He came on time, was very pleasant, did the job quickly. Since I am a single woman, he showed me how to take care of this in the future.
Description of Work: Cleaned out a badly backed up bathtub drain, checked all the way back to the main connection, and showed me how to use a snake so that I can keep it cleaned out.

My kitchen sink backed up over the weekend and Sinks and Sewers came out this morning and did a wonderful job fixing things up: the fellow who came did a superb job of explaining the problem. He was very courteous, neat, clean, and professional. Plus they give a 30-day warranty. And the price was very reasonable. I hope I won't have to use them again any time soon, but if I do have plumbing issues, I will certainly call Sinks and Sewers.

Our ten-year-old garbage disposal was leaking into the space under the sink to the extent that I needed to keep a bowl under it. Ed Smith replaced the unit, which he had on his truck. He also replaced a cartridge in the faucet, which was beginning to leak as well, and it now works much more smoothly. He charged less for labor than the time actually spent. I was impressed that he had both parts available in his truck rather than having to order them. I was also pleased with the neatness of the work and lack of mess.

I recently purchased a foreclosed home. During the home inspection we found that the sump pump was not functioning. After closing, I called Sinks to Sewers and they made an appointment for me that same day, for a time within 2 hours of my phone call. Brian came, was clean and professional, and made a point of explaining his work to me because I was interested in knowing what he was doing. He was also very conscientious about cleaning up after he finished working. It took just 45 minutes for him to replace the sump pump.

They fixed a water leak around the base of the toilet. Once they completed the job, the leak started again and they came back and fixed it and they did not charge me anything when they came out the second time. They were professional, responsive and punctual. Their pricing was very reasonable as well.

They were able to come just a few hours after I called to make an appointment to be fixed. They were friendly and explained everything to me that needed to be done before they did it. They could have just repaired the problem, but they went the extra step and replaced some piping that wasn't up to code and did a great job. The cost was very reasonable and the service was efficient. I will definitely be calling again if I need plumbing work, and I would recommend them to everyone.

I used Sinks to Sewers ones and I had a pretty good experience with them. I live in a bi-level so it was very important they found the leak. They discovered the leak pretty quickly. Their price was higher for what they discovered but other than that they were good. They did not fix anything but they figured out that the ice maker on my refrigerator had the busted line which was leaking through the ceiling. They could have gone easier on the price. It did not take him a long time to do the job. It took only 20 minutes for him to find out.

On the Friday night of Labor Day weekend, we discovered that there was a clog in the upstairs plumbing rendering all of the plumbing on the second story of our house inoperable. We called Sinks to Sewers on Saturday morning and left a message since they were closed over the holiday weekend. We next called Mr. Rooter to see if they could fix the problem for us that day since we didn't want to have to wait three days. Mr. Rooter sent someone out that afternoon ($47 for the service call) and the plumber quoted us a price of approx. $275 to snake the pipes. We told him to go ahead and after 30 minutes, we learned that the plumber broke his equipment and would need to use a larger snake that would require him to pull the toilet. This was going to now cost us approx. $400. After looking at the toilet, the plumber from Mr. Rooter informed us that he couldn't pull the toilet because the toilet valve was stuck and would need to be replaced, but he couldn't do that for us because we would need to turn the water off in the house and main shut off valves were old and were likely to break. To replace these valves, we would need to talk to the city to have our water shut off and that would have to wait until after the holiday weekend. The estimate from Mr. Rooter was $919 to replace the shut off valves, replace the toilet valve, and snake the upstairs pipes. As all of these prices started adding up, we became increasingly uncomfortable with Mr. Rooter. We paid for our service call and waited until Tuesday when Sinks to Sewers called us back. We had S2S out on that Tuesday and Ed confirmed all of the problems that Mr. Rooter identified. We ended up having Sinks to Sewers snake the pipes (which only cost us $122) and we had them back out two weeks later to replace the toilet valve and the meter valves ($251). The estimate from Mr. Rooter for all of this was more than double what we ended up spending with Sinks to Sewers. We had fantastic service from Sinks to Sewers and would not hesitate to contact them again for future plumbing needs. The work was done well and they have always been quick, efficient, and personable.

I had them provide an estimate for the job and that cost $12.00. Their estimate was similar to another company but I liked the Sink to Sewers owner due to his friendly, professional manner. He was very detailed in his estimate and offered that it was probably higher than the job would require but he wanted to prevent any negative surprises. I scheduled the work about two weeks later. The plumber/owner arrived at the planned time, completed the work, cleaned up thoroughly, again explained all costs and wrote up a detailed bill.
Description of Work: They replaced two outside faucets with frost free faucets. Had to disconnect and remove laundry tub and cut a hole in drywall to access one that had broken last winter. The other was a simple cut and replace procedure.

Aside from not returning our original call which required us to contact them a second time, Sinks to Sewers provided excellent service and we were very happy with our experience. Brian and his colleague appeared on our doorstep on time and were quite personable from the outset. It only took Brian a few minutes to diagnose the problem and I very much appreciated the step-by-step game plan that he provided to me detailing exactly what he was going to do to fix the problem. Starting from explaning how he would shut the water off in the house and spanning until when he would turn the water back on, Brian was thorough in his explanation of how he was going to replace the section of pipe that needed replacing. In total, it took one hour to diagnose our problem, fix the pipe, and clean up. We had a very favorable experience with Sinks to Sewers and we will be sure to contact them the next time we need a plumber.

My father ran into Brian at Stadium Hardware the previous week when he was getting parts to replace the sink trap himself. With no clerks around, Brian helped him and showed him exactly what to get. When we realized all that needed to be done that had been put off for years, we knew who to call! I called Sinks to Sewers on Monday morning and Brian was there in the afternoon right on time. First he plunged the kitchen sink vigorously. He then spent at least 45 minutes wrestling part of an old bent brass trap out of the wall where it was stuck. He said his company's philosophy was to repair rather than to replace and he definitely demonstrated it here. This pipe end had been stuck for decades probably and the previous fixer had added a leaking coupling to compensate. Now it's better than before. He was happy to let us watch him work although the 45 minutes of bending and prying was tiring to see! He then replaced the washers in the faucet and explained the steps and tools involved. He took apart the leaking bathtub tap, vintage 1930, examined the fixtures unsuccessfully for brand names, then took the part of the valve stem back to the shop to try to find a replacement. Unfortunately, although both he and his dad Ed searched their collection of vintage catalogs, they were not able find the part to repair the faucet. Brian explained our possible options for getting the bathtub fixtures operating. He spent approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes at the house and just charged us for the service call, parts, and half an hour of his time. I called the next day with our decision about the fixtures, and Pat, the wife and mother and office person, was also completely knowledgeable and helpful. Our fixtures were 11 inches on center and the current standard is 8 inches, but she was aware of a source that made the older style and ordered the part for delivery in two days. Because of this, we didn't need to alter the tile in any way, obviously saving money and time. By this point we had been in contact with the colleague who does the larger jobs and could replace most of the pipes in the basement. He was scheduled for that Thursday which would have been the day for Ed to replace the bathtub fixture. Since they have a long shared history, there was no problem with Ed delivering the precious part, and Mitch's crew installing it. This was easily the best contact I have ever had with any service provider or contractor. Brian was prompt, polite, and friendly. He obviously knew what he was doing and cared about results. He took time to explain our options and made sure we understood, illustrating with real-life anecdotes. He was respectful of my 85 year old father. All this applies to our contact with Brian's father, Ed. Although we spent less time with him, we got to hear a few more anecdotes! Pat was great also, aware of our concerns and needs, helpful on the phone, and instrumental in getting the part for the bathtub.

Great. Sinks to Sewers is a local, family owned company highly rated on Angie's List. Inasmuch as I have never had this work done before, I joined Angie's List to get a recommendation. They would have come out the same day I called, but I was not immediately available. Service requested: clean out one basement drain tile known to be draining slowly into the sump pit. Brian evaluated the situation, clearly explained the limitations of what he could safely do (to the tile), and gave me an estimate of $102.00. Not only did he thoroughly root out the problem drain, he did the other one as well, hosed out both drains to clear as much sediment as possible and then he took a shop vac to clean out the sump pit. Exceeded expectations! After one service call I have already paid for a one year subscription to Angie's List.

Ed is a friendly, personable individual who came prepared to complete the job. He inspected some of the plumbing about which I had questions and did not charge me for the extra time. I have already made plans for him to return to correct some of the problems cause by DIYefforts in the past.
Description of Work: Ed installed a sump pump in record time. He then answered a million questions that I had, providing me with options and advice that will save me a lot of money in the end. He reused serviceable parts, which meant that I could return some of parts that I had purchased just in case.

I called Sinks to Sewers in the middle of the morning. On the phone the receptionist helped me diagnose the problem and narrowed it to two possibilities. She gave me a cost estimate for each one. The plumber arrived less than an hour later. He completed the diagnosis, a blockage in the line to the city sewer, and selected a two-step process for correcting the problem. I was impressed with the care he took to maintain cleanliness in my house, for example, wearing and removing galoshes during his trips to the outside of the house, and for cleaning up after the work was complete. While he was working we discussed another plumbing task, and he offered excellent advice which led to his being able to complete the task during the same visit with a minimum of additional cost.

GREAT! We had a whole list of jobs that had accumulated over the last three year. Ed carefully went through the entire list, making recommendations and not pushing any repairs that weren't necessary and offering lower-cost solutions to some of the items than what we thought might need to be done. For the flooding problem, he had to remove a cupboard from the wall and he worked very carefully, doing minimal cosmetic damage, and cleaned everything up well. We really were very pleasantly surprised by the end cost, delighted to get everything done in one day, very happy with his suggested fixes, and very happy as well with the quality of the work.
Description of Work: Several household plumbing repairs from accumulated list: shower that wouldn't turn off completely, replaced five different faucets that were leaking or squirting water, fixed two outdoor spigots, one of which was unusable due to causing flooding indoors, replaced a shower head.
