the service was great . the serviceman was able to diagnose the problem quickly, and then took a great deal of time explaining what the issue was and how to best solve it. Further, the owner of the company has called to follow up and discuss what my best options are going forward.

They took slightly longer than expected (they estimated 2-3 hours and it took 3), but the work was high quality. Plus they were on time and very professional. The best part was that the gentlemen I spoke with on the phone to set up the appointment really got into the details of what needed to be done, so he could be sure that when he showed up he would have everything needed and so he could do it right the first time.

I was very happy with their professionalism, it was easy to schedule an appointment and they came early morning at a specific time so I didn't have to take time off from work. The estimator was polite, asked me questions, and offered suggestions for ways they could do the job. The only reason I didn't use them is the price was more than I wanted to pay. I ended up using another electrician a friend recommended who charged me a little more than half of Ridgeway's estimate.

We had a number of small jobs that needed to be done, and in combination with an electrical problem we needed fixed immediately, gave the company a list of things we wanted them to take care of. The company was very prompt: they showed up early every time I was expecting someone to show up. Despite a delay of several days in getting the estimate to me, once I got it, they scheduled my job within a few days. The work was good and problems were fixed, and the electricians were professional. I was billed in line with the estimate originally given to me. My biggest nit is that they don't do drywall, so the job needs follow-up to be done. They hid some cables behind a flat-panel TV for us, but the wall definitely needs sanding/painting to look complete, and they did not install outlet covers over anything -- not a big problem, as I got everything I needed at Home Depot for under $5, but this could have been done. All in all, the quality of the work was good, and I appreciated that I never had to wait: when they said they'd be at my house, they were at my house waiting.

A light fixture in our living room would spontaneously turn off after awhile and then turn back on later if we forgot to flip the switch. I called R&E on Monday afternoon and spoke with Shannon to set up an appointment. She was very helpful and they were able to send a technician (William) out at 8am the next day. William was polite, professional and on time. It was raining that morning and he even had disposable booties to put over his shoes so as not to make a mess in the house. He inspected the dimmer switch and could detect a slight buzzing. He replaced the switch and thought that would resolve the issue. The entire process took 45 minutes and I was very pleased. Later that afternoon, however, the light again turned off. I called R&E and Shannon arranged to have William return the next morning at 8am. This time he took apart the light fixture which was a track lighting system. He discovered that the transformer was bad and causing the wiring to overheat. I could even see where the plastic coating around the wiring was becoming darkened. Our only choice was to replace the fixture. William told us once we purchased another light to call and he would return to install it. Before leaving the second time he swept up the area, which I really appreciated since some providers fail to do this. There was no charge for the second visit which lasted about 20-30 minutes. Even though the work took two visits I was extremely happy with the service. In both instances Shannon and William were quick and efficient. I will definitely contact them again once we purchase another lighting system. UPDATE 10/10/10 William returned to install the living room fixture. We also had him install a ceiling light in the bedroom; the wiring had been done previously but a light was never installed. Once again he was on time, finished the job efficiently and quickly, and cleaned up when the job was completed. I will continue to use R&E whenever I need electrical work in the future.

The electrician Don had come out did a great job. He worked nonstop.

They came out on time. They did what I asked them to do. They charged a reasonable fee. They were quite polite and quick. I have old house and the previous owner had done some of the electrical work by himself. So, they redid everything properly for me. It wasn?t cheap, but it is correct now. I thought it was a fair price for the work that was done. I will use them again in the future.

The owner came to do the estimate and was very friendly and informative. The day of the work he showed up with the electrician to verify what was to be done before they electrician started working. The electrician, Nick, was very quick, careful, and good at what he was doing. While the gray pvc conduit they ran the cable through is not very attractive, it does the job and is not too conspicuous on the back and alley side of the house. It was a much easier solution than trying to run cable lines through the walls and through the floor. We had originally been quoted for a larger scope of work, and only decided to do a few items off the estimate, so instead of the flat rates he quoted me for different work items, they ended up charging per hour of labor, but it worked out to be about what we expected.

It was perfect. They did a very good job. I had some old fixtures. They removed them. The workmanship was very good. I bought the fixtures but they installed them.

The power in my garage stopped working-the breaker kept tripping every time it was switched. It was clearly a short circuit somewhere, so I called ridgeway because of their proximity and good reviews on angieslist. The electrician they sent was good-the only thing that he messed up on really was that he underestimated the length of the new wire we had to bury underground and therefore he had to splice the wire and create an unecessary junction point. The reason I am unhappy is because of the price-as far as I can tell it was outrageous. They charged $145 an hour for the first hour and then $120 an hour for each hour after that. I would never hire them again if these are the kind of prices they think they can charge. They did resolve the situation, but I could have gotten the same quality at half the price elsewhere.

The work turned out very well. They came on time and the service went really well. The price was affordable.

Estimator/Owner arrived on time, was no-nonsense, matter-of-fact, knowledgeable. Price was comparable to other estimate but they applied Angie's discount so we went with them. They showed up on time when they were scheduled, were neat and efficient and the County approved their work the next day! PEPCO finalized their work and we are happy with the results.

They were great. The work was done on-time, professionally and expertly completed, and the results were a joy to behold. Unfortunately, the motor on the fan died the very first time the fan was used. Woolen Mill Fan Co. overnighted a replacement motor, and Don and Jason Bonnet replaced it (with a good deal of effort) on Thanksgiving Eve ... all so we wouldn't have a gaping hole in our dining room ceiling during Thanksgiving dinner. One couldn't have asked more of these two companies under difficult circumstances. Ridgeway & Ernest does quality work, and their service is unparalleled. We commend and recommend them highly!

Everything has gone very well. They are prompt, they show up, and they do a good job. I have done commercial work with them as well as using them personally; they are good guys and I have always been happy with them.

They came on a Friday afternoon. The electrician checked out everything that had to be done. He had to put in a new connection and a light switch. He drilled a huge hole which really didn't have to be done. He could have used a tube switch. He had to leave after that. He didn't come back on Monday. Tuesday I called, and they sent a different electrician who did a good job. The owner came by to deliver a part and he didn't really check things out as good as he should have. They were supposed to have brought another part back and they never did. When I called to check on things, they acted as if they did not really know who I was. The electrician that did the good job was named Nick. Now he did do a good job.

They sent out somebody who was not very experienced and he did not do a very good job, but the owner came out and has rectified the problems. I can't give them an A because of the initial work, but the owner is taking responsibility for the work so I am still pleased.

Overall, very good experience. The company called back as promised and the electrician showed up on time. He fixed most of our problems, but was unable to solve two issues (which it seems may not be related to electrical problems). I will have to call someone else.
