Tile Masters

Great! Tim was very flexible to work around my schedule. Because of conflicts, I had to reschedule a few times, but he was always willing to work with me and was very prompt replying to all of my requests. When he started the project he was prompt, professional and easy to work with. His work was outstanding! He was very meticulous and made sure that the end result lived up to his high standards. The new back splash really brightens up our kitchen and looks great! If I have any tiling needs in the future, Tim will be the first call that I make!

After a couple of calls to Tim, we scheduled an estimate. Tim showed up on time and gave us a quote that was lower than the other estimates.Given his great reviews on Angie's List, we decided to go with him. We scheduled for a couple months out due to busyness in both of our schedules. (We paid for the tile separate from our payment to Tim listed above.) Once the work started, Tim and his associates showed up when they said they would every day. Tim was always responsive to emails. On the first day, Monday, Tim and Pie moved our kitchen and laundry appliances to the garage, ripped out the old linoleum and subfloor, and cut the new Ditre subfloor. On the second day the Ditre was glued down, but as Tim and Pie started laying out the tile, they discovered that one of the tile sizes ordered (our pattern included three different tile sizes) was slightly smaller than what was expected. It was only off by 1/8and quot; on each side of the tile, and though I told Tim that I could probably get used to that, he insisted on doing it right, and was able to get the tile company to rush order the exact tile size he wanted. This set the work back 1 1/2 days as we waited for the tile to be delivered, but on Thursday Tim and Jeff arrived early and worked a 12 hour day to lay all of the tile. The area to be tiled has several corners and heating vents, and they made many cuts to get the tile to fit nicely. On the last day, Friday, Tim and Jeff again worked a long day, grouting between the tiles (with epoxy grout), moving the appliances back into place and hooking them back up, replacing the wood trim along the walls, and putting in some new trim next to adjacent flooring. The next day, we discovered a ding in the deck door track, making the door difficult to open. When Tim called to check on us on Saturday, we told him about it, and he and Jeff came at 9 am Sunday morning to fix it - taking the deck door off and straightening out the track until the door moved very smoothly and to our satisfaction. While they were there, Tim checked to be sure that the washer hook-up was not leaking, and they tightened a piece of wood trim that Tim thought was squeaking. We love our new tile floor! We were very happy with how hard they worked, how punctual they were, and the level of quality that they insisted upon. We would definitely recommend him and hire them again.

It took Tim a few days to return our call to set up the estimate but after that initial delay, we never had trouble getting in contact with him despite his busy schedule.Tim and his associate Pie started work early on Friday morning (a few days ahead of schedule which was great!) and worked until late that afternoon. The job was completed on Monday by mid afternoon. Tim and Pie were friendly, professional and very neat. We are very pleased with the quality of their work and the price that we paid. We would not hesitate to call Tim again or to refer him to friends and family.

Tim is quite the craftsman which explains why he is in such demand. After a coupld of attempts to contact Tile Masters, I was finally able to speak to Tim. It took a few weeks before he could fit me in, but when he started, he knocked the work out in 3 consecutive days which gave the installed materials sufficient time to set. Tim was very professional, knowledgeable and courteous.

Tim and his associate Jeff from Kaso Construction responded promptly to our request for an estimate and kept closely to the bid and timeframe they originally gave us. They started the job within less than a week after giving us the bid. They worked well as a team, occasionally on the job site together, but more often in a tag team fashion. Both of them were extremely meticulous, which we appreciated because we are detail-oriented people ourselves. The entire project took about 3 weeks; with the wait for the shower glass (from a separate business), it was a little over 4 weeks from start to finish. They were both flexible with our needs in terms of start times, etc--we have 3 kids with a complicated schedule of school/preschool/activities--and we felt completely comfortable giving both of them keys to our house and having them here when we were out. They were unobtrusive to have in our home, usually going into the master bathroom and working for hours with the door closed, did a nice job of containing their mess and cleaning up the work site daily, and communicated well with us. Our shower glass is due to be installed tomorrow (by another company), which is the final piece, but we are very pleased with the finished product. Our only suggestion for improvement was to time the tile installation a bit better. The tile atop a new half-wall between the shower and roman tub was set in place but not installed or grouted yet when we had scheduled the glass installer to come meet with us and measure. Because shower glass is measured to a fraction of an inch, this required a second visit by the glass installer to re-measure and introduced a delay of a couple weeks in getting the shower glass installed and therefore the bathroom fully functional.

The project went extremely well, as planned. We contacted the proprietor, Tim, to give us an estimate to fix or repair our bathroom tiles. We found him to be very knowledgeable and very easy to work with. The pricing was detailed and accurate to the final bill. He was very helpful in assisting us in selecting tiles from Mosaic Tile, Owings Mills, and plumbing fixtures, from Home Depot. The remodeling took the expected 3 days, started and ended as promised. Tim worked diligently alone, was very neat and cleaned up after each day. He utilized the services of a plumber to install the fixtures. We now have a beautiful bathroom. Not only do we highly recommend Tile Masters, but we will ask him to return to assist us with other bathrooms.

Tim, despite being terribly busy, was able to come out and do an estimate to redo the floors in our house built in 1928. Upon start of the project, Tim and Steve were punctual and very professional as they proceeded to demo the old floors. They were very patient when little side projects were added and did an excellent job of installing our new tile. They cleaned after every day and we trusted their creative instincts implicitly. We absolutely plan on using Tile Masters again for further renovations to our old house.

Tim was very pleasant to work with. He was patient with waiting until all of the items I ordered were in. He arrived on time and cleaned up very carefully at the end of each day. His estimate was far less than others and his work was excellent. I would recommend him.

I contacted Tile Masters around Thanksgiving of 2010 and arranged for the work to start after the holidays (1/3/11). Tim Whiteman (owner ) and his assistant arrived promptly at 9:00 a.m every day over the course of 4 days removing the tile on the first day (a very tedious job), removing the shower door and replacing it with the new one on the second day as well as beginning to install the new tile around the tub, finishing the tile and grout on the third day and removing the old vanity, installing the new one and a nw mirror and repainting the affected area on the 4th day. They always made sure that my home was protected from any damage due to construction dust and debris and always cleaned up their work area before leaving for the day. Tim never made a permanent change without asking for my opinion first. They behaved in a professional and courteous manner. I believe that we received a quality job for a reasonable price and I would highly recommend Tile Masters.

My experience with them has been absolutely, positively excellent. They are trustworthy, reliable and are here on time. They are very pleasant to work with and very accommodating. They are very skilled. I highly recommend them anytime. The price is fair. They are the best workmen we have had in our house.

Tim inherited a backsplash job that another installer had botched. It required cleanup and installation of backerboard on an uneven surface. He did the job perfectly, then install the backsplash. In a basement bathroom he removed an old fiberglass surround, repaired the sheetrock and installed new tile. We experienced a few delays due to permitting requirements so he couldn't do both jobs at the same time, requiring him to return more times than he expected. However, he did so without complaint, which I appreciated. He gives great attention to detail. I highly recommend him.

Tim was fantastic. He found problems with the electrical outlets and light fixtures and fixed them at no additional charge. All of his crew were very professional and they cleaned the work area immaculately each day. He is very meticulous and kept working until his high standards were met. I was extremely pleased with his attention to detail and will definitely hire him again when I redo another bathroom.

One of the best contractor experiences we have had. I would definitely recommend TileMasters (Tim) to everyone. Short story, he exceeded my expectations (example - communicated well throughout the whole process, was professional, and maintained a clean work environment and his price was very reasonable. Long Story: We discovered a small slow leak from our master bathroom due to old cracked tile around the show that was draining into our dining room. We decided to have our master bathroom redone, since it was builders grade everything from the original installation. Tim recommended a Tile store where we shopped for the tile we wanted (grade/design/etc). Tim picked up the materials himself. He completed the job on time. He did recommend a separate contractor to install the shower glass enclosure that we contracted separately, which was fine by me. He also used a separate Plumber contractor as a sub, which was also fine by me. Both of those other contractors met/exceeded my expectations.

They picked up the tiles for us. The backsplash work was complicated. There were tiles plus individual pieces that had to be put in. They left no cracks on the floor. They did all the work within a week. They weren’t the cheapest, but they were great.

Tim and his apprentice were on time, well prepared, and very pleasant to work with. Once they started the project, they took out our master bath toilet and found that it had corroded and molded due to leaks and floods that happened years ago. They called in a knowledgeable plumber who fixed that and a faulty dryer hose for very little more. They worked quickly and neatly. They had the job done in the time frame they allotted, and he could have charged more for the additional plumbing services but didn't. They were very responsive to any input and used their knowledge to create clean, crisp looking new floors in our bathrooms. This company is hardworking and extremely trustworthy. I would 100% recommend their services to anyone looking to redo their floors!

Arrived on job as scheduled. Very professional and kept work area very clean. Tim took great pains making sure we were satisified with job. He is a perfectionist and was very prideful about job. Job came in atestimated price. Highly recommend and would definitely use again on future projects.

Tim and Steve were both very friendly and easy to work with. They were very dependable and worked hard. They did a great job and always cleaned up after themselves nicely. I thought they did an excellent job with the tile work, and the bathroom turned out great!

He provided a free estimate. He was very good in coordinating the process with my renters. He was quick, fast, and efficient. Most importantly, his workmanship was phenomenal. He was highly educated on the process. I was extremely happy with the job that he did. He quoted me at a higher price, but once the job was finished, he used less material, so ended up charging less. His honesty and integrity really sets him apart from others. I would definitely recommend him to others and use him for future projects.

Did well in checking in with us often to ensure we got we were looking for, especially for an atypical design.

They subcontracted another company for some drywall and other work. The contractor is very good. He itemized the bid. I got an updated invoice after the process in order to keep a track of the budget. The pricing was reasonable and was within my budget. It was just awesome. He was very helpful. He ended up introducing me to a tile company that I ended up using. I was able to get a discount from him for the tiles and it was like a supplier’s discount. The tiles are beautiful. He was very meticulous and the job looks beautiful. His estimate and my estimate for the tile work matched. He was very professional and showed up on time. He was very consultative and made sure that I was happy with the outcome of the job. It’s really spectacular. I would definitely use their services in the future too.

Tim is very responsive and works hard but he had alot of balls in the air and the job took longer than was suppose too. The floor looks very good.

Tim provided a timely estimate when we contacted him in the fall. As our contractor progressed, we let him know about when we could have the tile installation. He did an estimate and visited two more times to help with estimating tile that we purchased separately. We coordinated the date according to our availability. TIm also picked up the tile from the tile supplier. Tim and Steve arrived timely each day and were very courteous and professional. They identified faults in some of the construction. Some they fixed in due course. As our contractor re-installed drywall to square up a wall, they took that in stride. There was no doubt that this affected their time on the project. They also were patient with us and worked with us as we designed some aspects during the installation. They provided advice on best practices and listened to our wishes to complete the job as we had envisioned it. They gave us a very competitive price on the install of the porcelan tile and debunked our decorator's estimate for the glass tile install. From start to finsih, this was a predictable and timely project with Tim and company.

Tim did a wonderful job. Since I am a stickler for detail, I paid close attention to the work. Tim is easy to work with and my hideous blue bathroom is now transformed into a beautiful, peaceful place. I am very pleased with his craftmanship and knowledge and would certainly recommend him to anyone needing a "Master in Tile".
