One reviewer on here complained that the owner (Ed) is extremely talkative, and that is definitely true. If that doesn't bother you, however, I highly recommend this company. He was friendly, professional, found where the leak was and repaired it quickly. He swapped out the power cord from our old disposal unit (which was still in perfectly good condition) instead of charging us $18 for a new one. Both myself and my husband were home at the time and he was just as interested in explaining what was going on to me as he was to my husband, which is not always the case (sometimes service providers seem to wait until the male member of the household is available and talk to him about it instead of me). After working with a few other plumbers over the years, we have finally found a company that we will be happy to hire again if the need arises.
Description of Work: Located and replaced a leaky pipe behind the under skink cabinet wall in our kitchen, replaced a cracked & leaky garbage disposal unit.

The plumber showed up on time, and did a great job of removing a stubborn, old, leaky garbage disposal and replacing with new (we provided new). This was the initial service which we retained him for- but the day before, our tenant informed us of an issue with the bathroom faucet in our rental unit. When we called the morning of the scheduled service, they were able to work us in for a service call at the rental unit (less than half-mile away)- which was great, because it turned out that the faucet needed full replacement, not just repair. Overall they were friendly, communicative, responsive, and kindly answered random questions I had about plumbing. :)

To preface, I called Sinks to Sewers for a second opinion on this repair. The first guy I called was a handyman who cut a hole in my ceiling to inspect, then informed me a repair would only temporarily fix the problem and I would need to remove my fiberglass shower and replace it with a tile shower. Ed was busy at the warehouse, and showed up a few minutes late. However, someone from the office called to tell me he got tied up at the warehouse. I didn't find this to be an issue and thought it was a nice touch to get the call to inform me when they were expecting him to be here. He got right to work when he arrived and quickly came to the conclusion that this would be an easy, inexpensive repair. He even said he would have enough time to do it right away (despite only being a call for an estimate). The problem was a seal that hadn't been installed correctly, and he had it rectified in about 20 minutes. He covered the drain and filled the shower basin with water, then removed the drain cover to ensure it wouldn't leak with excessive water in the pipes. His quick analysis and repair was great! My only issue with the entire process was that I had to wait a week for an appointment, which is the reason I gave them a B for responsiveness. However, I realize that someone who does good work must be pretty busy, so you may find it worth the wait.

Work is always done in a timely and professional way. They're good at answering my questions and willing to provide options for various repair approaches They "go the extra mile" and provide some small service I didn't ask (or pay for) and that's much appreciated. It's a family operation and usually quite busy, so sometimes they're a little hard to contact (leave a message, they always call back) but really they've been my favorite part of home repair over the last 6 or 8 years.

It went fairly well, they did a lot of work, were here almost all day. A helper broke a faucet that wasn't intended for replacement, the owner made good on that at no cost to me. A copper nut cracked a few weeks later, the owner Ed came right out and replaced it. He blamed cheap Chinese parts. He seems to be a very honest man. I do have a problem though. The pipes were clamped very tightly to the underside of my joists, I have a full basement. The hot water pipe to the bathroom runs nearly the full length of the house. That pipe is so tightly clamped that it creaks, crunge, crunge, crunge as it warms and expands. New to copper piping, I asked others who had lived with it for a while. None of them said it was like living in a large wooden bell when the hot water was turned on. I told Ed about he, he told me to fix it myself. Cool down of the pipes takes a while, the crunging sound occurs at a slower and softer rate. I've waited a couple years thinking the pipes would wear into the wood and the noise would stop. Think I'll try silicone spray. I could pull all the hangers and pound them into the other side of the joists I suppose.

He was punctual, friendly, and eager to fix or problem. His on-the-spot estimate turned out to be accurate, give or take 10% (it actually turned out less than the estimate). He was chatty while also being professional. The clarity of his explanations and patience were also notable, as was the length of time or took to complete the work.

This company has been used before and they did their usual good job. They came on time, were careful about using electrical outlets and access to water. They tested their work and showed me that water was flowing freely down the drain. When finished they put the hose back on the reel and gathered up their extension cord carefully so as not to drag it over a flower bed. A friendly, courteous staff from first to last contact.

Ed at Sinks to Sewers is a true perfectionist, not like a lot of others who slash and dash. He saved me a large amount of money showing me how I could change from brass to chrome by replacing the jacuzzi spout and faucet handles rather than pulling the jacuzzi out and installing whole new faucet. He does top quality work and you won't be disappointed with the results. We had one minor problem with a fixture he ordered but the wrong one came in. He came back quickly and addressed the issue. He was always punctual, presentable, and completed the work on time and he was actually lower than his estimate. I have done plumbing on my own and pride myself on the work I do. After seeing Ed's work I'm not going to do any plumbing on my own again.
Description of Work: Major bathroom remodel. He put in all new rough plumbing for a new pressure balanced fancy shower system and a new toilet. He then came back after the tile work and did the finish installs.

Called Sinks to Sewers for a drain in the washtub downstairs was making gurgling noises when we flushed the upstairs toilet. Called on 12/8/14 at 545pm. I left a message.I figured they were closed and would call the next morning. wasn't an emergency. Next morning 12/9/14 they called around 9ish and i told them the problem and we scheduled for 1-3 same day. they called at noon and said they were running early and asked to come now. I was fine with that. Took them less than 30 minutes, tested the drain with water and then mostly explaining to me it was probably just air because when they tested it out there was no gurgling noises. They said I could snake the line if I wanted. They did not pressure me like other companies i've had before where they pressure u to snake it. They said no charge for today and gave me a price for down the line if i wanted it snaked or if/when it needs to be snaked. $135-$165 which is half of what i paid 2 years prior to get the line snaked from another company!! They gave me a ballpark on another project(will be years before we do it) and i find them to be VERY reasonable!!! I asked again before they left was there a service call and they said NO!!! NO SERVICE CALL!! VERY pleased with this company. I think i finally found a decent, trustworthy and someone who isn't going to rip you off. I plan on calling them again in the future. ** i dont know if they do emergency service though***. If i had an emergency i dont know if they respond after hours like some companies. i hope they do as i dont want to give my business to anyone else.

I called Sinks to Sewers at about 9am on Monday morning and they were able to schedule someone to come out "between 3 and 5pm". Ed showed up, promptly, at 3:00 (may have even been a tad bit earlier). He was very friendly and courteous, right from the start. I showed him the sump pump that had been installed, several years ago, and we'd already had to have "fixed" a couple of times. The pump, itself, is fine. The issue was that the last contractor (Diggit Contracting) had placed the pump on top of a cinderblock and two rows of bricks. The pipe coming up out of the pit was shaky and at an angle that didn't seem secure. The pump was sitting so high, in the pit, that the water nearly reached the edge before the pump would turn on. Ed took his time to explain the pros and cons of lowering the pump and just how far to lower it. After some thought and discussion we decided to remove the bricks and leave the pump raised a bit, on the cinderblock. This would allow the pump to turn on at the PROPER water level to do it's job - KEEP WATER AWAY FROM THE FOUNDATION. He put a new check valve in, cut and added a piece of pipe so that the pump could be lowered, and added a secure "J-hook" so that the pipe couldn't "rattle around" anymore. I've used Sinks to Sewers, several times before, and have always been VERY PLEASED with the work they do and how incredibly friendly and professional they are.

They came out a couple of weeks ago to fix a kitchen sink leak and were great--polite, professional, and explained what they did and showed me the parts. We had them back this week to change out two bathroom faucets, which they did for $135 (not including the cost of the new faucets which I had purchased at Home Depot). We discovered a leak a few days after the installation and I called them and left a message at 4:50pm on Friday afternoon. Their outgoing message said that they were closed until Monday, but before 6pm, they had called me back and said they could come to check out the leak on their way home. I told them that I understood it was Friday evening and we could schedule for next week, but they insisted it was no problem and came back to fix the leak. They were friendly and courteous and it ended up being a quick fix of tightening a part of the new faucet's stopper hole from underneath the sink. They did not charge for coming by after hours on a Friday night to double check a leak in the faucet installation they had done on a Tuesday. I have been very impressed with their service and would recommend them highly.

Brian assessed the work we needed and fixed the copper pipe which has had a slow leak. Brian worked efficiently and got the job done in under 45 minutes.
