POORLY AND TO MUCH TIME USED.

I was happy with him. He used the scaffoldings to repair the high ceiling. I never knew what their schedule was and it took longer than I thought, so I wasn't happy with that. The price was average. If I need to use him in the future, I need to be more specific about when to start and when to finish.

Peter was recommending to me by The Hub (furniture store) in Portland. He returned my call promptly and was responsive and professional. While he wasn't able to help with our repair, he recommended another contact.

I started with 4 companies bidding. Actually, I started with 2 (not Peter) and one never bid. Then I found Peter (through Angie's List) and another contractor. Peter was the only other person to bid. I liked both contractors who bid,. I decided on Peter after speaking with a reference. Peter had built an outdoor shower for her, but she also told me he did a lot of other work for her including a kitchen. She raved about him and his work. He is great. He is talented, smart, hardworking, easy to deal with, responsible, reliable and highly skilled. The woodworking was beautiful (all cedar). He also designed a door handle, a lock, a curved shelf, a curved soap dish, the towel hooks and the post caps- all of these items were made from cedar. I had an outdoor shower book that I had bought as a reference, and he was able to make the shower look like the one I wanted in the book. He took the initiative on many of the details and I was always happy with the result. It was a great project and I feel very fortunate to have found Peter through Angie's List.

The job went well overall. He arrived on time, understood the problems and corrected them. He explained his work thoroughly and was most professional in every respect.

peter was very pleasant to deal with he was on time and essentially did what was asked i would have perferred a outcome (smoothness of sanding) one or two notches better; however, I'm not sure the "level of finished" was clearly discussed. he could have taken the lead here in suggesting levels of quality versus cost. I hope I can use him again

We wanted them to add a shower. The price seemed to be reasonable but I decided that it was too high for me. They seemed pretty standard. I will consider using this company again in the future.

First of all we found Peter through your website! There were only two posts about him. One was a beaming review and the other was someone who didn't have work done by this carpenter and was frustrated that Peter didn't return an inquiry call. I figured the man was maybe too busy to return all his calls because he is so good! I called Peter and we talked about the job, I wasn't in a huge rush and I left it up to him as to when he could stop by. He came by and talked with my husband and me and took a lot of notes, he told me where to go to look at doors available locally. I wanted to make changes to the French doors we talked about with Peter and he was totally fine with that. Peter got delayed by weather and still assured me that we could get the job done by winter. He came with a members of his music band and rapidly took out the old doors and installed the new doors in in two days! I was astonished. These men were polite, asking me if the cat could go outside, they were humorous when all the doors were removed saying, "Hum....... I know what that spot needs, a door!? They played no music at all, which I appreciated because of past subcontractors that blared music while working. The work was impeccable, the finish work beautifully done. They cleaned up their mess so that you couldn't tell they had been here. The price was very affordable. It was a true pleasure to work with this man.

This is an old house. It is not an easy job. He has done everything perfectly. There are counters that don?t match and he had to fit that sort of thing. He is a fine finish carpenter. He knows a lot and he has good people working for him. He is great. He had a lot of ideas. He did not mind when I changed my mind. He was terrific.

I called Peter Dunphy three days ago for an estimate, but he never returned the call. If he doesn't return calls, I wonder what kind of work he does.

EVERYTHING ABOUT HIM AND THE WAY HE APPROACHED THE JOB WAS PROFESSIONAL. HIS MEASUREMENTS WERE RIGHT ON AND HIS ESTIMATE WAS REASONABLE. HE CAME THE FIRST WEEK WITH AN ASSISTANT AND WAS FINISHED WITHIN 10 DAYS. I PURCHASED THE CORK FLOORING MYSELF SO THAT IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE.

We are so happy with Peter's work. We have been happy with the two jobs that he has already done and we have just hired him again to do the remodel of our kitchen and bathroom. I will have more to report on later about the wonderful job that he will do.
