Bentz Electric

I needed some help tidying up some electrical work done by another electrician. I purchased a "deal" from Angie's List. 2 electricians came out. Did exact what I needed them to do in under 2 hours. Saved me a day's worth of work. I was very happy.

The provider was suppose to come out and give an estimate on 2/19/2016 between the hours of 9:00 am and 10:00 am. Just to ensure that I would not be wasting my time waiting on the provider, I gave him a call to confirm the agreed upon appointment time which the provider was totally clueless about. Then the provider stated that he had something else to do during the agreed upon time for my appointment and would ensure to make it by 12 noon. At noon, I called the contractor to ensure we were still good, but no answer, so I left a voicemail. Then finally the contractor sends me a text saying that he would not be coming after I rearranged other commitments just to be available. This is so unprofessional, and definitely wouldn't recommend them to any of my family or friends.

I've been going to him since 1960. I'm not sure if he is handling my case with the up most care. I've had a lot of teeth problems since I've had the radiation. I was there to see him two or three months ago. If it's kind of an emergency he get's me right in. He has old furniture, and old carpet in his office. His punctuality is good.

The work was done quickly and done well. The only issue was the contact with BGE to connect the service line to the new box. Bentz told us that they would just need someone home but in fact they needed the electrician there to complete part of the task. This led to some frustration and taking a day off of work for no reason, not to mention a delay. Bentz communicated with BGE the second time and the work was completed.

Providers were prompt, courteous, extremely hardworking, knowledgeable, and generally great. They made sure we understtod exactly what they were doing and why at each step of the way. We will use hem in the future.

Bentz was prompt, and immediately went to work. We thought we had more than 8 hours of work, but because we had already purchased all the items needed, they were able to complete everything on our list! They were also professional yet personable. We will call them for future electrical work.

Mr. Bentz arrived on time, did all work that we needed done, got his hands speedily on necessary parts, and was a pleasure to work with. He is thoughtful, presents options and their likely costs, and was happy to try out other options when my original plans seemed impractical. He works speedily, is calm and careful, and was a real pleasure to work with as a contractor. Such a joy to find someone who is so practical, calm and generous. He did not propose the most exhaustive solutions for the necessary work, but rather the solutions that served us best. We will hire him again in future whenever we need help with electrical matters. All the work he did was done in a professional manner to high quality standards. We recommend this electrician, who impressed both my husband and myself.

After considering a few electricians on Angie's list, we chose with Bentz Electric. Two electricians came to our house at the scheduled time and worked through a laundry list of items that included adding new outdoor outlets, repairing faulty outlets/switches, running wire to install new light fixtures, and correcting other items that were flagged in a recent inspection. The team was very professional, friendly, and thoroughly answered all of my questions while I watched them work. They were also perfectly willing to use all of the hardware that I supplied. A few hours later, all issues were corrected and at the very reasonable quoted price. I highly recommend Bentz Electric and will definitely use them again.

These gentle were exceedingly friendly and professional. My old electrical panel was recalled and they replaced it. The new one (which was included with the deal along with 10 breakers) was larger than the old one so they had to enlarge the hole in the wall and it needed some extension cabling.I also needed more breakers than the 10 which came came with the $1399 deal. I also agreed to purchase a house surge protector but I wish now that I had decided not to get one because I don't really think that I need it. The extra cost for this deal was $355. The power was out as long as they estimated that it would be. Since the installation it seems to work OK though my husband reports that the kitchen microwave breaker seems to go off more often than the old one did. I've not noticed this.

It went very well and the county inspector was thrilled to see the arc fault breakers. It really helped to bring electrical system of 1962 house up to 2014 NEC code standard; arc fault circuit breakers for bedrooms and bathroom.

Not happy! False advertisement! Left a ?bad taste in my mouth?. Not quite a scam? but the spirit is there. Hiring contractors is a scary proposition. I use Angie?s List A-rated providers to avoid this kind of situation?didn?t work this time. Angie?s List must suffer from some kind of grade inflation. Bentz was not what I would call an A firm? if by that you mean there is no better-performing firm, or that a better-performing firm would be rated an A+. The Deal I bought offers ?Electrician for the (8 hours?) day for $399?. But really Mr. Bentz says, alternatively, that means two electricians for 4 hours each (and even that I didn?t find out until near the end of the time period). The Deal didn?t say ??or two electricians for four hours each?, even though other Angie?s List Deals make the man-hours calculation quite clear. If I had seen ??or two electricians for four hours each? in the offer, I wouldn?t have taken it. Under that approach, I guess he could substitute four electricians for two hours each, or?. Even so, maybe the 8 man-hours calculation might work out if each electrician is working on a separate project for 4 hours. But, if both electricians are working on the same project for four hours, you don?t get much. In the end, I paid $399 for TWO recessed lights! That?s all the two electricians were able to complete in (the less than) fours hours. They arrived at 9:30am and were packed up and in a hurry to leave at 1:00pm. They said there were no other short-time projects left to do that I wanted. Even Mr. Bentz priced the additional recessed lights I wanted at the non-deal price of $165/light. That?s $330 for two lights, not $399?I got less than I would have gotten without the deal! There is even a current Angie?s List Deal for $450 for four recessed lights, including supplies and materials. I had so many electrical projects to complete. I thought it was a great deal, but you can never escape the old admonition, ?If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is?.? But, I thought that $399 was a low enough price to be worth the risk. I?m a wiser consumer for the lesson?or, maybe I should read the reviews more carefully. Angie's List should warn potential customers about such business practices. BWM

I spoke to the provider a few days after purchasing the deal, $399 for an electrician for a day. It should have been apparent that he had no intention of coming out to see what needed to be done. The 12/4/2015 appointment was rescheduled for 12/18/2015 (9:00 am - 5:00 pm). The provider did not call to confirm the appointment and was a "no-show". So, I received nothing for my $399.

I took off work, set up the appointment, sent him a text with my information (per his request). Then he didn't remember and was very rude. Would not recommend this company or John. Very unprofessional.

The 2 guys who did the $39 inspection were courteous and good. However, some of the things they recommended were not corroborated by another electrician. That does not necessarily mean they were false. It could have been a difference of opinion between two different electricians. For example, one of my chest freezers keep tripping - not sure if it is a problem with the freezer or the electric set up. The guys from Bentz Electric recommended that it be plugged to an independent 20 amp outlet, which needs to be installed. Another electrician said that the freezer was fine where it was plugged in and that a new outlet was not needed. He also said the standard was a 15 amp not a 20 amp. I am unable to evaluate which of the electricians was correct. Please note - I could not remember the exact date of this service - it was somewhere around mid-late October. I had to enter a date on this Form otherwise it gives errors

It was great. I think the provider was good. The people that came out were great. One thing about those amounts for hours of work, it always turns out like $349 for 8 hours of work and it ends up with 2 men for half a day and then the half a day gets a little bit sketchy because I have had a deal with a different company and they only had half a day and they ended up doing more work than Bentz did and they're half a day. I question that half a day's worth of work at some point. It's left up to the actual contractor as to what they are going to do. They came out before I scheduled them and then I told them to go away and come back when I did schedule them. I don't have a problem. The $349 was for their time and the additional $150 was for parts. Only $100 was paid to the provider.

Excellent. The team arrived on time, were very polite and efficient, and did as much as they could in the time provided. I hired the company to come back a second time for a separate visit to perform two additional fixes that we realized needed attention during their initial visit. The company isn't always that easy to reach, but I plan to use them again in the future.

Great experience! The electricians came at the beginning of the time window provided by Bentz Electric. The two electricians, Sean and Jeremy, were courteous and professional. They worked well together and I really enjoyed having them in my home. The ceiling fan is working like a charm.

The work was done withing the estimated time. The workers were courteous and I was completely stisfied.

Bentz Electric delivered services as promised. Team was efficient and courteous. It is very, very helpful to have better outdoor lighting now with time change and getting dark earlier. I will definitely call again for service. Thank you!

WOW. The men who came to perform the job were SWEET, and FAST. I'm renovating my whole house and this is easily the best provider I've had so far. Easy to call, schedule, and then the men who came to do the work were above and beyond nice, and even did EXTRA WORK I didn't ask them to that they recognized I needed! Absolutely fantastic and don;t hesitate to hire them!

I never write reviews. It's not my thing. In fact, this may be the first online review I have ever given. But I feel compelled to write a few words today, because of the great experience I had today with this company. The guys who did the work were top notch, absolute professionals. They figured out my issue quickly and had it fixed in no time at all. If you need any sort of electrical work, I cannot recommend them enough.

I paid for 8 hours of electrical work and Bentz Electric sent a team of two to work for 4 hours each. The job went well and the only thing was that I had to get the drywall repaired since they performed only electric work. They made sure to inform me when they discovered that the box for the electrical cables was missing that they would have to cut a hole into the drywall and they couldn't repair it. I accepted this and they performed the work . Everything is working perfectly fine now and I love all the light fixtures. They were friendly and gave me great ideas of other improvements I can make. I am now aware of the drywall repair situation and will be prepare for that for other improvements that may be needed or performed in the future.
