Aqua-Bright Irrigation & Illumination

This is the first contractor using Angie?s List and I hit a home run. I had a pool of water 12x30 ft after hard rain or snow. I called the irrigation company that I have been using to get an estimate. This company also has an A rating here in Angie?s List. The manager came out and told me he could probably fix it and did my estimate. Spent a good 5 minutes and told me he will have an estimate soon. I waited 2 weeks for the estimate and received one after I called that I hadn?t received the estimate. The estimate came out to $3400.00. I asked the manager if he was willing to negotiate the price to $3000.00 and I would not get a second opinion. He proceeded to tell me how many discounts he already gave me. That kind of forced me to get other estimates. I decided to call the contractor that I was referred to by my landscaping company and also decided to sign up for Angie?s List. I researched and decided to give Maple Irrigation a call. Tim Whitley the owner answered right away and decided to come by the next day. The other contractor never called me back. Tim showed up the next day on time and proceeded to inspect my whole back yard. Right away I could sense his professionalism. He took his time combing through my yard, measuring, inspecting and asked me questions. He told me that he can ?guarantee? that he could fix my problem. I really liked his confidence and attitude. I got an estimate by email the very next day. To my surprise, his estimate was $1400.00 cheaper than my first estimate. And for $400.00 more, he would take the drainage pipes not only beyond the fence, but all the way to the street which was an additional 80 ft. I decided on the latter as even with the extra $400 it was $1000.00 less than my first estimate. We set a date and shook hands. Tim and his crew came on time of the date. They told me it would take 6 hours and that is exactly how long it took. I really liked how Tim got dirty with his crew, doing the dirty work. As a small business owner myself, I admire an owner who works alongside his employees doing the same dirty work. After all was finished, Tim did a walkthrough with me and explained everything he did and why he did it. He really educated me on how everything works, and what type of materials he used. Tim and his crew added 2 extra drains, 60 ft of extra pipes upgraded ones at that but did not charge a penny extra for me. He had taken consideration of my whole backyard. For example, I have a gazebo and he took consideration of how rain water falls from the gazebo and put an extra drain there. I was so happy with the excellent work, I called my former irrigation company and canceled all my sprinkler services with them. Tim offered to turn on my sprinkler system and do a full inspection of my system free of charge. Tim came out the next morning and went over the whole system with me. 3 heads needed to be replaced and I also asked him to install a rain sensor. Because I was a first time customer, he just charged me for the parts and not labor. During the sprinkler inspection, he again educated me about the whole system, how it worked and found out that I had 3 zones, not 2 that were working. I still don?t understand why my old company never turned my 3rd zone on. We found 2 dry spots which will be addressed a little later. Tim also found that one of the valves in the system was broken and needed repair. I told him to replace that as well. He marked the sprinklers that needed replacing and his crew came later and fixed everything. Maple Irrigation will be handling the sprinkler system from now on. I was so happy with his work, I decided to get an estimate to get led lights installed in front of my house and around my trees. I look forward to getting this done in a few months. I highly recommend Tim Whitley?s owner operated Maple Irrigation and his crew. It was one of the best contracting experience ever.

Maple Irrigation arrived on time with the proper equipment to do the job. The technician was very familiar with the type of lawn irrigation system that is in use and had the expertise in performing the job quickly. Most importantly, the technician was aware of the proper order of shutting off the water supply to the irrigation system in order to avoid damaging the system and causing any water damage to the property. Once the water supply was shut off to the system, the technician used a compressor to force air through the lines in order to clear the lines of water. The technician worked closely with me in order to answer any of my questions before doing any work.

In spite of getting my winterization done a bit later than I'd expected, I was extremely happy with the service I received from Maple Irrigation. Tim seems very knowledgable of his trade, efficiently performed the winterization and patiently educated me and addressed my needs, as requested. Soon, I expect Tim to set up an appointment with me, for the Spring startup and the system tune-up. We'll be addressing the deficiencies found during the winterization. After his next visit, I'll be able to report on what repairs he suggested and on the pricing of the suggested work. So far, so good!

Excellent. They were knowledgeable of the equipment we had, the quality of it, what we should expect in the next few years, and so on. We highly recommend and would use again. Although, we did live a little further out than they expected to travel.

One of the best experiences I've had with a contractor in a while. Look forward to working with his team again.

Very responsive company. We were given a "window of time" for our service call. They called us to keep us advised of their estimated time of arrival. Once they arrived, the two gentlemen looked at each sprinkler head and checked the mechanics of the system before shutting it down for the upcoming winter season.

He was prompt, efficient, professional, and kind.

I purchased the services via a "Buy Now" link on Angie's List. Total cost was $59 and quotes from other companies were $90 - $150, but I did hear about another guy doing it on the side for $40. Initially, I contacted him on a Friday and he indicated his office assistant would call me back to schedule a time for the work to be done. A few days passed and I heard nothing, so I called him back. He indicated he had to let his office assistant go and my call slipped off the radar so to speak. This is the reason for the "B" rating on responsiveness. I certainly understand how these things happen and I was not upset about it, but since I had to follow up, I could not give an "A" rating on this item. He promptly corrected the problem by putting me on the schedule that day. He showed up when he said he would and, as far as I can tell, he did a good job winterizing the system. He also walked my lot and performed a visual inspection of the valves and sprinkler heads, noting a few items that need to be fixed in the Spring. He did not try to pressure me in to fixing it then and there or even to schedule a time for him to return and repair the items, which was appreciated. All-in-all, it was a pleasant experience and I will consider using Maple Irrigation again in the future.

I called late in the season to get the sprinkler system drained for the winter. My husband had already gotten an estimate from another company that turned out to be higher than Maple's, plus they weren't very willing to do the work. Within about an hour after my call, a Maple employee was doing the work. They offered us a one year contract to include this work and servicing the system in the spring, so we took that rather than the one-off price. We were happy with their work and responsiveness.

Overall, the experience went well .Tim is fair, thorough, professional, and does an outstanding job. I was very pleased and I liked working with him.

Good. I bought the "big deal" winterization offered. It was a little sluggish getting the service scheduled/confirmed, but aside from that, he showed up on time, did the job, and I was happy. I thought I had found a new irrigation company to work with (i.e. wanted to continue to do business with him), but he said I lived too far away and wouldn't be able to help in the future. Oh well.

We had met Tim earlier on another project and were impressed with his professionalism and knowledge, so when he went into business full time, we were one of his first customers. An irrigation system was something we had considered for some time and we had estimates from several other companies. Tim's plan was by far the most comprehensive at the lowest cost. He covered all our yard, putting in more zones with several heads in each as opposed to other companies plans. The day they came, his crew was at work digging the trench before we realized they'd arrived! Digging here is hard! But, when they were completely done you didn't know were they had been, they had replaced sod, etc. so well. The materials used were first class and Tim took time to demonstrate and carefully instruct us in using the system. From day one there have been no problems and he again was prompt and efficient in coming to winterize recently.

He showed up on time, was courteous, quick, and efficient. Only downside was that it took longer to schedule than I'd have liked, but I have come to expect that when buying an Angies List Deal. We'll be calling him back in the spring.

It was fantastic. The drainage and irrigation systems are functioning very nicely; though we don't need any irrigation until the Spring. But, our outdoor lighting system is outstanding and Tim and his crew did a really great job. We would not hesitate to recommend Tim and Maple Irrigation to anyone looking for French Drains, Irrigation, and/or Outdoor lighting. He does things the old-fashioned way--he uses quality products and has an eye for detail and passion for what he does. It is a winning combination.

After using another irrigation company to service our irrigation system and receiving increasingly bad and shoddy service, I decided to look for another company. Checking into several companies on Angie's List, I chose Maple Irrigation and was extremely happy that I did. They showed up at the exact time promised, were professional, friendly, and did a great job winterizing our system. Besdies turning off and turning on your system, they also provide a mid season check of irrigtion system which the other comapny never did. I would MOST highly recommend maple Irrigation and intend to sign an ongoing service contract with them.

I recently bought the property and was not very familiar with the house. I was unable to advise the owner and technician of the location of the valves. The owner of the company identified the most likely sources and with some degree of effort located the valves. He kept me informed during the process and although it was an involved process, he maintained a positive attitude throughout the process. He located the values and advised me how the system operates.

Tim Whitley, the owner, answered the phone personally and set up a time to come out(a window of two hours). The work was done quickly and professionally. Punctuality was given a B only because he arrived 30 min after the end of the two hour block, however, he did call prior to the end of the window to tell me he was going to be delayed.

We recently moved into a new home with a lawn sprinkler system. We weren't sure how the system works or whether it was even still functional. Tim at Maple Irrigation called me quickly to set up an appointment and was at my house within a day or so. He inspected the system, showed me how it works and winterized it for the year. There are a few small repairs that need to be done and I anticipate using Maple Irrigation to complete those repairs, I was very impressed by their professionalism and service.

I called in early September to have Tim put me on the list for when they came to the neighborhood. He emailed me and called me to let me know when he would be there. We coordinated and the job was done. He did a great job and if I have any problems in the spring when we turn it back on I will gladly call him to come fix it. It was a fair price and he was great to talk to.

Very responsive to my calls and was on time to the appointment. He was very knowledgable and spent the time to go step by step and explain how the system works. He made recommendations of future repairs and improvements that would help. Would highly recommend!!

From the first sentence of the owner when he greeted me at the door, I knew we had scored a great service company. I have not been happy with the pricing and quality of our previous lawn irrigation company. These guys were great. No hard sell, very reasonable rate, and an obvious commitment to customer service. Bravo! We're going to continue to use them.
