Description of Work: I had them insulate and finish the floor on my three season room. The underside of the room was basically a bare deck, so they added insulation and trimmed out the bottom.

Description of Work: I called for an estimate and Dean came to the house when it was convenient for me and measured the four dining room windows and one kitchen window. Within a day or so, Eric had a price for the five windows. However, it came to be $150 more due to still having lead paint in the windows discovered in a test mandated by the state of Maine. Eric gave me a heads up that the price may be affected by the outcome of the lead test. Also, I was told it would take two weeks to get the windows, but it seemed quicker. An installation date was picked that worked for everybody. Dean and Tyler were very punctual and helped move the last of the furniture and rugs out of the room. They started sealing the doors, built in china cabinet and the piano with plastic per the lead paint procedure.Once that was done, all the single pane/double hung windows were removed and put in my truck for disposal (my option) as were the aluminum storm window systems. They continually vacuumed up debris to minimize the final clean up. One by one the windows were installed and caulked. Then, Dean went over care and maintenance of the windows with me. The kitchen window was installed with equal ease and timeliness. Any and all debris laying on the ground was cleaned up and bagged. They were careful not to harm the rhododendrons and sea roses that were close to the windows. Eric did a follow up visit the day of the installation as well as a few days later since I had an issue with locking the new windows. He adjusted the upper windows and helped me to lock the windows properly.

Description of Work: Repaired all leaking windows (20 windows), repaired and replaced baseboards, completed the job(s) in a timely fashion. Professional quality work, recommended cost saving ideas, honest, polite, hard working.

Description of Work: We had a full size tub/shower that we ripped out the old tile and updated the plumbing. We called RL Higgins to give us a quote on installing backer board and subway tile and a line of rope tile and a small corner shelf. Eric from RL Higgins was very professional and very punctial with his call backs and arriving for his appointments. We ended up hiring another person to do the work due the price difference. Both vendor had good reviews on Angies List.

Description of Work: We are a condo association that used LR Higgins to replace some first- and second-floor porch railings as well as re-attach a small piece of siding that had fallen. The original wood railings had rotted and had become a safety issue; the siding had been blown off by heavy winds. As part of their service Dean and Eric suggested replacing the wooden railings with vinyl composite railings for more weather resistance and stability.

Description of Work: LR Higgins was one of 4 contractors who came to give me an estimate on building an outdoor shower and redoing a tile shower. Eric stayed in contact via email, but Dean provided the estimate. He came twice. I was impressed with this company, their personnel, and their professionalism. Ultimately, only 2 contractors provided an estimate (LR Higgins was one) and I chose the other company based on price. However, I would consider this company in the future.

Description of Work: installation of a dishwasher where there had never been one before

Description of Work: I needed to have a double oven installed and to have some work done in my laundry/powder room to make it handicapped accessible. I received an estimate from one other company. Eric and Dean had a much better idea for how to do the renovations and the price was much less. They removed the door frame to my laundry room and flipped it so that the door opened outward instead of inward, which made the space so much more open. They also added some wood backing to an existing pocket door so that a handicap grab bar could be attached. On the day that they came, they ran into several problems. My microwave oven needed to be moved and it wouldn't fit into the area it was moved to. Dean was able to carefully cut the cabinet to make it fit. After the oven was installed, the drawer opening was larger than anticipated and Dean was able to make a new, larger door face which blended perfectly with my cabinetry. These problems were handled with amazing professionalism and skill. I thought for sure that the extra work was going to cost me extra, but when I received the bill, it was for exactly what I was quoted. I was very pleased with the quality and result of the work that was done. The men were on time, and finished promptly. They were neat and cleaned up before leaving. I was VERY happy with the work and I will definitlely use them again.

Description of Work: I needed an installation of some kitchen counters along with a new sink and the addition of a garbage disposal. New wiring had to be added from the cellar for the disposal. I also needed to have a ceramic tile backsplash installed... as well as a new free-floating kitchen floor. Several cellar faucets needed new washers. The kitchen is not large. Counters, ceramic tiles and flooring were purchased in advance by me.
