RIDGEWAY & ERNEST ELECTRIC

It was a lot of problems after they completed the job. They forgot to connect electricity to our radiator boiler. Since it was March, it was cold out here is DC and we were without heat for two days. The temperature in our house dropped to 57 degrees. When I called them to come out and fix it they came out right away.

Don and his workers were extremely professional throughout the whole process. Actual work only took one day and they were able to do this with very minimal damage to the existing ceiling. Very fast and thorough. Our house is so much nicer now!

They were A's across the board. They were very responsive. They did good work. I don't really have anything negative to say.

I requested RIDGEWAY & ERNEST ELECTRIC to give me an estimate on several electrical services. They were very prompt to come to my home to do an estimate. They promised to get back with me within a few days with an estimate. That was on October 5 and today is October 26 and I have not heard back from them. Therefore, I will take my business elsewhere. I cannot speak for their actual work, but not getting back in contact with me is not acceptable.

I have had experience with them. I guess I was 75-percent really pleased. This was both indoor and outdoor lighting. For about the last 25-percent they were terrible. They didn't do the job well and they said they would come back and fix it. They came back another time to do something else so they did not fix it. They got to be nasty. I was so disappointed because of the first 70- percent with them had gone well. The relationship went well. But the last 30-percent included some work that was not good. They were not good on their word to come back and fix it and they became nasty. It was a good bit of money. Once you have people who lie, don't show up and don't fix something that was their responsibility I would say I give them a D for professionalism. I would have considered using them in the future if they had made some effort to make things better, but I will just say they are unprofessional.

Actually I really like those guys. They did a lot, they did a lot so I was very happy to write that cheque. I think they priced it very nicely, we did it piece meal they did like three or four things and that was like two hundred and I said how about if you do this and they said be that would be another hundred and I said how about this, they were really nice they came out to do under the counter stuff and they ended up doing whole bunch of stuff. They were really accommodating.

In fact they actually had a problem what they said that was a, I guess I was using them to try and determine if there been a problem with my electrical system and they said that there wasn't one and turned out there was, so that was definitely a problem there from what they said but I mean again they didn't actually do any work so I don't know if within reason for me to say that they did something wrong if I didn't actually hire them to do anything. I mean they showed up on time they gave me some advise on what to do but the fact that they did not determine the actual problem does kind of bother me a little bit. Just because there was an error they pacifically were being asked to look for something and they said that there was anything there and then I had another electrician come out and said that there was actually fourteen hundred dollars worth of stuff to fix so that was actually kind of annoying. They were definitely professional I was happy to have them come out there and talk to me and I don't necessarily, I can't really blame them for the issues that was determine that was there it's just when you have somebody come out and pay them and given an estimate they'll tell you what actually wrong.

Their service was terrible. After they left, our electricity has never been the same. Because of them, I'm afraid to call any other electricians. We started using the outlet. It was fine for about a week and then one of my dryers just blew. I thought it was the dryer. We put another dryer on the same spot and that dryer blew. The light in our office blew. You could never turn it back on. It was something they did when they were out there. They were nice. They were very responsive. They were punctual and they were very professional.

It worked out okay. I never had work done like that before. It was overall good. There was just one thing that was done at the end which caused water to leak through. All of the lines run into the house. I don't know how much it's their fault so much as a freak of the situation. Overall, the lines outside before the electrical company came, they were left at such an angle that when it rained, it ran all the way through the new box, into the house and onto our carpet. My wife had to call the fire department to come and switch off the electric and had them go spend the night at the hotel. They were not the cheapest. Overall, the quality was fine. They checked the box and they went through everything. They did what they needed to do. I'd use them again. I don't know if it was their fault.

They did a good job. He got me going for a couple of months. They came within 15 minutes. They have great customer service. He got here and actually figured out the problem. He said I had some type of heating and I liked that. They're very professional. He explained everything to me.

I was very pleased with them. They've done so much for me and I've always liked their work. Their price was good. I was happy because the owner came and he reviewed the job and he didn't just send people. He looked at the job and he confirmed that everything was being done correctly and I appreciated that. I was satisfied with the price. The quality was fine. The responsiveness was very good. I will definitely use them again.

All 3 visits went well Good service, professional, came in the given time frame. I tried many electricians over the years and Ridgeway&Ernest was the best. They are now my 'go to' for electrical problems. All staff, including the person on the phone who made the appointments were helpful and pleasant. Cost for labor: $115/lst 30 min. $70 each additional 30 min.

William did great work. He was very clean and very careful about the work he did. I'm very happy with the workmanship. Although the project did leave some plaster repairs for me to do, a lot of care went into minimizing the finishing work required. Don, too, was great when it came to the estimate and scope of work. He found a way to install the light fixture in a way that no one else had suggested. Plus, it avoided the need of fishing wire and cutting holes. This company also communicates very well with its customers. There were a lot of last-minute scheduling problems with the estimate and the actual work, but staff from Ridgeway and Ernest were great about communicating with me and making sure they could meet my needs. I had gotten estimates from this company years ago but went with a different company, but I always remembered Don's professionalism and knowledge. From now on, this company is at the top of my list of electricians.

William was really great; very friendly and efficient. He also used his tall ladder to replace some ceiling registers that I couldn't get to, which was way out of his job description, and much appreciated. He gave me a 30 minute phone call notice so I could get there in time and he was very prompt. (He was also very good-humored about the awful parking situation on the street.)

R&E provided design and installation for outlets, ceiling fixture, heater in GHI brick unit. I provided my own ceiling light and specified the heater. Worked well with other contractors.

Great! I called them because the new disposal I installed wasn't getting any power, and the electricians I usually call were not available until the next week. They sent someone the next day. He diagnosed that the old disposal had burned out the switch, and he replaced the switch and got everything working fine. I also had an exterior light that wasn't working; he rewired it and replaced the switch. I thought the value for the price was great. I also appreciate that the electrician explained the exact nature of the problems without talking down to me.

Don came over to review our requirements a couple of weeks before the work was done. He was so easy to talk to and explained things so clearly and in a user-friendly manner, that I canceled quotes I'd scheduled with some other companies. He sent the quote, but I somehow missed it in my junk mail filter. Once I contacted them, he sent me another quote and was on site to complete the work in about a day. Everything was done except for the new porch light; which he was going to do for me on Saturday as I needed to bring the new light that I wanted installed. Somehow the message got confused between my wife and myself. I thought he was coming at 1 on Saturday to replace it, but my wife had told him that I wouldn't have it in time. After waiting for awhile, I emailed Don around 4 p.m. and we figured out the miscommunication. He jumped in the car and came right over to finish the job! The work was done expertly and professionally and they are a pleasure to work with. I'd found the electrician we're going to use for life!

The first maintenance on the Generac generator was done 6/27/2013. The maintenance involved oil change, oil filter change, and air filter change. The cost was $235. We thought cost was high but paid the bill. We called Ridgeway again to do maintenance in February 2015. (We were never informed by Ridgeway that maintenance should be done twice a year.) They came out on February 25, 2015 to do maintenance. They sent a technician who did not bring a manual or the key to the system with him. Fortunately we had both. He took a long time to do a service which was to replace oil, oil filter, air filter, and 4 spark plugs. They charged us $370 for this maintenance. The bill they sent was not itemized between parts and labor. This was a rise of 57% over the last maintenance. The difference between the first and second maintenance sessions was the replacement of 4 spark plugs. We thought the bill was way out of line and contested it. The response of the the manager was that the price was competitive, and that they had actually undercharged us this time. I went to the Generac website, and called the firm at the top of the list of Generac service providers. The going rate is $275 for two services a year. (Each service is for change of oil, oil filter, air filter, and spark plugs, and $275 cost is for both services). We will contract with his company for next service. We will not use this contractor again.

Our technician arrived on time and was very professional. He got to work right away and was able to diagnose and fix the problem in under 30 minutes. He talked through the potential cause as well as highlighted an area where we may want to address in the future.
