Description of Work: Comfort replaced a bad breaker in heat pump unit in attic. Did not have the part in stock, so did a temporary repair to get unit running again; then returned about a week later to put in the new breaker. Repairman was very courteous and informative.

Description of Work: Fixed a problem with our 3 2/3 year old gas furnace. We were getting fault codes. Technician discovered an issue with one of the furnace settings. Performed a thorough diagnostic check of our furnace and found it to be set up correctly and operating correctly overall. Incorrect setting was causing the furnace fan to not run long enough after the furnace shut off, allowing residual heat to trip the limit switch at the end of a run cycle. We have had numerous things replaced on this furnace prior to Comfort Air's service. We have gone over a month with no faults since Comfort Air serviced it. Definitely glad we called them (they were recommended by Carrier - the company that manufactured our furnace.

Description of Work: Called them on Friday afternoon, before the Labor Day weekend for an AC unit not cooling properly. Scheduled an apt for the Following Tuesday. They called back within the hour to ask if they could come now, as the tech was finished his job early. Absolutely! He came over and after listening to the description of the problem, checked things out and solved it fairly quickly. We have called Comfort Air out several times in the past year for our aging system. They have always been quick, courteous, honest, and most importantly, they fix the problem!

 + -1 moreI came home yesterday and it was reading 80 degrees in the house despite it being 70 degrees when I left for the day. I lowered the temperature to 69 hoping it would cool off some. When the temperature began to rise in the house, I realized my A/C was broken. I left messages for about a dozen companies...some returned my call this morning and some did not. Those who did return my call either could not schedule me until sometime next week and/or their price to just come out for a diagnostic eval was ridiculously high. Bruce Solomon A/C was supposed to come out early afternoon. I received a call from the booking person about 2 hours after I scheduled the service call and she told me she had made a mistake in booking me today, as the technician had other customers already on the list. She told me I could be scheduled for Monday!!! To say I was furious would be an understatement. At that point I started my search again and contacted Comfort Air, Inc. Marlene, the woman who was taking/booking appointments, was so friendly, so compassionate, so helpful. I immediately booked them and she asked when it would be convenient for me to have someone come out!! We scheduled the time and Chris, the tech, was right on time. The price was so reasonable even without the 15% off coupon. The capacitator was blown, which explained there being no air yesterday and today. After contacting BGE, I was informed that it was an "emergency day" and my A/C was turned off at 11:30 ish this morning. I think I am done with Peak Rewards, although I at least found a good, reliable A/C company.
Description of Work: On the hottest days of the year, yesterday and today, I was without air. The tech initially thought the problem was due to the BGE Peak Rewards Savings plan, but the techician still evaluated the entire unit and found that the capacitator was blown. Luckily he had the part and repaired it immediately. I also realized that in addition to my capacitator being blown, BGE had turned off the A/C since this was an "emergency" day and I was enrolled in Peak Rewards. Some reward!!!

 + -1 moreComfort Air was very responsive. Their rep arrived for the estimate exactly on time and did a thorough examination and measurement. Their bid was lower for the exact same components. In addition, they purchase and provide a ten year warranty on parts (above the manufacturer's five year). They offer both Carrier and Trane. They were willing to do the install in the August heat (it was an attic installation). The team did a great job.

 + -1 moreTHEY FIXED MY AIR CONDITIONING UNIT THE SAME DAY THAT I CONTACTED THEM. I HAVE USED THIS COMPANY BEFORE BECAUSE I HAVE TWO AC UNITS, A HEAT PUMP, AND A FURNACE. THE FIRST TIME I HIRED THEM MANY YEARS AGO, MY FURNACE HAD STOPPED WORKING ON A VERY COLD DAY ON THE WEEKEND. I CALLED NUMEROUS COMPANIES, BUT EITHER THEY WOULDN'T COME OR THEY WERE GOING TO CHARGE ME OUTRAGEOUS PRICES. FRIENDS OF MINE RECOMMENDED COMFORT AIR. WHEN I CALLED THEM SATURDAY AFTERNOON, THEY SENT SOMEONE THAT EVENING TO FIX MY FURNACE AT REGULAR WEEKDAY PRICES. A COUPLE YEARS AGO, AFTER FIXING MY FURNACE, IT STOPPED WORKING A COUPLE OF WEEKS LATER. THEY RESPONDED TO MY CALL THE SAME DAY AND FOUND THAT THE WIRE THAT POWERS THE INDUCER MOTOR RELAY HAD COME LOOSE. THEY TIGHTENED THE CONNECTION FREE OF CHARGE. THIS COMPANY HAS ALWAYS BEEN RESPONSIVE, COURTEOUS, AND COMPETITIVE IN THEIR PRICING.
