Our humidifier was leaking onto the cellar floor. He could have sold me a new pump, but he didn't. He found that the hose was leading to the outside and it was frozen. He put new hosing in that lead to the laundry room tub so it won't freeze again. He checked it to make sure it was running correctly. We had an informative discussion about furnace filters as well. I use these guys all the time for HVAC maintenance / repairs.

We shopped around and had about three or four quotes for similar work. Koch and White was not the cheapest, but seemed to have the most knowledge about the products without sounding salesman-ish. They had several recommendations on how to get better air flow in my house, and noticed several issues with the existing ductwork that no one else noticed. They were very timely and the install went very smooth. Aside from the unit replacement, they did a lot of duct work and even electrical work after they noticed some impropertly run lines into my electrical box. The installers noticed a leaky pipe (not at all to do with their products or services) and sweated in a new copper ball valve for me at no cost while they were doing other pipe work for the geothermal. I received instructions on how things worked, how to operate the system and when I had some additional questions a few months later, they came back and tweaked some settings for me at no cost. I feel that you spend a little more, but are much more confident in the equipment and service, and know that if anything goes wrong, they will be back to take care of it without any hassle.

We're on the K&W maintenance plan. One of our furnaces had stopped working. K&W came the same day, replaced a pressure switch to fix the issue at no charge and also performed the annual maintenance. Awesome.

Right before Christmas our furnace started to act up. Perfect timing! We had a reputible heating/airconditioning company over to service it and see if they could figure out what was going on. After a very cursory examination of the furnace, the technician said it was 'probably' the inducer motor and suggested we replace it... cost? About $1100. That's a lot to spend on something they couldn't even guarantee was issue. We needed a second opinion, and found Koch and White had a good reputation. The Service Tech (I believe Dennis?) came over SUPER early to accomodate my work schedule and set to work. His diagnostic process was 10X more thorough than the first company that we had in. And while the diagnosis was basically the same, both the tech and Harold, the unbelievably nice Cheif Tech at Koch and White, bent over backwards to help us come up with an affordable solution. Harold must have spent 45 minutes on the phone with me just helping diagnose the issue and run through options. I can't say enough good things about the folks at Koch and White. Incredibly friendly, cost competitive, and willing to work hard to get things right. I will be using them for all of my maintenance and repair needs in the future. Customer for life!

They show up on time (they have a 7 am option) and the work seems to be done right. In case of emergency, they have a an off hour number to call including weekends.

Because of the frigid temperatures, my fresh air intake was clogging with snow. After attempting to clear it and not being successful the technician came up with a work-around until the temperatures became more moderate. I was not charged because I had a furnace tune-up 3 weeks before, and their policy is not to charge for a service call if it's been 30 days or less.

At the suggestion of several people I know, I called Koch & White to get an estimate on a furnace for our 1960 ranch house. Our old furnace was 23 years old, and although working, was showing age. We planned to get the furnace replaced prior to the onset of cold weather this winter. I called and left a message with the sales department. Within 24 hours they returned my call to set up an in home estimate within the week. The estimator arrived on time, was polite and professional, and explained all of my options (including price). While we considered replacing the 15 year old air conditioning unit at the same time, this was simply out of our price range. (an additional $2,500-$3,500) I appreciated that the salesman did not try to up-sell me to a product that was not necessary for my home. I was given 4 different options of furnaces ranging from a regular efficiency (at my request) to a 98% efficiency with all the bells and whistles. (All furnaces were Carrier brand). When I asked about which furnace would be the best... I was told that ANY of the furnaces would be OK for my home, and that it was purely a decision we needed to make. My husband and I opted for the cheapest high efficiency option (95% efficient). We placed our order over the phone with the sales department a few days after the in-home estimate. We were asked to put down a significant deposit toward the purchase price (30%), but was able to do so with a credit card over the phone. We then received a phone call about a week later to schedule the installation of the new furnace. The installation crew of 2 arrived on-time around 8:30AM. They explained what the day would include (removing old furnace and taking measurements (2-2.5 hours), then they would leave for lunch, retrieve appropriately cut parts, return at 12:30 to finish the installation, be done around 4:30PM). Everything went exactly as scheduled. They were polite, went about their business professionally, worked efficiently as a team, and explained the new thermostat and furnace functions. I felt comfortable enough to leave the house and run an errand while they were working. One of the people who came to install our furnace was a smoker, and I would see and smell him smoking while outside working at the truck. While this did not particularly upset me, I know that it might upset some people, and think that this maybe could have been done more discreetly. Overall, the installation was done impeccably, everything was cleaned up afterward, and all looks and functions great! Although the price tag was a little higher than we had hoped for, the benefits of working with a reputable company, along with the 5 years of free annual maintenance and 10 year warranty, all make the price worth while.

If everyone at Koch and White had been like Harold, Jeremy, and AAron, there would have never been any problems to begin with! However it is time to move ahead and Koch and White and I are now business friends once again. I do very much recommend them.

I can't say enough positive things about Koch and White. This is the third time we've had them out for service (the first being to replace our furnace, and later to install a whole house humidifier), plus they've been out several times for annual maintenance on those items. They're always friendly, punctual, knowledgeable, and do a nice job leaning up after themselves, and this time was no different. We have cats that love to escape outside, and I mentioned that to them, and they were very careful to not leave doors open. Also, they put drop cloths down to protect the flooring.

I'm so glad we called this company. They came out within 1 hour at around 6:30, diagnosed and repaired the issue, AND inspected our system. The gentleman who came was efficient and knowledgable, very respectful. And the after hours cost was not a total rip-off, which was completely amazing. We could not have been more pleased with our experience. They are our new go-to A/C company forever.

It was very good. They were affordable, professional, very honest. He knew what he was doing. The price was fair. They were reliable. They have a decent driver. They told me they would cal me when they have the next available appointment. So if you miss the appointment, they always have people on the road so that was pretty helpful. They were flexible.

They've been pretty stand-up for me. The fact that it was set-up on a schedule, they pretty much remind and get on everything. I have been in their database for services I use and they send the reminders for me. Responsiveness, that one is probably the one lacking a bit. When they're there, they are there.

I am a first time home owner, and I have a very old Air Conditioning unit in a very old home. The tech who came out to inspect and clean my air conditioning unit was helpful, knowledgeable, very professional, and honest - I had some concerns about the age of the unit and an odd smell, and he addressed all of my concerns in a frank and helpful way. He even helped me adjust some settings in my duct work to make my heating and cooling run more efficiently!

called to have our furnace looked at for a smell of gas. i figured it was just the shutoff leaking. i made the appointment and as usual, they call when they are on their way. within 1 hour from the time they called to say they were on the way they were finished with the job. the technician also found a leak at the hot water heater. **** I CALLED DTE A MONTH PRIOR AND DTE FOUND NO LEAKS!!! (yet i still smelled gas for over a month from when DTE left) I WILL ALWAYS CALL KOCH AND WHITE FOR ALL MY HVAC NEEDS EVENTHOUGH THEY MIGHT NOT BE THE CHEAPEST...

In April 2013 got an estimate to disconnect/reconnect our outside a/c for when we got our basement waterproofed. Waterproofers said they could suspend the a/c and that way i wouldn't have to pay to get it disconnect. Koch and White agreed that the waterproofers could do that. However, there was a collapse of dirt so when we had it waterproofed today June 5, 2013, I had to call Koch and White to come out asap to disconnect the a/c. They honored the price that I was quoted several months before. The technician was here in an hour to disconnect the a/c. The technician did an AWESOME job and was able to disconnect it considering the conditions he faced (8ft. hole underneath him while disconnecting the a/c that was suspended in the air). ANOTHER QUALITY JOB DONE BY KOCH AND WHITE!!!

I have a service contract package with them. There was a part they had to buy that cost $10 but I got for free under the package. The package was their gold package and the guy came to my house about three times and did not charge me because of the package. They were also very prompt .He did not even take a tip from me when I offered him one which is rear. They are extremely responsive. They stuck to every word of their contract and did not charge me.

Just moved to Saline around xmas time and needed someone to complete the work that was told by us during the home inspection. I called and emailed several places and I thought Koch and White's price and solution was the best. The furnace cleaning was not an issue. However, the ducts to relocate was a little bit of an issue but they had to call Mr. Brown in to come to our home to verify where to move them. Our chimney flue liner had to be a bigger size than what i originally told them. I was told on the spot that the price would be higher since the liner had to be larger. No big deal. The only downside was i had to have them bill me because i was in the process of moving stuff from one house to the other. I like paying my bills on time and fast so i dont have to worry about them. i had to call and email several weeks before i got the bill. It was because they were updating their systems. I had to use them again about a month ago because the furnace went out. They responded quickly after hours. I will continue to use them in the future for all my furnace and a/c needs. I know they might not be the cheapest but i can TRUST them!!

Scheduling service was easy and they were flexible on the time, technician was experienced and friendly, and completed work in a reasonable amount of time. My wife felt safe with him in the house when I was not home. I've been using Koch & White for many years for both installations and service and they are really great. Not cheap at all, but do great work.

It went really well. They did have to come back and fix something, however, they responded really well to our need. They came back quick and fit us in right away.

At first I was a little concerned that the installers looked a little young but they quickly put me to ease as they began their work in dismanteling the old furnace and preparing for the insallation of the new one. I especially appreciated that they put down a protective covering on the carpeting leading to the outside and their truck. This kept the mess very localized to the "furnace room" without anything being tracked into the main house. Given that the old furnace was 25 years old and had heated long and hard throughout that time they did an excellant job of keeping the rest of the house clean. Their workmanship is easily evident still today -- new wires and leads were carefully taped and secured with plastic holders -- far beyond my expectations. They cleaned up everything -- made sure my new thermostats were programmed and working and the furnace was functioning well before leaving I gave them "A"s on everything but the price -- and thats only because I tend to be stingy! And who likes buying a new furnace anyway??? I remain very satisfied with their work and would highly recommend them.

Sales representative was willing to answer all questions and to discuss the equipment and work in detail beforehand. Price was best of all we received when maintenance costs were considered (Koch and White provided free check-ups through the first 5 years). Work started and finished on time. Work was done very neatly, and clean-up was excellent. Workman were very responsive to the requests we made (e.g., putting the furnace on new blocks) and answered any question we had.
