Service went fine. It took about two hours for the entire process. Simon came on a Saturday, which was very convenient for me. He placed down drop cloths and there was no soot whatsoever left in the rooms.

He, Simon, was prompt, courteous, professional and reasonable. He definitely was acting in our best interests. Another company wanted $450 to do the same thing that Simon did for $50! On top of everything else, Simon is a nice guy. I highly recommend his services.

The whole experience was a good one. Simon was easy to contact by e-mail and responded fast. He was willing to come out on a weekend, was on time, was clean and efficient. He was very polite and made great suggestions about our stove. This will be a yearly even, and we will recommend him to others.

We discovered the problem when an insulation crew saw there was leakage around the chimney. Simon checked out the chimney that evening. He make an accurate and fair assessment of the problem.He and his assistant arrived on schedule and made the chimney look like new. The bill was exactly the same as the estimate.Highly recommended.

One of the best service people I've ever met

I was preparing my home for the holidays when i realized that our chimney hadn't been cleaned in at least the two years since I've lived here; possibly as many as 5 years prior to that! Suddenly, I was afraid to use the fireplace! And this was a week before Christmas! I found Mr. Sandstrom on Google. He returned my email and phone messages promptly, even though I had contacted him over the weekend. We made an appointment for a few days later. Mr. Sandstrom was friendly, punctual and professional. He worked quickly to sweep the chimney, carefully protecting my living room carpet beforehand. I was delighted by the service, and called my husband right after he left to tell him how well it went. I especially appreciated that he did not take advantage of my stated concerns and clear lack of experience with chimney science. My husband and I plan to sell our (very old) house in the near future, and Mr. Sandstrom provided useful, honest feedback about the condition of our chimney. He made some suggestions for repairs that would improve safety & prevent bad marks on a future inspection. Reasonable rates for the recommended repairs. We will definitely call him again for future service!

Simon was pleasant and punctual. He took pictures of the chimney so he could show us the damage and what needed to be done. He even helped us trap the squirrel! He did a great job at a reasonable price. I would recommend him to anyone without hesitation.

Simon is a very nice, competent guy. Very knowledgeable. He worked efficiently and was genuinely interested in the house.

Simon was on time, did the work promptly, and gave me an evaluation of the condition of my chimney. The price he charged was the price he quoted on the phone. There were no surprises.

The fireplace chimney was cleaned, as far as I know acceptably.The flues were observed from the roof, looking down into the chimney and videotaped. I was informed at that time by Simon that my flues were in considerable disrepair and would need to be replaced reasonably soon. The starting price would be $900.00 and up. At that time I had an appointment with Charlie Burnham & Co, who I have very happily contracted with since I have been here 3 years, to have my furnace cleaned. That appointment was scheduled around 12/21/2010. Jody, (with Charlie Burnham) came out cleaned the furnace, checked the furnace flue and said everything looked good. I decided a third opinion would be advisable. I had Paul Pickett, Pickett's Chimney Sweep & Liners, come out early January to look at the flues. According to Paul, who went up on the roof to observe the flue linings, they were in good shape. At this point I contacted Simon to discuss what I had been told by two other companies who service and replace flues. Simon basically denied that he had misdiagnosed the problem and stood by his original findings.

Simon did a great job. Will continue to use his services in the future.

We found Simon on Angie's list and called him in a panic when we discovered a problem with our chimney. He was very helpful and responsive and showed up within the hour. He confirmed our suspicions that previous work had not been done correctly and gave us a fair quote for resolving the safety issues and bringing back up to code. He exceeded our expectations with his professionalism, promptness, and helpfulness.

The men arrived on time and immediately got to work on the first fireplace. In the case of both fireplaces that they worked on, they were extremely careful to keep the creosote from getting into the rooms, and in fact, when they left, there was no sign of ashes or creosote anywhere. Not only did they clean the fireplaces and flues, but Simon then went into the cellar and examined and cleaned the flue for the boiler, noting that the vent chimney for the boiler was deteriorating He suggested that I notify the company that recently installed the new boiler (and that delivers our oil), apprise them of the situation, and recommend that they install a power vent. He was extremely knowledgeable about safety matters and pointed out several issues that should be dealt with. We feel that Simon brought to our attention several issues that are potentially dangerous, and we are extremely grateful for this. We were very impressed with his knowledge, professionalism, workmanship, and honesty.

They seemed very honest. They could have done more but they thought it wasn't necessary. The price was less than originally quoted.

Quick, clean and had digital photos of the inside of my chimney to show me that there were not any repair issues for me to worry about. I will definitely call him next I need to clean the chimneys!

I contacted Simon for a chimney inspection and sweep. He responded to my call within a couple of hours and was able to accommodate me by coming to do the service on Saturday instead of during the week. He was meticulous in how clean he kept our living room throughout the entire process. He was also VERY honest in his appraisal, so much so that he actually told us we didn't necessarily need his services! We decided to go ahead and get the work done anyway for our peace of mind. In addition to the work on the chimney that he did he actually asked if we would like us to clean out the gutters while he is up there for a price that was significantly lower than others we had been quoted. Overall a very professional and outstanding job!
