"The whole process of quoting, sales presentation, finance arrangement, installation was simple, timely, professional, complete and painless. The price was very competitive, the installation was smooth and prompt, and the end product is thing of beauty. This review is from a homeowner who has had a couple of terrible furnace experiences in the past decade."

Wolverine Power Systems offers versatile and durable power generator products to industrial, commercial and residential markets.
"have used Wolverine Power Systems for eight years I now I believe and at all of my Michigan homes. This company's service has steadily been declining over the years to the point where I have no choice to cease doing business with them and to warn others of their extreme poor customer service. I have a generator down at a house since end of June 2021. Called emergency service, tech complained he already worked a 12 hour day and i had to beg him to come out and bribe with a bottle of whiskey. He did not take the bottle after the call. However, he was not able to fix the generator and furthermore he was not able to properly diagnose it so what was the point of the emergency call? Had another tech come out, Bobby, who said the starter was bad and had to order replacement. Wolverine power sent the repair estimate to an old email address and after a week, no phone call from them, i called them to see when Bobby was coming out to replace the starter and they tell me they are waiting on me for approval. I understand even though I told Bobby to order the starter, "dispatch" or whomever needs a signed approval but i could have signed that with Bobby but more importantly a down generator is a down generator. How about a phone call follow up or even clicking read receipt on the email to make an attempt to know i even received it. July 19th get an email starter is in be out on the 21st. Nope. canceled. July 26th we send a follow up email asking when we will be on the schedule, no reply. We did get an email from Wolverine accounting inquiring about past due invoices though which was amusing since one of them was for the preventative maintenance that was supposed to be done in the end of June but the generator was down. Even funnier is when they did come out to do the preventive maintenance they brought the wrong battery. They have been servicing this generator for 8 years. How do you order the wrong battery given the account history? Aug 6th we finally get a reply from Wolverine Power that all parts are in and they will be out Monday Aug 9th to get us back up and running. Nope, canceled again. Worst part is Wolverine is not proactive where Dispatch can email or call you to inform you of when you will be rescheduled. You have to constantly chase them down. 2 days have gone by and guess what a storm rolled through Michigan and 800,000 without power now across the State. Us included so now, higher priority services like hospitals or emergency services, rightfully so, will be Wolverine's priority so we sit in the dark and my assumption is it will be another 2 weeks before they get to us. Bottom-line, if you can find another reputable Generator Service company I would definitely go that route."

Installing a whole-house generator costs about $5,000 on average. Prices range from $1,550 to $8,500, depending on size, brand, fuel type, and assembly. The size of your whole-house generator is the most significant cost factor, with large homes with high energy demands costing the most to power. Types of whole-home generators include:
Portable generators with 1kW–7.5kW capacity: $500–$2,000
Partial generators with 9kW–20kW capacity: $2,000–$6,300
Whole-house generators with 22kW–48kW: $5,000–$18,000
When maintained properly, a whole-house generator can last up to 20 years. Costs to maintain and repair generators vary by location and type of generator, but you can expect to pay about $150 to $300 per year for annual generator maintenance checks. An experienced generator service technician will inspect your generator’s engine filter, starting mechanism, fuel, lubrication, and coolant levels to keep your generator in good working condition for as long as possible.
When choosing the right size generator for your needs, consider a few items to help calculate the wattage you’ll need. Start by determining which household items and appliances you want to power, and then add the wattages together. Check out the wattage of these essential appliances:
Refrigerator: 600 watts
Large dehumidifier: 700 watts
Large window air conditioner: 1,400 watts
Water heater: 3,000 watts
Running home appliances like these requires a partial or whole-house generator. A portable generator may be enough to power your home if you only plan to keep a refrigerator and freezer running.
Here’s what you can run with different wattages and types of generators:
Portable generator:
2,000 watts can handle a large appliance like a freezer or refrigerator, plus a few smaller items like phones or computer chargers.
4,000 watts will keep two large appliances operating and a few smaller devices.
8,000 watts should power most essential appliances and other devices, including a sump pump, well pump, or your dishwasher.
Partial to whole-house generator:
20,000 watts and above will make it seem like your home’s power is still on.
The value of installing a whole-house generator is that your home has guaranteed power, even if the power grid in your area is down. Whether a whole-house generator is worth installing in your home depends on how often you use it, your home’s location, and your lifestyle. For example, installing a whole-house generator is likely worth it if you:
Experience frequent or prolonged power outages
Work from home
Store a lot of cold food
Have a sump pump
Have a pump for well water
Use electronic medical devices
Live in a climate requiring heating or cooling
