Description of Work: Installed a new heat pump system and thermostat. They arrived on time, got right to work, and got the install done as quickly as possible so I wouldn't have to be cold for too long. They explained how to operate the system and cleaned up.

Description of Work: They called me and made up a bogus story to get out of performing the service I paid for. I paid for furnace cleaning and tune up and the technician told me I paid for outdoor air condition unit cleaning. He further told me that it was too hot to do a tune up on my furnace and I just needed to reschedule.

Description of Work: Installed a new heat pump system (inside and outside unit). It went very well. Very pleased with the outcome.

Description of Work: I got a check up for my heating and cooling system. Everyone was very nice from the telephone operators to the technician that came out. Even when I had to cancel at the last minute and reschedule they were very accommodating. I would definitely use them again.

Description of Work: The "Mother Board" of the HVAC needed to be replaced. That was not a problem, during the service call we were told it would be 3-5 Business Days for the part to be ordered and installed..... It was over 3 weeks!! If this had occured in the dead of winter we would have been frozen. Additionally the communication was very poor. I had to call to find out the part wouldn't be delivered for a period of time and there was no message sent via Angie's list or phone call or e-mail .... NO COMMUNICATION ! Otherwise..... the price was fair, the service guys were fine... But overall I was not impressed. My feeling was perhaps the geographic area of the service people is too large. Just my two cents.

Description of Work: John did a great job at evaluating our needs and identifying options to replace our heat pump. Mike and Kevin took the extra effort to dismantle the blower unit to make it fit in the attic without any damage to the attic entry. Additionally, they corrected the problems on the second AC unit that were caused by the original builder and previous contractors. In a word, I would describe the McCrea team as true craftsmen, which is very uncommon in the DC area. We highly recommend McCrea!

Description of Work: My AC stopped working. They added a little over a pound of freon and de-iced the coil. I was also given an estimate for a new AC as mine is 15 years old and needs to be replaced.

Description of Work: They installed a new 3 ton Trane XL16i Air-Condition, Aspen A-Coil, Trane XV80 2 stage variable speed gas furnace and TCONT803 thermostat. Also, added a new return duct work and 35 amp outdoor fused disconnect box.

Description of Work: McCrae came as promised on time and fully prepared. They replaced the entire air condition zone, in and out in about 5 hours. They were very neat and professional installers.

Description of Work: The date and charge amount are a little foggy in my memory, but the service was adding Freon to my a/c unit. The serviceman told me that there was a leak somewhere and it would be less expensive to buy a new unit than to find the leak. Two years later the engineer in our condo (I have a townhouse) once again added freon and it only cost about $60. Therefore, McCrea charged an exorbitant amount for service.
