I highly recommend Casco Bay Roofing "CBR", for your roofing, trim and siding work. The owner of CBR ANSWERED my telephone request within 12 hours, He came to the project site within a day and promptly provided an estimate with the detail I requested. The estimate was within the range of other estimates. The owner discussed details I requested with me and we decided on final materials, details and he promptky sent a revised detailed quote. We agreed on a start date. CBR Started when they said they would start, the work flow was well organized and his crews were polite and professional. They completed the trim work including replacement of some rotted wood that was found, at reasonable cost. The removal of the old roof and installation of a special hi temp ice and watershield, flashings, venting and special order shingles was done well, with the CBR owner doing oversight at the start on the critical underlayment flashing install to make sure it was done correctly. CBR did an exellent job, with the finak cost at the original estimate cost plus a modest charge for my requested add ons during the work, and work was done in a professional manner. Clean up including using a magnet for roofing nails was excellent. They were a pleasure to work with. CBR only asked for payment at the end of the job, I have asked them for a quote on a difficult cedar siding job next spring. The roofing, siding, flashing, diverter, venting and gutters have performed excellently through this snowy, then icy, then rainy winter...no leaks, no ice dams, no complaints.

I have a small ranch with a roof that the inspector said 2+ years ago should be replaced. I called Casco Bay because of the high ratings on Angie's List and also checked with the Better Business Bureau. From the first phone call to the end of the project - and beyond - everything went perfectly. Mike was very responsive, knowledgeable, easy to communicate with and everything happened as promised. His crew was efficient and did a great job at clean up and removal. I would recommend Casco Bay Roofing to anyone.

I can't say enough about the experience of working with CBR. We had them do this project, then called them back for another. We're not easy to please and have high expectations, and CBR met them all. The second time they came we allowed them to do the work and leave without either of us being home. We knew well that they would leave the site immaculate, and they did. Removed ice/snow from my roof that was causing an ice dam. I have used other roofing companies in the past but Casco Bay Roofing is by far the best. Mike and his crew are prompt, courteous and deliver excellent results at a reasonable cost. I would highly recommend Mike's company for anyones roofing needs!

It went great! Mike, the owner, responded quickly to our request for a quote and came when he said he would. He was pleasant, low-key and easy to talk to, and he answered all our questions and offered helpful suggestions. We got one other quote (a third request didn't show up) and we felt Mike's price was reasonable. He scheduled us for the work within a couple of weeks and the crew showed up as expected. The guys were all very pleasant and courteous. They took pains to protect our property and cleaned up thoroughly when they were done. They were so nice, they even wrote a thank-you note to our neighbor for letting them use her driveway! Mike was nothing short of FANTASTIC. The roof was leaking badly and he had already done a patch job for us and recommended that we replace the entire roof. We didn't have the funds at the time, so he patched it and guaranteed his work. When we called him to say we HAD to replace the whole thing as quickly as possible, he moved other appointments around to get our work done within just a few business days. He had quoted us a full roofing price a few years' back and fully honored the original quote even though materials had gone up, saving us money. He personally called me back within the hour every time I called him. For many years I worked for a highly rated, customer service retailer here in Maine (you probably know who they are). Because of my work there, I put great value on customer service, and have high expectations when it comes to service from any business. Mike not only met, but EXCEEDED all of my expectations. Casco Bay Roofing is an excellent company to do business with. Its owner, Mike, was extremely responsive. He got a complete quote to us within a couple of days of our calling to request one. During the project, if we called him with questions (and we did, because we'd never redone a roof before and thus probably were a bit more anxious than his typical customer), he typically got back to us within 30 minutes or less--and it never took him longer than 24 hours to phone back. The roofing crew was excellent, as well. At our house, they were led by a foreman named Tony, who is great; he is smart, has lots of experience, and obviously knows what he is doing. Like Mike, he was great at answering questions. All of the guys on the crew were considerate, professional, punctual, and great at cleaning up the job site at the end of every working day. They also did a very thorough cleanup at the end of the project. Mike's pricing was very competitive. Our roof was many decades old, and it had two layers of shingles. Unlike some other companies that gave us quotes, Mike didn't charge extra for the removal of multiple shingle layers. His quote came in 2,000 to 3,000 under the other quotes, and we feel as though he provided a comparable--if not better--level of service. All in all, we highly recommend Mike and his crews at Casco Bay Roofing. We believe that they gave us a great product, great craftsmanship, and a great price. Also, Mike offers a ten-year warrantee on his workmanship, which was several years longer than what other potential roofers offered us.

Taking down an old slate roof is no joke. I must have called a dozen roofers to find out price quotes to get the old slate down. No one was helpful, except Mike. He had never stripped a slate roof before. He did some research and found an inexpensive and efficient way to do it. He was able to salvage quite a bit of slate, which subsidized the cost of the work. His team was so courteous and helpful. Every night they went home, they left my driveway clean and accessible. It seemed like every other day I was asking them to do one more thing, and every time they answered yes. Two very big thumbs up for Mike and his team at Casco Bay Roofers.

Owner Mike Norris returned my initial call promptly and inspected the job when he said he would. I wanted only the attic vents originally and he was concerned that my roof might have two layers of shingles but it didn't, as he ascertained with closer inspection. He called back and told me I needed new flashing on the chimney as the previous roofer (before I purchased the house) hadn't woven in the lead flashing with the shingles and slopped on a coating of roofing tar instead. I agreed to do that too and he scheduled the job for the following week. He showed up late one afternoon to show his crew what to do. Two very polite young men came back the following morning and did the job in about four hours. They replaced shingles around the chimney and the two vents and cleaned up very well before leaving.

We were extremely happy with Mike. I found him on here and based on the reviews, gave him a call. He came right over the next day and his quote was very reasonable. I was happy with his communication. He always called me right back. Our job was put off a bit but that was because of the weather which was totally understandable. We had a rainy August. And we didn't have a leak, so there was no emergency. The job was done in one day, so no major disruption in our life. I would recommend Mike to anyone needing roof work.

My wife and i recently had the roofs on our house and barn replaced by Casco Bay Roofing & Renovations, 39 Sumac Street, in Portland, Maine. The experience was completely stress-free and the results were perfect. The crew arrived on time, worked diligently, and took pains to protect our new landscaping. They cleaned up any debris the same day before leaving, even rolling a strong magnet over the driveway to pick up stray roofing nails. When the job was completed (on time), the crew made an even greater effort to clean up everything they could find. When they left, one would never know we had a 5 man roofing crew here for 4 days. Our historical house presented difficult challenges because of its height, chimneys, roof windows, roof vents, and plumbing vents, but all was attended to with no mess or fuss. Called Casco Bay Roofing for a consultation and estimate on our roof that had some leaking. Mike came over and confirmed a problem we had. We were very comfortable with Mike's opinion and decided to have the roof reshingled along with any rotted plywood. The crew arrived and removed the old shingles and rotted plywood and the job was completed in one day. Mike also made suggestions and changes that would prevent problems in the future.

We called and asked to make an appointment for an estimate and were told they couldn't or wouldn't make an appointment, but would stop by sometime. This didn't seem like a very professional approach to us. Suddenly we received an estimate in the mail although we were never contacted personally. We did not like the idea of someone just coming onto our property any time they wanted without contacting us and not taking the time to meet us personally. We did not hire them.

Mike was a pleasure to do business with. Our house is small, but had a very neglected roof with three layers of shingles. Others balked at the job, but Mike and I talked the problem areas over and everything was done as expected. His crew did a great job of cleaning up, not an easy task given the three layers on the roof. Mike always returns calls quickly and is easy to talk and deal with.
