The serviceman showed up on one of the days I had chosen and performed the spring tuneup I had requested, which was a special that I had purchased from Angie's List. Everything went smoothly and my cooling system performed well through the hot summer we had. I would definetly hire them again.

When the technician arrived he looked at my system and determined I needed freeone. The deal was for a clean and inspection of the unit, put the tech stated that they don't clean anything. My unit was very dusty and I thought that based on what was included that would have been cleaned. Regardless he charged me for 3 pounds of freeone (it was a high price in my opinion) and that was it.
Description of Work: They came out and looked at my AC unit and added freeone for an additional cost.

Not well! would not recommend them, and will look at another A/C heating contractor to take care of my A/C and heating issues in the future. Oh! the young lady said she would call me back, that was 30 minutes ago, still haven't heard from her or Ky to apologize for this mix up and total disregard for my time. It is now almost 2 pm, and as i said, I don't mind a reasonable time frame, but I still have no idea, what time they are coming, if they will even come today. She said, "you don't have to sit home", we will call 30 minutes before we come. Well that is not exactly the case, since I could have made other plans this morning, if I had known that the time was not predictable as to when the technician would arrive. You're left with this feeling, should I reschedule, or just find another A/C contractor. Is my Carrier that was installed in 2011 still under warranty that another A/C company would honor? When I called yesterday I was told I had 10 yrs on parts, and the compressor, and just had to pay for labor. Who knows, just feel frustrated, and it's hot and even my dogs are panting laying on the floor.
Description of Work: Nothing so far! Had what I thought was an appointment this morning. I called yesterday 8/19/15 and was told to call back this morning and he could give me a window of what time I should expect the technician. He told me that it should be a morning appointment around 10ish. That there were two people ahead of me, this was at 8;15am, I called back around 11:00 and was told by the scheduler that the person had just left the appointment at 10:45 and was on his way to me, probably writing up paper work, and should be there within 30 minutes. I called back 2 hrs. later at 12:45 requesting to speak to the scheduler KY. Never got through to him, but a young woman got on the phone, asked me for my address, and said that there were several people ahead of me, That the technician had a flat tire this morning, and they had to rearrange their schedule. Notice I said that I called the schedular at 1 and was told he was on his way, not that he had a flat tire, and there were several people ahead of me. I told her that I had been waiting all morning, my husband took off from work, whereby I could go to work at 11am and being a senior citizen it is hard to breathe in this hot house. She said, "I understand", I understand. If I had a $100 bill for each time she said" I understand" I would be doing quite well today. I feel that their customer service is poor and the only reason that i called them was they had installed my new Carrier A/C unit in 2011. To say the least I am very frustrated, don't mind being given a reasonable appointment window, but this is unprofessional and poor service. I will not call them again.

They were punctual and very nice. They came to give me an estimate as my AC was blowing hot air and not cold. They took the time to explain the ins and outs of HVAC-101 so I would understand what needed to be done. they didn't sugar coat the situation but told me what to look out for as well. A good company.

It would have been nice if the scheduler had been able to narrow down the service window before the day of service but it is the height of the summer season. However, they were very accommodating when we had to reschedule. John arrived on time and was very professional. It didn't even phase him when he had to go back to the truck to get a ladder to climb up on the roof to check the AC unit. What was even more impressive was the care he took bringing the ladder up and down the stairs. He was very good about checking the system and explaining what he found. We ended up purchasing service contracts for both systems - well worth it for the peace of mind.

.It was my first time using them and the guy was really knowledgeable, he told me how to maintain my unit. It was one guy and he didn't take long at all probably about a hour and a half.

They found out that my air conditioner had a part that was not functioning. He had a part and let me know that it was expensive and said that I would be better off to buy the part on my own. I called them and let them know that they only did half of the service. They said that the deal did not include the furnace. The technician said that he did not service the furnace because the air conditioner was not functioning. I would like half of my money back. Now I have to make an appointment with someone else to have the furnace checked.
Description of Work: It was advertised as a $79.00 deal. It was advertised as a heating and air conditioning service.

I've had a few not so great, and one out right scary person from Angie;s List in the past, and was hesitant to come back and try another... But these people at McCrae are top notch, trustworthy, knowledgeable, fair, honest and just all around great to work with and the job that they did. I am extremely happy and would highly recommend this team: John Prince gave the estimate. Mike, Kevin and Bryan did the work. Initially, I had a diagnostic from Chris, who impressed me with his thoroughness and confirmed what I feared: I needed a new system, the old one was mismatched (22 years old) and not up to code, the vents were not installed properly anyway.... (My heat went out during the cold part of this winter, while I was on chemo treatments, and this team pulled together and fixed our 1938 bungalow so that the air quality is like a new build). Again, I cannot be happier, their quote was exact, the work was performed on time, they were careful of my wood floors and put down protection, they were very accommodating and on top of that, they did an expert job! Thank you McCrae!
Description of Work: Tore out existing ductwork heating and a/c unit, hauled away. Installed new ductwork, registers, and entire heat-pump and a/c system for my home. Brought dryer vent and bathroom fan vent up to code. Also, they had to knock through a brick wall to drain the new system and install a new vent. AMAZING service, AMAZING TECHNICIANS, and AMAZING work. Well Done!

I had a contract with them. I like them a lot. They are friendly, seem to be honest. The quality of work has been pretty good.

Had a tough decision to repair my 17 year old furnace for $750 or go ahead and replace it. I felt like I could have it fixed and it would last 2-5 more years, but it felt like throwing good money into bad. Add in potential energy savings, better features, and the fact that I will be in this home for a long time.. So I made the decision to replace. Since our AC and water heater were also over 17 years old I decided to replace those as well because it would save money to do them at the same time. I met with Robert from McCrea sales and we went over several options. I also met with two other companies for estimates, but decided to go with McCrae because I felt I was getting the best value with them and was comfortable with the reputation of the company. They installed everything a couple of days ago, and I am so far very happy with the results. Shane and his crew came at the appointed time, and finished everything the same day. They were professional and fixed a couple of little things that they noticed wrong with the vents. The workmanship seemed to be very good and there was no problem passing inspection for the permit (which I got done yesterday. permit was provided by McCrae). Got the standard 1 year free maintenance (they come in spring and fall to check the system) and standard parts warranties (from the manufacturer), but they also give a 2 year labor warranty which is a plus. The other 2 companies had 1 year labor warranties. Overall I am very satisfied with my decision and would recommend McCrae. I hope my new hvac system lasts a very long time.

I called last week and scheduled an appointment for 8am today to get an estimate for repair of my furnace. I scheduled it as early in the morning as possible so that they could come in, look at it, give me an estimate, schedule the actual repair and I could then be off to work. 8am came, and I'm looking out the window every 5 minutes. 9am came and I'm still looking out the window every 5 minutes. 9:40 came, and I finally call McCrea. They put me on hold for 6 minutes only to tell me that they put "an emergency call" in front of my 8am appointment. Why they couldn't give me the courtesy of a call is beyond me - they completely wasted my time. I don't have the luxury of taking weekdays off, and two hours of missed work for me is a lot. I'm calling another company, hopefully they have more respect for their customer's time.

I was pleased with the discussion and everything that was involved in the replacement of a new AC unit at my home. I made the decision to call Chris on his cell phone to let him know that I wanted to go through with the replacement, but after several attempts to contact him, and leaving voice mail messages for him, I called the main office. I was advised that Chris was out of town, so I told the female that answered the phone where I was located, and Chris came to my house a few days ago to give me an estimate on the replacement of my AC unit outside. The female told me that Chris was the one to schedule and handle the work and she would send him a message to contact me. That was in Aug. 2014, to date and within the new year Jan. 2, 2015, I have not heard back from anyone at McCrea.
Description of Work: Provider check the necessary items that I would need for replacement of my AC unit, and gave advise on the systems that they used.
