The first "deep" clean of the apartment was much more expensive than they estimated. They quoted an hourly rate, but said that it would be no more than two hours. I live in a loft, so one of the maids started dusting an exposed area, and got a bunch of dust into my closet (over all my clothes) and a bookshelf on the other side of the wall. However, I felt bad because dust got in her eyes and she wore contacts. Needless to say my dry cleaning was very expensive. They worked slower than expected, and was late for their scheduled appointment. In fact, a girl from the office arrived to check on the qualify before they even arrived. The second time she came back, they had just finished one room. After the initial cleaning, I was hesitant to "reinvest" in a different maid service because the initial cleaning fees would have been steep. I made sure to ask the office representative if the same TWO girls would be here, with the exception of sickness or turnover. She assured me it would be the same people. On the day of the first cleaning, both girls said they would see me again. However, only one of them, the team leader, has been the regular girl. The whole point of me meeting with them the first week was to establish a relationship and make sure that my dogs are comfortable around them. When I called back the office, they backtracked on their initial word, which every other cleaning service was able to guarantee (again, provided that they are not sick or did not leave the job). All in all, more expensive than expected, and the first initial cleaning created more headaches and mess than necessary.
Description of Work: I used them for weekly housekeeping, and finally made the switch after many unsatisfying experiences. To address the review below, of course I was not offered anything for the dry cleaning until after the initial 24 hours. I had to offer up one my my blankets in order to shield the dust, which I then had to clean. I was also late for work. My former maid, who is retired, would never dust INTO the bedroom with carpet and clothes, but to the other side, which could easily be cleaned because it was wooden floor (hard to imagine, but this is a loft space). And as for not being late, even the girl who came in to review the cleaning said "they should have been here by now." 2:30 is not the time that they actually came, but the time recorded. I have had many maids over the years, due to moving around different states, including a family housekeeper for 10 years. Now I have a much more professional service thanks to neighbors, and will not be recommending them to the new ones moving in. After an initial note for breaking the customized, wooden blinds in my apartment, I received 1 email about filling out a damage report. Luckily I have the best super, who offered to fix it for free, since the blind company would have taken more time. The next time, my porch blinds were broken and the parts on the bottom that mounted them were missing. This time I received no note of warning from the maids, and no email from the office or apology after I mentioned it. Luckily, this was an easy fix but only because of my super. I've also had an instance when the TV was turned on. When I reported this, the company did not take my side, even though it was my next door neighbor who reported this since the volume was quite loud and my dogs started barking. She thought something was wrong but could not get in. Then all my shoes, including muddy ones, were moved into my bedroom, with white carpet. I spent a great deal of time cleaning up after the maids, which makes no sense. It's really presumptuous to have someone rearrange all your shoes into a completely different room, creating more mess and expecting you to pay for it. Then finally, the bathroom cabinet base was broken, with the nails hanging. I thought perhaps they didn't see it/was a mistake because again, no warning or note from the maids. I reported the damage because this time it seemed serious, since this is a choking hazard for animals and small children. This time, my super looked at it and said this was was not an accident, because the moldings were missing and must have been thrown away. That was basically the last straw. I've had many maids break things over the years, which is completely expected because we're all human, but they were always honest and at least apologetic. Just because I didn't need the insurance money doesn't mean I want to keep taking up my super's time and my own time, or want to be treated with so much indifference. I realized I needed someone new after I started coming home and was actually expecting to find something amiss and no note. What took me so long was my own fault, and my unwillingness to change as well as my busy schedule. I am rarely here for more than 20 days at a time. The maids themselves really tried, but it seemed like they were scared to report anything-which is the wrong way to go about it especially when the damage is obvious. I rarely ever got a response from the office, and they stopped calling to ask about my opinion once the damages started. I even have the number of times I was emailed a statement, which was not every month as promised. I am lucky to have neighbors who were concerned enough to give me better recommendations, some of which are on this website. So since the last feedback, I have given lots of comments-positive, negative, and constructive. The only ones that were answered were the positive. None of my service questions were taken seriously or even answered. "When you are happy, we are happy"-obviously not in my case.
