I called Olympic Aire because my upstairs unit wasn't cooling very well. Tony came I took down the steps so he could get to the attic unit. While my head was poked up there, I also said I had a water leak in the ceiling of the adjacent bedroom and I was looking to see what might be the cause of that while I was up there. I didn't think it could be the heat pump system because I knew that the primary drain line was routed in another direction. Tony found that the freon was very low and he replaced it. He also blew out the drain line. He said the drip pan was filling up because the unit was freezing up and then defrosting, which made sense. He didn't catch on to my water problem - wish he had mentioned that there should be 2 drain lines and one could be causing the leaking above the bedroom. After having two roofers come (the first one suggested replacing the roof without even going up to look at the problem), the second roofer was very thorough. He said that he was expecting a large section of shingles to be blown off when he went up to inspect the roof because of the amount of water I had in the bedroom ceiling. Since he checked every shingle and saw no problems, he was so confident that it was caused by something else that he gave me his cell phone number and said to call if I saw the problem again when it rained next, day or night. Since the roof was ruled out, I figured it had to be the heat pump somehow. I traced the pipe leaving the still full drain pan and it indeed headed towards the bedroom ceiling. Unfortunately, that part of the roof is a low hip roof, and only accessible by sliding along on my belly, and the drain was at the edge where I just couldn't get. Glad I now know there are two drain lines, one is secondary as a back-up. I guess in the 10 years of living here we never needed the backup line. Also, I noted that the drain pan still kept filling up even after the freon replenishment - and I was using a sponge and bucket to sop up the water. Since it was a Saturday morning, and I couldn't wait til Monday to have AC in the upstairs, I tried to figure out the problem myself. I saw a large sagging gap under the return vent where it attached to the attic unit. Since it was sucking in moist attic air, there was a large pool of water in the vent which was dripping into the pan. I stuffed rags into the gap and shoved a brick under it to seal it. Also, I had been leaving the unit's fan on to recirculate air, which I now could see was counter productive, so I turned the fan to auto. That seemed to stop the dripping into the pan. With these two problems, I called back Olympic Aire to see what could be done. Tony came again and said he would seal up the unit and install a pump to re-route the secondary drain line. He did that and everything has worked fine since. So, while Tony was personable, explained his trouble-shooting process thoroughly, was knowledgeable, and he is even good with dogs - I am giving them a B for these two visits because I think he could have saved me extensive ceiling damage if he had said that the water could be from the heat pump unit.

We called on a Friday night and got an appointment the next day on a Saturday. Even though there was an extra fee for a weekend call, it was well-worth it. Our AC was broken and we needed a whole new AC unit installed. We had to wait until Tuesday for them to install the new system, but they offered us 3 window units for FREE until our new system was installed! We were so thankful as it was miserably hot that weekend! The technicians were very knowledgeable and continually showed up right on time to all our appointments. They had superior customer service and even wore booties over their shoes inside our home! We would definitely use them again and have already referred them to a couple of our friends. THANK YOU!!!

They came and took the old unit out and put the new one in. At one point my house smelled like gas really bad. I went out and asked them if they did anything with the gas lines. At that time I was told they did not touch the gas lines. My husband called the place and the owner called us back. He told us that yes they did touch the gas lines. They told us that they had to bleed the gas lines. So that is why I was smelling the gas. I am pregnant and was very concerned about it. The work was finished and everything looked fine. I all works fine as of now. We have not really got to use the heat yet but the A/C works great.

They did fine, they did good. It went really well, they were very accommodating and very tidy and very good. We would use them in a heart beat. They were very knowledgeable. They were very tidy and very considerate about when they were coming and didn't mess up the house with the things. They showed up on time. They removed an air vent in the basement in the ceiling and the repair job could have been a little bit more not obvious, but other than that everything is great, and that really is a minor thing. They repaired it, it works, everything is good. Took away the old stuff and put in new stuff. I think they were a little bit more than some of the other quotes that we had but they spent the most time with us going over every single question and telling us exactly what to expect and how long it would take. It was very thorough. These people actually took the time to explain everything.

Excellent, and very professional technicians. They went out of their way to meet my needs. Even worked on Christmas' eve! A bit pricey, but worth it.

I lost all heat in the house the previous night. I called at 10a.m. to schedule a service call and Tony (Technician) arrived on site at noon. Now that's what I call service! Tony was a total professional and walked me through step by step on what he was doing while analyzing the situation. He quickly discovered a problem with the outdoor units reversing valve and then applied a quick fix to restore the heat. We then discussed various options for a more permanent resolution and I agreed that it was about time to replace the 15+ year old system. Tony scheduled for one of their comfort consultants to talk about replacing the old system and the various options offered by Olympic Aire. Looking forward to doing more business with this great company.

Tony made both visits, the troubleshooting and the repair following receipt of needed repair parts. He explained what he was doing, how he determined the cause of the problem, what other problems might exist and how he checked for them. When he returned for the repair, he was prompt, thorough, and professional. He fixed the inital problem, determined that the fan motor was not needed, and tested the system (including air intake and supply temperatures). He also topped off the refrigerant at no additional cost, which was needed and could have added to the expense. I also want to thank Amy in the Olympic Aire office for being flexible and helpful in scheduling the service call around my schedule.

Tony had been out to repair my old HVAC prior to this and discovered a large mouse nest inside the condenser, He cleared out the mess and did everything he could to repair the existing unit, but after a few days it became clear the mice had damaged the unit beyond repair. Olympic Aire gave me a credit ton the reusable parts that had been installed during the attempted repair toward the purchase of a new HVAC system and Tony came out to go over the options they had available for a new system. The day they came out to install the new unit, they showed up promptly and spent the day removing all of the old system components and installing the new system components. They kept all the areas they worked in clean and everyone I spoke to or met during this whole process was very professional at all times. Tony and Tim were also great with my dogs, who were right at the door to greet them as they came in to do their jobs. I recommend them highly!

Tony had come out for a service call on Sunday evening. Inspected /diagnosed problem. Needed a new AC unit. Explained what options were available and their cost. Explained EVERYTHING up-front so there weren't any surprises. Workmen arrived on time as promised....worked quickly and finished WAY before I expected. THey were courteous and professional as well. Totally pleased with the product and the workmanship. Would recommend them anytime!

I had a burning smell coming from my upstairs unit. I called Olympic Aire, and I had Tony arrive early the next day. He trouble shot the issue and explained the possible reason. No repair was done but he gave me his cell number to call if the smell returns. We also discussed prices if the fan motor or the transformer was bad.

The initial consultation had me excited to get a new HVAC system! Tony was amazing and stayed to talk to my husband and myself for over 3 hours during the initial consultation. He explained everything in great detail, answered ALL of our questions, and was completely honest about the company, it's warranties, and the installation process. He was very open about what he recommended we do and how it would help us save money (or if not in some cases) in the future. He did a complete inspection of the whole house even going so far as to check our windows and the air flow in the house. He was extremely professiona, friendly, and clean when doing the walk through. It sounds strange to say but I really enjoyed talking to him about my new HVAC unit and was very excited to get it installed and have a working system finally! The crew arrived on time on installation day and Tony was there for the first day to make sure we felt comfortable with the work that was being performed. Although they didn't have to do this, they even offered to install our new water heater at the same time that they installed the furnace and boiler. Within two days we were up and running and the system has been running smoothly ever since. We just received our electric bill the other day and were pleasantly surprised to see how effecient the new system is because our bill was about 40% lower than the months before the installation. We will continue to use Olympic Aire in the future for all of our HVAC needs!

Dick Distefano came to our house on time for consultation/estimate of services within a short time of contact. He was very professional and willing to work with our needs. He did not try to "over sell" and had all the skills and info to write a final contrat proposal that day. He provided a loaner air conditioning unit until a new heat pump could be installed which was very apprciated. His estimate was well below other estimates, and he offered more stuff/services than two other companys. The new unit was installed in a timely fashion, and all the workers were punctual, professional and courteous. We already recieved rebates from the power company which they submitted for us, and our air conditioning is working great!

The best we could have hoped for. And I do not use superlatives lightly. I had gotten four bids. Olympic Aire was not the least expensive, but was not the highest either. However, they were the only one of the four to sit with us for the time it took to ask all sorts of questions about our current system; where there could be improvement with the heat or cooling; visually inspected all parts of the existing system; took measurements; came back with recommendations for improving the circulation in three rooms; thoroughly reviewed their recommendations for a new system, including some changes to existing duct work and insulation; and provided before and after photos. They were on time for every appointment; the work crew was professional, courteous, and left no mess! The owner did a final check himself and made sure we were satisfied with everything. Two rooms which we were able to use only during the spring and fall are now totally comfortable - it's like we have added usable square footage to our house! Our highest recommendation goes to these folks. Mr. Distefano did not stint his time, but made sure we were very satisfied customers.

Tony arrived about ten minutes early and completed in 15 or 20 minutes. Very friendly and personable, we chatted for a few minutes afterward. Very professional, he knows HVAC systems and their problems. T.D.

Meet with owner of the company, explained everything in detail including price. They arrived on time and took extra care with my home and belonging. Cleaned area where project was done, and then explained everything about new equipment which included warranties.

This company sets the standard for customer service and professionalism. My estimate was provided by the owner, Rick Distefano, and from the moment he entered my home and put booties over his feet, the attention to detail was obvious. We needed our first-floor AC/furnace replaced, while the second-floor heat pump system was fine. He noticed the two outdoor units for both floors were identical in most respects, and that we could save parts from the first-floor system being removed to provide spare parts for the second! Now that's attention to detail and demonstrating concern for the customer! I was thoroughly impressed - no other company even thought of that. Rick spent time going over system options with me, reviewing different SEER ratings and their benefit to my home's unique usage and layout. Unlike most others, he was not pushing the top-of-the-line systems, as the return on investment was not as strong, and the more advanced systems sometimes mean more parts that can break (two- versus single-stage compressors, for example). I knew I was going with Olympic Aire even before we finished going over the proposal. While not the cheapest estimate I received, his included UV light treatment, whole-system air filtration, and a complete cleaning of our first- and second-story ducts. His teams arrived promptly as scheduled, one team for duct cleaning and the second for the system installation. All his employees were polite, courteous, professional, and took great care of our home. Booties were placed on feet as soon as anyone entered the home, any dust left (from mounting new thermostat, for example) was immediately cleaned up, and all equipment brought into the house was placed on drop cloths. When any of his employees smoked, they did it far from the house, and there was not a single butt left on the property. In fact, there was nothing left on the property - not a nail, not a scrap of packing material, nothing! Being an engineer, I have a tendency to ask people how and why stuff works, especially when it's out of my area of expertise. His team was willing to answer my questions and explain to me, in simple terms, what they were doing, how they were doing it, and in many cases, why. I asked Rick to take a look at my existing second-floor system to see if we could get a few more years out of it, and he did so on Thursday when he stopped by to check on the job. Sure enough, there was significant damage and rusting on that unit, but rather than just tell me, Rick called me up to show me the damage firsthand, explain what I was seeing, explain the possible causes, and give me options. Rather than insist I get it replaced right away (which I could not afford - one giant expense at a time, please!), he said the heat mode should work fine, and even tested it before he left to ensure proper operation. I will definitely be contacting Olympic Aire in the spring to replace that system as well. Before he left, Mike (job foreman) took the time to walk me through the new thermostat and air-filtration controllers, to make sure I knew how to set and program both. When they left, my home and property were exactly as they left them. They needed to remove the crawl space door to make room to remove the existing unit, and they replaced the door and framing perfectly. I cannot recommend Olympic Aire strongly enough. Rick's passion for his job and his superb customer relations skills make him a pleasure to deal with. Even calling the company will put a smile on your face! Their pricing is competitive, their professionalism is unmatched, and the pride in their work is outstanding.

The first person who came out was named Tony Distefano. There is nothing that I dislike about them, but I wish that they were cheaper. They did quality work. The workers that I dealt with on both the visits were professional. They wore the booties that they were supposed to wear each time they came in to the house. They took the time to explain what they were doing. When they cleaned up my vents, they showed me the results of what had come out of my vents. I would use them again in the future.

I contacted Olympic to schedule an in home estimate - they were able to come out the next day. Mr. Destafano was extremely knowledgeable , and did not pressure me with any one product. I was fairly aware of products I was interested in, but all questions were answered, scope of work and exact timeline were explained. I was pleasantly surprised to find that air duct cleaning was included with the work. I spent a little more than I had anticipated, but since I had not purchased a HVAC system in 14 years, I had little to compare it to. Also I up graded the hot water heater to a tankless which adds expense. Technicians arrived promptly, finished the work within the time quoted,and cleaned up after themselves. All parts and pieces from the old systems were removed. I am happy with all aspects of the service.

My experience with them was good. The people that came here were very informative and knew what they were talking about. They did not have to call back and forth and when I called them when something went wrong they were right back out. The pricing was good and I spent about $1500 or $1800 on that service. The quality of their work was excellent. They were here when they said they would be. I need to replace something else and I am going to do that in a few months and I am going to use them.

They are generally my go-to people for anything with the HVAC system. The new system installed in 2008 cost $8,000. The service in spring 2011 was $300. The drain pan which cracked in September 2011 was warranted. It was a $1,000 part but I only had to pay for the labor. They are not inexpensive but they stuck to their word and did the warranty work even though they were not happy about it (with good reason). I would absolutely use them again; I wouldn't use anyone else. Update March 2012: I filed a claim with my home insurance company for the $1076 labor cost to install the new drainpan. After my insurer talked to Olympic Aire, the Hartford agreed to reimburse me for the labor cost.

The 2 man crew, arrived promptly, they set up their equipment, opened the furnace, cleaned it. Hooked up the HVAC cleaner, promptly cleaned all the vents and returned ducts.

Very top knotch in customer service. Explained everything that would happen, exactly what would b done and when. Workers were polite. Overall the experience was more than I expected.
