it was good. i changed from my previous company to them. lower trip fee, and they replaced something since then that broke a few days later, and though they quoted me a trip charge over the phone, the same tech came back and said no, there shouldn't be one b/c it was the same thing he had just replaced, and if the appt taker lady had known it was the same thing, she wouldn't have said that. loved it!

Very professional, helpful, and courteous. I thought the hourly rate was high. The work was done well however and I am satisfied with the work as well as the professional care of office staff as well as the tech persons who have been present to service the system on site. Brooks was helpful and answered any questions I had about the humidifier and our present system. Yes, I would definitely continue using this company and would recommend them to others.

Chris was much more thorough in testing voltage of various parts and explaining the unique features of our furnace than past contractors. He had helpful suggestions for setting the dampers to move air throughout our townhouse. Our furnace is a year old, and he complimented the installers' work. He shared helpful information about the company's service plans without pressuring us.

As it turns out they could not service my specific equipment. They don't service boiler based furnace systems. I actually spoke with them and I would think this is something that could have been easily specified in the deal information; nor did they ask me what type of system I had when i spoke with them on the phone.

The job was done very professionally. The workers were courteous and neat.

Technician showed up on time. After he came in, he immediately informed me that his company can't work on my steam boiler. He suggested I get in request a refund. He was very professional and polite.

They had a very difficult time finding my name or any information on me. I had to speak with three different people before speaking with someone that could assist me then she placed me on hold. After all that the earliest date would be Nov 19th. I also need to know around a time of day due to my work day and they don't work weekends. I decided to get a refund and try to contact Angie's list later for another special.

I called and they said they don't service boilers.

We have used the for years. They are really good. They do a cleaning and everything else inside the heater. The man that comes is really nice. They are really good. They have always done what ever we needed.

nd I have been a Contract Customer with McCrea Heating and Air Conditioning Services (Beech Road, Temple Hills) for over 20 years. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this company and the services they have provided over the years. Today I had my Bi-Annual check with the technician who has been assigned to my area in Silver Spring (Chris). Chris, as well as all of the folks at McCrea that I have dealt with during the duration of our affiliation, are excellent. The technicians that are sent to the customer's home are polite, professional, prompt, and efficient. They always call in advance to let you know that that they are either on their way or are have been delayed. . Once at the home, they are very efficient and don't try to convince the customer to purchase unnecessary equipment or services. When this is necessary, their prices are fair and the work done is always excellent. I know that there are many less than reputable companies in this business. However, as my twenty plus years as a McCrea customer will support, I am very pleased with the outstanding service I have always received from this company and am especially happy that I have a "regular" technician that I know and can trust taking care of my routine or emergency heating and air conditioning needs. The were contacted and in the AM and promptly got someone on the job to perform the repair.

Upon arrival the tech said they didn't work on my style of furnace/boiler system. I have now requested a refund for my big deal from Angie's List.

Chris was very punctual and performed his maintenance checks thoroughly and quickly. I am pleased.

The Technician called ahead to inform of his arrival time. He arrived at the time stated. Talked with homeowner to ascertain the issues surrounding the AC unit. Inspected the AC unit, diagnosis the problem as replacing the filters often and consistent basis in order to avoid having the AC unit clog up and stop functioning.

I emailed McCrea about my A/C not cooling on 08/11/14. I was called the same day and was given a service day for 08/12/14. On 08/12/14, I called the company and rescheduled because it was raining. My new scheduled date was 08/13/14. The employee called about an 1/2 hour before he arrived ( Keep in mind this company couldn't give me a time because they don't know how long the previous job will take and that makes sense). After he checked my unit, he told me it had a leak. He gave me several options about what could be done. I decided on adding freon to my system. It is a short term fix which was explained to me, but my A/C is working now. I need to decide about a long term fix because my A/C unit is 18 yrs. old.

Our heat pump quit cooling the house on Aug. 11. Angie's List had a deal on this "A" rated HVAC company for a house call with diagnosis for $49 versus their usual rate of $109, so we took it. The technician arrived near his estimated time of arrival on Aug 13. He opened the outside unit and found 3 burned wires. He replaced the terminals, examined the system and did a pressure check. Everything appeared normal so the power was restored and the heat pump started up and began cooling. The total time here was about 45 minutes and the charge was an additional $86. I am told that the company does not charge by the hour, rather they use a flat rate system. The technician did a nice job and I would recommend McCrea HVAC based on this experience.

I first got an estimate in 2013 and really liked the salesman Bill Wiles but decided to keep limping along for the remainder of that season. This year, Bill came out, gave me a price and within a week or so, had scheduled the installation. I have two zones and both matched units (air-handler and condenser), needed some rearranging of ducts which was done quickly and extremely neatly. When we had miscommunicated one detail of where a return was to be placed, they came back without hesitation to make the alteration. Because we have one boiler which feeds hot water to radiators upstairs and forced air to the first floor, it was a bit complicated to get the thermostats to call on the heat of one boiler to respond to two units at different times (we turn the heat on only when we are on that floor). They took the time and it all worked wonderfully. Their prices were lower than the other 3 I got first and so I decided that with the good reviews I had read, I would jump. Glad I did...It is probably one of the best jobs I have even had done by a hired contractor. And a plus was they followed up to make sure I got the Carrier rebates of almost $2K which ultimately adjusted the final cost to about what others were charging for a 14 or 14 SEER unit.

I would definitely request Chris for any additional heating & air conditioning service that we may need in the future. After attempting to have the repair done unsuccessfully by another company, we contacted McCrea Heating & Air Conditioning. Christ called before arriving, he immediately properly diagnosed the problem and explained the next steps. Christ was able to pick up the replacement parts and install them within a matter of a few hours of the same day. We highly recommend this company and this technician (Chris).

The technician arrived when he said he would. He checked everything and showed me the problem. He was courteous and efficient. He explained to me the request I had regarding a whole house humidifier and provided information on a service contract I had also inquired about. I was extremely pleased with the service and would not hesitate to contact them again. In fact, I plan to purchase a service contract for my heating system along with the humidifier this fall.

He was very informative. Shared all details with me and advised me as to the best course of action. He did not push me to purchase any service I did not need and was willing to give me his opinion when I asked. I am very pleased with the service.

They were on time, and they were exceptionally clean and neat. I was really impressed on how they did the work. They covered my floors, cleaned everything up and they were very timely. I was very please! I was happy, I have used them for years. They treat me with such consideration, and I am happy to be a longtime customer!

The issue was the condenser shutting down intermittently during the hottest time of the day. Chris arrived on time, went up on the roof to diagnose the problem and made a fix. He told me what the issue was, how he fixed it and let me know that I may need to address some other part in the future. I was very pleased with the outcome. The A/C has not given me any problems since then.

Chris my HVAC tech was knowledgable, efficient and provide exceptional customer service. Chris diagnosed the problem; and explained how the part works in the a/c; replaced the part; deliveried the reciept.

The tech was on time and did an excellent job!
