+ -1 moreI thought he was excellent. My interaction with him has been very good and I have nothing negative to say because it was all positive. Our home expenses were maybe $200, but we're having an ongoing relationship with him and we are going to use him as our IT go to person. He seems very reasonable with his rates and he delivers good service, so we're very pleased. I haven't done a lot of comparisons and maybe there are cheaper people or more expensive people, but I think his pricing is very fair. He's very friendly and he explains things well. He's very patient with people who may not know as much as he does about computer stuff. He also made very good recommendations and we feel that he's very cost effective. Sometimes computer people do get called away for emergencies and you just have to understand that.
Description of Work: I've used The People's Geek for computer repair services at our home and the place where I work.

Obviously from my grades, I am thoroughly pleased with my experience with the People’s Geek and would not hesitate to recommend them. I am planning to have Ben set up my external drive and backup software – I want to be sure it is done correctly, and I have no doubt that it will be. They are a wonderful find in Portland!!!!!
Description of Work: Portions of the screen were blank and unreadable. My choice was to purchase a new laptop with a Windows 8 system (which I did not want to use) or try to replace the screen. Ben, of The People’s Geek, examined my laptop and came to the conclusion that they were able to replace parts and fix the screen. He estimated that the part would be in within two working days. When the part did not arrive, he immediately called me to apologize. The part arrived two days later, and the laptop was ready the following afternoon. The price charged was within 10% of the estimate given – LOWER! The laptop is performing perfectly! One week later Ben called to follow up to see how the laptop was performing. It is fine!
