They were very professional. The job was done right and loos great.

We were very pleased with this contractor's work. Our project was complex and lengthy, and involved a lot of sub-contractors, and the work was excellent across the board. Dean, especially, made numerous on-the-spot suggestions for improving on the design and execution that worked out great. The work crew was friendly and respectful, left the house in good shape each day they were here, and it was actually enjoyable to have them around. The sub-contractors were all skilled, friendly, and easy to be with, came when expected and handled unexpected snafus with ease. The work turned out super, greatly improved the house in all the ways we hoped. Can't comment on price because we didn't bid the project out. Great work, high quality, would definitely use this contractor again for future projects. Highly recommend.

We live in Louisville, KY and wanted a deck built for our camper in Maine. We needed to have the deck completed before our arrival on July 1 3013 and began discussions with Eric toward the end of May 2013. Eric went out to the site and provided an estimate and agreed to complete the work before ore July 1 deadline. We had some specific size and height requirements because we wanted to put a screen enclosure on the deck. I had several discussions with Eric and they proceeded with the work and completed it well with the deadline. The deck is beautiful and sturdy. We put our screen enclosure on the deck and it fit perfectly with no issues. Eric was easy to work with and kept us up to date on progress. Since we were in Louisville, our distance from the project could have created issues but Eric communicated regularly. It's over a year since the deck was built and it's weathered some but it looks just as nice as when we first saw it. It's well-built and sturdy and will probably last past the life of the camper it's attached to!! I would heartily recommend Eric and his crew. Excellent job!!

Very accommodating to my families schedule. The staff were there when they said they would be. They put protective barriers down to protect the floors outside of the construction area and always left the place clean. When sub-contractors came in i.e. plummer and tilers, a member of the Higgins staff was there to introduce them. Always very professional.

The Higgins team started on this project very promptly after their proposal was accepted and worked steadily, as weather permitted, until the job was completed. We are totally satisfied with the results.

Never even received an estimate or the courtesy of a phone call.

We found the LR Higgins crew to be helpful, respectful, professional and personable. They provided a quick and fair estimate and worked on my schedule to complete the work. The bathroom was old and badly in need of repair. They gave us a reasonable allowance to choose fixtures and materials. The bathroom looks great and they finished on schedule! We would hire them again in a heartbeat.

It was a free estimate. They came out in a timely fashion. I felt the quality of the estimate was good. I did ask to have some items broke up, but I guess they wanted to just give a lump sum by week.

We didn't go with them but they were fine. We decided to go with somebody else. Everything was fine but we had a better price with somebody else. Their quote was a little bit on the high side but it wasn't that bad. It was higher than another one that we got that we decided to go with. I would probably not get quotes or use them in the future.

He was very nice and knowledgeable. Contractors are always busy so it was hard to get them to be able to come over. My experience with him was pleasant. He seemed to know what he was doing. He was able to throw a number/guess at me off the top of his head. He did not sound sleazy. He was pretty responsive. I sent him messages through Angie’s List, and he usually responded to me within a day or two which is pretty good for a contractor. He was a few minutes early. I was just about to call him to make sure he was going to swing by, and he had pulled in the driveway. So, he was right on time.

Eric and his crew were great. From the initial contact to the completion of the project, Eric was in touch with me every step of the way. Email was easier for me to communicate with Eric and once I decided on the product I wanted to use, Eric sent me emails on when he and his crew were going to start the project. They showed up on the day they said they would and if they didn't show up one day (because of rain), Eric notified me to let me know they were not coming because of the weather. Eric and his crew cleaned up every day to make sure the worksite was safe for people to walk around the worksite. The deck looks great and family and friends have enjoyed the deck over the summer. I have never had anything done before with composite but so far it has held up great. No fading from the sun or scratches from patio furnitures. I would definitely use Eric and his crew again. Eric and his crew made this a stress-free project and I was happy I chose Eric and his crew.

Regrettably, Eric and team were not the low offeror, probably because this project was a bit outside of their normal work area, and the travel and transportation cost made them 2nd low bid to a local contractor right down the street. The $5K delta was enough to sway us for the equally competent contractor, but from a management, technical, and logistics standpoint, Eric and team were highly qualified, and I was chomping at the bit to work with them. Professional, highly qualified, courteous, and trustworthy; I would gladly hand them the keys to my elderly Mom's home, and let them go to work without a second thought or worry. Eric and his folks provided awesome design and construction advice, even after losing the contract!! I have a future job coming ... total coastal cottage knock down and rebuild, and they will be on the short bid list!! Good people, doing good work, for a good price ... can't ask for more!!

They quoted me $5,500. I was pleased with what they came to tell me but I hired another company because they had a better line in their product and they were a little more knowledgeable. LR Higgins Inc was very professional and responsive. They offered me Harvey windows but I was not as impressed. I went with the product more than the installer.

They were very professional, timely. They came out when they said they would and quick to provide me with a quote. But I choose not to use them because of the price was out of my range. I will not be using them in the future.

I was told that they could not complete the project within our budget. We didn't like the material for the floor that they choose. I didn't find their reasoning to work for me I wouldn't jump to say you should use them for a project but I think it really depends to the size of the job. Someone else may find them okay to use we were not a good fit.

Eric responded promptly to all my questions. The work area was always clean at the end of the day. The quality of the work was very good. They replaced a thermostat that they noticed was faulty - and didn't ask for extra money. Very accomodating. All in all, an excellent experience.

It turned out great. They came in and came up with great ideas. They were not the lowest bidder, but we felt that they had taken everything into consideration. The sub-contractors that came in to do cabinets, tile floor, granite, plumbing and the radiant heat flooring all did a great job. I was kept informed the whole time which I appreciated.

While not a major job, it was all work that needed to be done. We had trouble finding someone to do it. Other firms did not return our phone calls. LR Higgins Inc. did so and came over to look at what was involved. They gave us an estimate, which we accepted. We had to wait about a month for the work to actually get done. When they finally came, the work went very smoothly and was completed in two days. The work was done well and we are very pleased.

The estimate was over $3800.00 so I decided not to go with him.

It was a great experience. The owner, Eric or Dean, one of the carpenters, called me with any questions. It takes me a while to speak up, but I am very comfortable with both men. I really had no bad experiences throughout the whole experience. Eric even gave me 2 tickets to a Red Sox game in September. I highly recommend Eric and his team.

We had some significant miscommunications at the beginning that spoiled the entire estimate. We had never hired a contractor before this project and were really expecting more help from the contractor as to design of the bathroom. Unfortunately, LR Higgins didn't really help guide us through the project and really gave the impression that they wanted a complete and final list of materials before any kind of estimate could be given. We started gathering lists of materials but at that point I was under the impression he wanted us to buy them and he would just install. I don't think that's what he was thinking though as when I finally did get an estimate it was pretty much what another contractor gave us for supplies & labor. They might be good contractors, but be sure you know what the rules of the game are before you start because you won't get help from them.

They came out and looked at the place with me, went through everything step by step and got back to me to give me the price. The quote was broken down by the various tasks. They were perfect. I am going to get other quotes.

It was a pleasure working with Eric Higgins and his associates. The work was excellent and was completed on schedule. They were very fair in dealing with issues that arose during the remodel (the work was performed on a house built in 1925). I highly recommend L.R. Higgins, Inc. to anyone considering any type of remodel. I will be contacting Eric again when I am ready to do additional work on the house. The work was done on my house in South Portland, ME.

Eric was very professional and showed up on schedule. He and his partner took the time to walk me through what was needed and explained a few of the details that I had questions about. Their follow up with the quote was quick as well and was broken down to provide detail on the deck itself and pricing for various options. Ultimately I ended up going with another contractor who is a friend of mine and ended up having time to do this project. Based on LR Higgins previous reviews and professional courtesy though, I would have no problems hiring them for future jobs or referring them to other people.
