It turned out well. I’m very happy. They were on time and pleasant to deal with. There was one thing that didn’t work out so well, but they fixed it. I would recommend them. The quality of the material seems good so far.

He came out to do the winterization, which was done, but he also stayed to fix a leak in the system. I don't know much about sprinkler systems, but he was here for a really long time. Not surprising, since they charge by the hour. In the end, it's fixed.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. I signed up for a annual contract afterwards. He came right on time and gave me a call before that. He was very professional. He made quite a few recommendations to make the irrigatoin system better.

They did a great job. They were very courteous, fast and very competent. It was a great service.

MAPLE IRRIGATION IS THE BEST! When Tim first came out, he walked our property with us and explained what he envisioned our system would look like. He also explained different watering strategies to maintain a healthy lawn. Most other companies came and did the estimate when we weren't home and just sent a diagram. We balked at first when we saw the estimate because it was higher than other bids we received. However, after talking to customers who used other irrigation companies about their bad experiences, we think we made the right decision. Maple uses only top quality hardware and doesn't take shortcuts on the installation (where customers who went with other companies said that most of their problems stemmed from). When we discovered that the installation would overlap with time when we would be having guests, Tim suggested that his team could split the work over two days so there would be minimal interference. The work was done quickly and well, with limited disruption to our lawn. All the places for the pipes are hand-dug so the entire lawn isn't destroyed. It has been a few weeks now and the little brown patches of grass are green and back to normal. On a side note, Tim was even great with our puppy and let him sit and watch the installation! Overall, while it was a little on the expensive side, it is well worth the price to go with Maple Irrigation!!!!! I highly recommend them!

Maples provided service requested in an expeditious and professional manner. Service level and responsiveness of their office and staff led to me becoming a regular customer.

I called them out initially because our sprinkler system stopped responding to the control panel. They came out and thoroughly checked entire system and showed me every place where water was leaking or sprinkler heads were broken. Also recommended moving a few of the sprinkler heads for optimal coverage. While they were there I also asked for an estimate for a french drain system at the bottom of a slope in our backyard. We had been having issues with areas of excess moisture and mud and difficulty with growing grass, etc. So we hired them. The company arranged for all the utility lines in the yard to be marked days before they came to install the drain system. They came on time, were very respectful and well prepared, and made a few welcome changes to the plan. The owner of the company was there to supervise and provide feedback and instruction to the crew. They seemed to work very well together. And that crew worked the entire day, digging trenches and moving soil by hand. When they were finished I almost couldn't tell that they had been there. They made adjustments to our slope and overseeded the areas they'd worked in. They came a second day to fix the sprinkler system. When they were finished they gave us a full tour of what they had done and how to take care of the drain they installed. We were so excited when it rained and we got to watch it work! We were very impressed by the work of Tim, Jose and their team!

Several weeks after buying our home this spring, we tried to turn on our irrigation system, which had not been tested during the home inspection, since it had been the middle of winter at that time. When we turned on this system in April, we noticed that the backflow prevention device was leaking badly, and only then noticed that it was cracked where it connected to the pipe that supplied the water, apparently (as we learned later) because it had not been winterized properly by the previous owner. The landscape worker who was trying to help us with some projects in the yard was unable to shut the water valve off and didn't know what to do, so I tried contacting several companies through Angie's List that provided landscape irrigation services in our area. Each one I phoned refused to do the service, saying it was a busy season for them, and one provider said they could do so, but could only schedule us for a month from that date. However, when I phoned Maple, they were the first ones who actually agreed to try to help us. Not knowing much about backflow preventers, I offered to e-mail them a photo of the damage, from which they were able to determine something about the type of damage, and they agreed to send someone out the next morning, on the way to another scheduled job in our area, to at least shut off the water, pending an appointment to do further work. Once they got the water shut off (many thanks!), they scheduled an appointment within the week to come out and replace the backflow preventer, and as it turned out, the shut off valve had a defective ball valve that needed to be replaced as well. When they came out, they did both jobs, showed us how our irrigation system worked and showed us how to set it properly, and checked our rain gauges to make certain they worked (and added new batteries to them). They also evaluated how well the system was irrigating our lawn and planters, determining that rather than having four zones working, we only needed three, and they made adjustments accordingly. When it came time to pay the bill, and they added up the work done, they even rounded the price down. In addition, they explained that they offered an annual maintenance contract, but did not do any hard sell, saying that if we chose to go with them, they wouldn't need to do anything further until the fall, and that they would leave the contract with us to decide whether we wanted that work done at that time. All in all, we were very pleased with their approach to customer service, and plan to use them again.

When I initially contacted Maple to discuss what we needed,I did not receive a response and, therefore, provided negative feedback to Angie's list. It turned out, however, that the problem was not Maple. Rather there was a glitch in the Angie's list notification to Maple. In fact once Maple Irrigation found out they thanked me because they had several other people contact them who had the same problem. After straightening out the communication foul up, I scheduled an appointment to have the work performed. All went well after that. I highly recommend this company.

It was okay. I think we used him twice since we purchased the "Big Deal" for the first time but we wanted to use them again but we had to cancel because they were just not coming through. They kept trying to reschedule and when they tried to do that for the third time, we said "no, we're not interested."

Maple Irrigation, LLC was prompt and efficient. I'm totally happy with Maple Irrigation LLC. I thought they were good. They took care of the stuff and they're done.

After having another company out three times and my problem getting worse each time they did anything, I called Maple Irrigation based on the great reviews on Angie's List. Juan came out and identified the issue. It was immediately apparent that he is an expert on irrigation systems. He worked quickly, explained everything he did, and gave us options. He also explained why we were having problems with some of our plants. I didn't know that using a head for grass was too much pressure and was on too long for plants. The system was set up to do both grass and plants with the same head. Juan added a new head in a plant bed with the right kind of head. He also added two other heads to reroute the water around my new shed and plant bed. He was at my house for about 3 hours but everything was perfect when he left. Juan was terrific and worth every dollar I spent. I had been trying for a couple of years to get someone to evaluate the layout of my system. It is 6 years old and the plants had gotten larger, and I had added a tool shed and a new bed over the years. The heads were not well located, but the other companies I had out only wanted to turn on the system and leave. They always came at the end of the work day and were watching the clock the whole time. If there was a leak, I always got the same response..."we will have to dig up your lawn to fix it." I always answered, then do it. I can fix the grass or plants, but the leak I can't fix. I usually would get a big sigh indicating they didn't really want to do the work. Never mind evaluating the location of the rest of the heads. I will use Maple Irrigation again and highly recommend them.

After having work done in our back yard, we had a couple zones in our sprinkler system not working. Not knowing anyone we called a company that the previous owners left us. They never responded. So I looked up Maple Irrigation on Angie's List. The receptionist was wonderful, scheduled us an appt(fit us in) and Tim was out in 1 day. He not only fixed the problem but took the time to show me every zone. adjusted flow and coverage,and explained the winterizing process. We will be hiring this company again as we will need to move sprinkler heads as we finish backyard project. I would never call anyone else now after dealing with Maple Irrigation.

Only date 'assigned' was Saturday, the day before Easter Sunday. No flexibility to their assigned date, unless you want to wait a very long time until they are 'back in your area.'

We never had a chance to experience their work because they charged a fee just to give us an estimate and we decided to look elsewhere

Tim and his crew were excellent. They were available to come on a Saturday. The crew was extremely hard working. They hand dug all the lines ( no machine) and carefully put back our sod where they had to dig. They were very thorough in the job and hardly took a break. Tim was extremely professional and personable -which is partly why we chose him. He was able to work with us on a reasonable price. Maple irrigation cares about their work and their customers. We were very satisfied with their work. They even turned on the system for us once the weather turned warm- winterized it and called to check in months later to see if we needed anything. I would highly recommend this company.

He stands behind his work. If he says something he means it. The quality of his work is excellent. I can't say enough positive things about the service and him.

During the winterization work they also identified a couple of problems that needed to be repaired prior starting the system in the spring. I called Mape Irrigation in late March and spoke with Tim to schedule a time to have the repairs made. He took my info and told me I would be contacted in a few days to schedule a time to complete the work. Ten days later I had not heard back so I emailed Maple Irrigation (Tim) to inquire about scheduling a time (Tim mentioned in my earier phone call that email was his preferred mode of contact). Nearly 3 weeks later, I still haven't had a reponse.

The process went very well. We have a large property with extensive landscaping. We were worn out from trying to keep up with all of the watering, so we decided it was time to get a lawn irrigation system. The owner of Maple Irrigation (Tim Whitley) came out himself, inspected the property, and developed a plan for the sprinkler system. He was patient and answered all of my questions. I had 2 other quotes from other highly rated companies before Tim came out. One had offered a plan very similar to Tim's using similar components. However, Tim's price was much more reasonable (more than $2,000 lower than the other quote). Another company had offered a price more similar to Tim's but wanted to use poly pipe rather than pvc. I am not as comfortable with poly pipe. I don't trust the fittings to be leak free, and I don't want to worry about something buried under my lawn developing a leak. I feel that pvc is more trustworthy. Also, I preferred working with Tim's company since I met him personally and knew that he had a crew that he trained and supervised himself. The other company was larger, and the only person I met was the salesman. I feel working through a saleman creates more potential for problems with communication, since he isn't the one who ultimately will be doing the work. Tim's crew hand digs the trenches, so you can actually see that the pipe has been laid properly and to the right depth. The dirt is kept on tarps, and they do a terrific job of filling things in and leaving everything looking clean and undisturbed. A small line of grass is disrupted, which they overseed. The plumbing work is first rate -- Tim is a certified backflow tester. He pulled the Fairfax County permit for the backflow, and it passed inspection without any issues One problem did arise during the installation. Tim had specified in the contract that there was a risk that my water pressure would not be adequate, in which case a booster pump would be needed. We discussed this prior to signing the agreement, and he told me that it was a possibility. However, he mentioned that had done a number of jobs in my area (Reston) and had not had any problems on those jobs with pressure, so he was pretty confident this would not be an issue. As it turns out, my water pressure turned out not to be strong enough for the system to work properly. In my view, the real test of a company is how it handles things when something goes wrong. Maple Irrigation passed this test with flying colors. Even though Tim had warned me that a booster pump could be necessary, he felt badly because he had expressed confidence that it would not be needed. He made arrangements to bring the pump the following morning, and he spent a good deal of time installing it and fully testing the system. Tim not only did not charge me for the extra time he spent on installation, but he gave me the pump at his cost. One of the things I particularly like about Tim is that he is extremely knowledgeable. When I asked him whether it was worth upgrading any of the system components, he did not try to push me to make unnecessary purchases. He told me that the components he had specified in the quote were very good and would work well. He told me that the only thing that I might consider would be to upgrade the rotors to Hunter I-20 stainless steel rotors. He patiently explained the advantages and told me what the additional cost would be. He said that he thought I would be perfectly happy with the more standard rotor, but that the upgraded rotors were something I could consider if I wanted top of the line. Ultimately, I decided to go ahead with this upgrade. I also decided to upgrade to a "smart" timer after doing some research on my own about these. Tim was very honest and told me he was not convinced this was a good use of my money. However, he told me he could certainly install one if that is what I wanted. It turned out not to be that much more money, so I decided to go ahead. Included with the job was free Winterization of the system both immediately following installation in December 2012 and also winter 2013 as well as free spring 2013 start up. Tim contacted me last week to schedule the turn on service, and I had the service done this morning. Maple Irrigation installed the backflow preventer (which I stored inside over the winter), tested out the full system, and made some minor adjustments to some of the heads to ensure proper coverage. Everything is working properly, and I am thrilled not to have to go out and manually water our landscape anymore. Tim and his crew are honest, hard-working, friendly, and reliable. I highly recommend Maple Irrigation.
