He showed up the same day I called, that is incredible! He was extremely professional. He was done with the job in a very short time. I would definitely recommend him to anyone and everyone. I haven't been this impressed with this kind of quality service in a long time.

I also had problems with my Central Vacuum system, but he helped me find people that could fix it. He went above and beyond his duty to help me with this.

I could not be more pleased with my experience! Fixing the smoke alarm was a very small task which he performed quickly. It took only a few minutes, and he was finished. Because the task was so small and took so little time, he charged me less than normal for the service. I thought that was extremely kind. He is a very pleasant, professional, and courteous man. I plan to call him for my future electrical service needs and wihout hesitation will recommend him to my friends!

He was finished in an hour. He gave us the Angie's List discount of $15 on the job, and didn't have me print out the coupon. He only asked me to look up the amount of the coupon discount on the website! This gentlemen is a first class professional, and we would definitely hire him again, and recommend him to our friends.

The guy was pretty good. He was pretty considerate and didn’t try to get over. His work was good too. I called him because I wanted to change my fan. So, he came in, looked at it and did a couple of other things too. He didn’t even charge me for it.

One of the valuable features of a cell phone is that it keeps an exact history of dates and times of incoming and outgoing calls. 10/21/2011, 8:54 PM - I called Bob Helms of Helms Electric, Inc. in Street, MD about coming to my home for an estimate on extensive electrical work. A woman answered my call and handed me over to Bob who said he was all booked up for the next couple of weeks despite my suggestions that I could make myself available before or after his scheduled work. 10/22/2011, 9:06 AM ? Bob called to say he didn?t realize that his first job today was not even five minutes from my house so he could stop over to gather information for my estimate before starting work. He also said that if he didn?t connect with me today he would call next week. Since I was not even awake to respond in time and he said he would call back, I waited. 11/2/2011, 7:27 PM ? I called Bob to see what was happening since he hadn?t called me back. I left a message and my number. 11/2/2011, 7:44 PM ? Bob returned my call and snapped that I was the one who hadn?t called him back (???). Despite the doubts that had arisen in mind by this time, I made arrangements for him to come to my home on Saturday 11/12/2011 for the estimate. 11/11/2011, 5:30 PM ? I called Bob to confirm we were all set for the next day as well as the time. He seemed surprised/confused by my call and said I would have to wait until he got back to the shop and checked his schedule. 11/11/2011, 5:39 PM ? Bob called back to say he had a job in the morning, but he could make it about 3 PM or first thing Sunday morning. After spending 3 weeks chasing after just an estimate, I had to ask if he was too busy to handle this job. He responded to the effect that he tried to keep himself booked and working as much as possible and that I had taken days to call him back. I started to itemize the dates and times I had tried get together and he hung up on me. Needless to say I now feel lucky that I dodged the bullet of signing a contract with Bob Helms to perform any work for me. However, I am irritated with having wasted three weeks of my time and effort with this unprofessional person and I can?t imagine ever calling him again.

Went very well. He was punctual, polite, professional, personable, and did an excellent job. He definitely knew what he was doing.

we bought a house which needs a bit of TLC. Ed came out ot give me a price, looked at the electric nightmare which was our basement, and told us what needed to be done, what could wait, what should be disconnected immediately. turned out, nothing major needed done, so he replaced some outlets outside, disconnected a 120 line from the main that we weren't going to use any more, and charged me next to nothing.

They showed up at my house on time and they were very professional. Completely the work in less time then they estimated but they took their time to ensure everything was done correctly. I had three estimates of this work completely and Helm's Electric was by far the most reasonable priced. Would hire them again for any electric work need.

Bob is truly a homeowners dream! He answers the phone, promptly schedules an appointment to estimate, and provides that estimate in an extremely timely manner. And if that weren't enough, his prices are quite reasonable, he shows up exactly when he says he will and performs the job professionally. He is also the kind of person who likes to finish the job even if you add something to it, and will work until it is done. He put in about a 10 hour day at my house. His price for the work was also based on an agreement that he would come back in the spring to install outside lighting and GFI outlets. The only thing that kept him from being absolutely perfect is that I have a few wall patching jobs to do where he needed to cut into the drywall to snake in the electrical lines. In a perfect world, the electrician would also do the preliminary patching of the holes. His assistant did scratch my toilet seat (which is the new, plastic kind) and he took the cost for a new one off his bill.

Although there was a warning sign on Angie's List that he would not service this area, I called him. He does service this area, and he came when he said he would. He was professional and polite and fixed the problem. I had tried to describe the problem over the phone, and I thought it would involve more that it did. I do not remember him telling me that he has a $90.00 minimun fee, which I think is high for what he did.

Bob was on time. Gave a free estimate. Suggested that some work I had in question was actually not necessary.
