 + -1 moreIt too a while to find the issue but he was very patient and did a lot of testing a cleaning. He said that a part was needed and that I must pay now. I wanted to find out when the part would be installed and pay at that time. He said that could not be done, I have to pay now and they will let me know when the part comes in and when they can install it. I chose not to receive the service. They were supposed to schedule a service call to my condo as well. Instead they just showed up at some random time and I chose not to receive the service. The receptionist gave me a hard time later when I called to find out why they don't schedule first and she hung up on me.

 + -1 moreI scheduled the service online and once I hadn't heard from anyone about confirming or setting up the appointment I called and it hadn't been done since the person who usually does it was out. I was disappointed to hear that since you'd think that when I person who might typically do the scheduling or follow-up for online appointment bookings was out someone would fill in. ESPECIALLY since it was summer and that's not something that can wait I'd imagine. But once the appointment was made everything was good with the rest of the service. ***NOTE*** the service date in this review is not the date of the service.
Description of Work: I needed my system recharged with coolant.

When this condo, they were the HVAC that put the air conditioning, ducts and all of that in this building, they were the ones. They have this wide window where you have got to stay in your place from 8 to 12 or 12 to 5. They did a nice job.

 + -1 moreHe was rude and nasty, I don't want none of their techs in my house ever again.
Description of Work: These charlatans quoted me an astronomical price on a new Coil, the jerk of a tech convinced us last year to drop the Warranty that we had with mccrea since we had the house, now the same tech came back telling us how the AC Coil warranty is only for 5 years, so I have to come out my pocket for everything, he set us up real good. I think when he came last year he new it was going bad so he convinced us to drop the warranty, said house is relatively new to pay that warranty was a waste of money. So stupid us is dropped the thing and what do you know exactly a year later Coil broken need a new one. I don't care if I have to hire a train monkey to replace that Coil I won't touch These JERKS with a 10 foot cattle prod.

I would highly recommend McCrea and will use them again. The service tech(Kenny) arrived on time and was very professional. He identified the issue rather quickly. Explain the issue (bad thermostat) and repaired it. He also gave me a tutorial on how to operate the newly installed thermostat. I'm very pleased with the overall experience!

Service tech (Mike) made a multi-point inspection. He found and corrected some minor issues and added coolant. Fortunately nothing major was required. He was on time and courteous, and readily answered the questions I peppered him with. A very positive experience.

 + -1 moreI had to assist my father in law with estimates for new HVAC as his older system was not able to be repaired. I had 3 estimates and John Prince was the only one who took his time at the house to assess and come up with a plan that was more efficient and cost effective. By far McCrea's pricing came in much lower than other bids. During installation I was not present but my father in law stated that the work was done in a timely manner and the techs were very professional. Mike was able to troubleshoot some other issues during the install which my father in law was very pleased about. From bid to finish it was a seamless process.

 + -1 moreI had to wait almost 2 weeks for the part and when the installation was scheduled, the company shipped the incorrect part. Another part was ordered and overnighted but because the arrival was Friday, it was installed on Monday. Later Monday, I experienced a water leak and the tech came back on Tuesday to repair the leak. I'm finally glad I now have air conditioning as I was out during our hot spell of 90 degrees with the heat index in the 100's.
Description of Work: The tech replaced a defective TXV valve.
