; he made changes promptly and with a terrific attitude. I can't recommend this company enough. I will definitely use them again in the future.

I couldn't be happier with the results from Somerset. The paint on the siding of my house was chipping and peeling off and they were able to scrape/sand it back to looking new. I manage my rental property from across the country and their reps were very helpful in guiding me through the process. They went above and beyond by communicating directly with my tenant to work around his schedule. Their work easily doubled my investment by increasing the value of my home. Hands down I would recommend to anyone.

From their estimator and customer service rep, to the team who painted our home, we were thrilled with their professionalism and the quality job they delivered in a timely manner. Had to have them back numerous times to correct sloppy lines, bubbling caulk & areas they missed!

It not only took twice as long and they said it would, but I am still waiting for them to fix the issue with the worked that was done. My ceiling now looks worst that before they fixed it. The cracks in the pictures goes across the entire ceiling in three different locations in living room and kitchen.

Representative did a fine job arriving on time each day; cleaned up after himself; didn't take smoke or phone breaks; just worked. Polite, helpful, and most importantly capable worker. We were very pleased with the results.

I had Louisiana Pacific siding on my house, so I knew at some point I would have to replace it. While it was holding up remarkably well, a piece did get knocked off on the chimney and I decided it was time to replace the siding. I also wanted the trim painted and any bad boards replaced. I had gotten quotes from several companies in the past, but felt like Somerset Painting and Home Improvement was the only company that could do the complete job. I worked with Rick from Somerset to get an updated quote. The job was originally scheduled to start in August, but I agreed to wait to allow them to complete another job. The first part of the job was to replace any bad boards and paint the trim. Austin and George did a great job, and this was during November. My son and I did a video of the work and I couldn’t find any quality issues. Next was the siding removal/replacement. Marvin was the main installer. While he did have a helper at times, he did much of the work by himself. Marvin can be difficult to understand, but the quality of his work is excellent. He was quick to point out issues and suggest corrections. Again, most of this work was done over the winter months, but Marvin did not disappoint. We did have an issue that caused a problem inside the house, but Somerset made it right. The last part was caulking and touch-up painting with Nick. He was another excellent worker with a great eye for detail and superior customer service. We did a final walkthrough with Nick and everything looked great. Overall, I am very satisfied with the entire Somerset team. While it wasn’t the least expensive quote, you get what you pay for. The one thing I would do differently is waiting until after the winter to start the project, as the weather delays made the entire job much longer. I highly recommend Somerset Painting and Home Improvement for your next home project.

Courtney Markoff was patient in reviewing paint color options with us, and helping us to consider other color options beyond the initial neutral choices. Although we had an idea of what we wanted, she was very helpful in coaching us on how best to narrow the color choices down to find our favorite colors for this project quickly. Although we are on the far side of Somerset’s service area, Courtney worked with us to discuss colors on site after my working hours, which made it convenient. The painters did a great job painting the exterior of our home. The overall price was reasonable for painting all the siding, shingles, woodwork, and gutters around the house plus a decorative section on a peak over the garage. They did a good job of cleaning up afterwards as well. Rick also referred me to a masonry expert who performed a repair on the stonework section of our home and provided an estimate for brick walkway work in the future. So overall, it went very well.

Terrible. I should have known when I met the project manager and he said he was leaving the state. I let him talk me into seni-transparent stain, when I told him that I wanted transparent stain. Made me do the work finding samples of colors, then the painters changed the brand when they got to the job. They have made a $19,000 cedar deck look like a clown's house. Bright orange. I contacted the PM and he said there was nothing he could do. No its 2 years later and the deck stain is zhas peeled about 50% away. I'm embarrassed to have people over in the summer because of how my home now looks. I would never hire again. NO follow-up. POOR QUALITY?

We had Somerset paint our house in 2016. We had some areas that needed to be repainted and Somerset honored their 3 year warranty. Kevin was very accommodating and thorough. He fit us in to a very tight schedule.

Excellent work on all three jobs. Would highly recommend and hire again. The crews were extremely easy to work with, very professional and started and finished on time and on budget.

They show to serve Fenton via Angie's List, but do not. They set the appointment to estimate, but cancelled a day/two later once they realized the zip code. Were professional in website and emails, and have a great schedule system for estimates. Have wonderful reviews, just sad they refused the work

Everything came out beautifully; the family room looks like new where before it was very dated and tired. Our team was overseen by Cris who was a pleasure to work with in terms of attention to detail, responsiveness, professionalism and an exceptionally pleasant attitude. The company owner, Rick, is a gentleman and cares very much about the quality his company produces and treats his customers as though they are valued and respected. The pricing was very fair compared to other estimates.

I doubt if this outfit even owns a paint brush. They sub -contracted everything at my house. Their communication with their subs is horrible. I don't think that Somerset even set out a company representative to inspect the work. While I dealt very little with the subs, my wife said one of them was very rude.. They never did complete the wood restoration nor did they replace the light fixtures they removed for painting. Don't let them fool you about payment. They started sending invoices long before the work was complete. In fact it is still not complete since the light fixtures and wood repair are unfinished. But I got tired of them bugging me for payment and their poor coomunication.. Part of the job cost was materials. They ordered a lot excess materials for which I had to pay. I have used many contractors in the past and I would advise you look elsewhere since these guys are no better than anyone else out there but are more costly. I am sorry I relied on Angies List for this selection of a contractor.

When we called Somerset we needed to repaint the interior of our house - it required a great deal of repair work to the walls, moulding, and trim in almost every room combined with a very tight timeline. Rick was right on time for our first appointment, he wasn’t phased by any part of the challenges, and calmly explained the level of repairs, prep, and craftsmanship I expected was their standard. After we reviewed the pricing, he promptly sent over a proposal in writing with all the details of their standards itemized and guaranteed. On day one I met the team foremen Nick and Milos - they’ll attest that I was very apprehensive - it seemed too good to be true. All my tension had faded by mid-day from the amount of work they had already put forth, and things they had noticed on their own vs what I had pointed out during the first meeting. The amount of care, professionalism, and attention to detail made it clear they were true experts treating this as if it were their own home. Further, the extra effort they put in to communicate with me while I was at work, and keep the project on track to completion in time despite the inevitable surprises was above and beyond. Everyone was on time every day, they showed exceptional courtesy to our home and neighborhood, and they delivered a truly perfect job. This is a group of consummate professionals. I would recommend them to anyone, and will definitely hire them again. The level of integrity and professionalism they bring is exceedingly rare.

Great! Tim arrived on time and immediately began assessing our needs and expectations. He worked painstakingly, long hours repairing our ceilings, walls and window sills before painting our guest room, office, living room, dining room and kitchen. After restoring our home to its “like-new” condition, Tim cleaned up all surfaces and reviewed the entire job with us looking for any “flaws” that might be found. It was obvious that Tim’s goal was to assure that we were completely satisfied with his work, and he put in extra time and effort to make sure we were happy with the end product. We are thrilled with the results and have already recommended Somerset Painters to our friends! Would definitely use them again.

I had high hopes for Somerset painting. Their contract implies a detail oriented company who believes that preparation is key, and to that end, promise preparation and "hand sanding all woodwork being painted...all glossy surfaces must be scuffed to insure a bond...," "removing hardware including striker plates, door handles, and electrical covers," "drop ceiling fixtures," "repair severe dings in painted doors, trim and base using Bondo," "caulk all your seams as necessary." The quotes are directly from the contract we agreed to. This was a job that had two different crews assigned; and both crews made the same mistakes. Somerset painting relies on the use of subcontractors. There was no QA person actually overseeing the job, and that is were things went very wrong. My sense was that both sets of subcontractors were more interested in getting the job done quickly rather than thoroughly. The lack of "eyes on the job" means the painters do want they want, how they want, without oversight. Somerset painting relies on return visits for "touch ups" rather than getting it right the first time. I appreciate the owner inspecting and apologizing for the work. But, there is a disconnect between the "management" and the actual painters to the point that the front office offered to send back out the team of painters responsible for most of my grief to fix errors. So, what actually happened...If you walked into my house you would say it looked great; nice neutral color palate, freshly painted trim. But, the devil is in the details. It took their QA guy, three or four visits, and additional days of work to re-sand, repaint, and re-caulk. My previously painted white alkyl trim was covered with white latex, without any prep despite the fact that I asked for oil based trim paint. There are areas I can scrape the latex off with my finger nail. I basically got a white wash job. I am, two months after the completion of the job, finding door and window casings not completely painted, drips on walls and six panel doors. I have spent that last two months removing, cleaning, and replacing painted hinges, door knobs and striker plates. I haven't even started my floors yet. During the job, either my husband or I were present. I did, in real time, ask for remedial action from the painters if something was not done right. But, I was put in the uncomfortable position of trying to manage their work; around my going to and coming from my own work. Lastly, the most obvious faux pas: Paint and energy drink spills that required carpet replacement. Paint cans left on carpeting, open, without so much as a drop cloth underneath at the end of the day. A toilet plugged up. Bathroom sinks used for paint brush rinse out. Paint spots on the decking going into and out of my house; paint spilled in the garage where empty cans of paint were placed.
