I contacted Rich Gakavian to clean the carpet in our home because we are listing it as a rental this week. Rich would be coming in after the painter/ general contractor and house cleaning service had completed their work. Although I had lost the magnet and could not remember the name of his company, I was fortunately able to find the information by going through my past reviews on Angie's list ( a great feature!!!) I had hired Rich in 2012 right after my foot surgery and what impressed two years ago is the same thing that impressed me this time. Not only is Rich an expert in his craft but he also excels in areas in which many service providers utterly fail. In terms of customer SERVICE-he absolutely gets it!!! Rich is one of the nicest men, not only in his line of work, but in the entire world. He was willing to come to my home after his normal business hours to help with a minor flooding problem that, while I was able to dry much of the carpet myself, was beginning to cause a damp/humid smell to form. Rich came, explained the issue and how he would solve it, and proceeded to complete his job efficiently and with care to my home and belongings. Importantly, he didn't attempt to push work beyond the scope of the problem. Overall, I was happy with his professional appearance, the quality of his work, and the price.

The Tiles though 18 years old in kitchen + Sunroom look like they were new when he finished them, I was almost ready to put a new floor in as no amount of my scrubbing cleaned them.

Rich was great! He did an outstanding job - he successfulyl removed some pet stains andthe carpet looked beautiful when he was done. Rich is very personable, professional, and trustworthy.

Rich and his crew came over as fast as they could (next morning following an evening flood; Rich offered to come the evening of the flood as well. He and his crew assisted in moving all of our furniture to the upper level and in a way that was respectful of our belongings. After moving everything, Rich analyzed the extent to which water was absorbed into the walls and then set out dryers to dry all the carpet and the affected drywall. He used new drying technology that prevented him from ripping apart half our basesment, which was greatly appreciated. Following the mitigation services, Rich's restoration contractor, Paul Zovko, repaired drywall and baseboards, primed and painted the entire basement. After Rich's mitigation and Paul's restoration services, our basesment is better than new (Paul's carpentry work is actually better than the contractor who originally finished our basesment! Not only was Rich's work fantastic, he is an oustanding guy and is always striving to make the customer happy. Finally, our flood happened right around the Christmas holiday season and Rich was able to finish the job by the time we returned from our holiday vacation. We really appreciated the extra length Rich and his team went to finish the job so we could enjoy the holidays. Rich and Paul's customer service was phenomenal; they always answered my calls and were able to come out to the house when needed. Since the work performed was covered by insurance, Rich and Paul also went the extra mile to submit paperwork in a timely manner in order to move my claim forward. In the end, they made the overall claim easy to understand regarding their respective elements. This process can be time consuming and requires an exacting approach. Again, Rich was great in getting everying organized for the insurance company. Overall, I can't say enough good things about Rich and My Carpet Cleaning Service. Rich knows everything about carpet clearning and mitigation and provided upstanding service (thanks for bringing the kids Christmas cookies too, Rich!).

That turned out just fine. They did this is my kitchen. Two employees came out. when they did started the power cleaning started to reduce the grout, but I was glad that they caught that early on and reduced the power.

Uses environmentally friendly products. Provided great information on carpet care. Was very thorough on the job and gave a great price. Very responsive and punctual. Overall I'm very happy with their service.

It takes a bit of patience to get in touch with "Rich," but it is worth it. He is the company owner & is very busy because he does a very good, conscious, professional job. I initially thought his very pleasant demeanor over the phone may have been just for show, but that is not the case. He is genuinely straightforward, easy going, & affable. He explained what he was suggesting as treatments, what he was going to to & how it was to be done. We moved most of the furniture ourselves & vacuumed thoroughly as he requested. That resulted in a nice discount on our final cost. He left us with a spritz bottle containing a peroxide based treatment in case some of the pet stains resurfaced. Some stains did resurface - retreating is helping. We'll see how this works out, but this is more of our responsibility for not having the stains treated properly several years ago.

They cleaned an office carpet and areas of basement carpeting, including one section that had had water on it some months earlier. They removed the stain and it remains clean. I had another cleaning service in the past that worked on that stain and it returned later. I was very pleased with this company's work.

Removed soiled carpet, took out soiled drywall, removed all materials and set up team (plumber, carpenter, carpeting man) to put it all back together. Rich even helped with insurance company.

Went very well. Rick is very nice to work with and the job was done efficiently. The carpet is 13 years old and light colored and in areas that are well lived in. Some spots came up after the cleaning and he came back out to take care of them within a week and left behind some additional cleaner in case anymore appeared. He would not accept our final payment until we were satisfied.

I could not have been more pleased with the service this company provided. I contacted Rich by phone and in our initial conversation he spent a lot of time allowing me to discuss what I wanted, where the problem areas were, etc. We set up an appointment for him to come over, see the carpet and make some measurements. He came at 6:30 on the dot, he was friendly and professional. He spent a lot of time explaining the work he would do. I had some areas in the living room I thought were hopeless, as companies before did not get those areas clean. He had ideas of how to clean them better. He even had a special light that he used to see what the best solution might be. The day of the work he and his assistant ( I think his name was Mark and he was very nice and also very professional) came to my house in the time frame promised. They worked non stop for several hours ( and my house is not very big at all) The results were amazing. The carpets were cleaner than I had ever seen them. The best part was my living room rug was so much brighter, and Rich got out all the stains that I thought were going to be there forever. They cleaned up after themselves, you could not tell they had been there except for the clean , beautiful carpets.For the work they did and the results, I thought the price was very fair. Anyone needing carpet cleaning should strongly consider this company.

Rich is absolutely awesome. He came out on short notice late at night, worked over the weekend, and did a fantastic job. He is a pleasure to work with, accommodating, and very professional. I would HIGHLY recommend him.

I was very pleased with my encounter with My Carpet Cleaning Service, from my first contact with Rich, the owner, to the finished "product". Rich referred me to his website which is very comprehensive and answered just about all my questions, helping me make the decision to use this company. Mark was assigned to clean my carpets. He called with a 10-minute notification of his arrival time and he was very prompt. He was also very professional and thorough. I appreciated the care he gave while moving my furniture. All pieces were left on Styrofoam blocks or with plastic underneath to provide bleeding or staining while the carpet was still damp. Unfortunately, I picked a day of flooding rains to have my carpets cleaned and as a result of the dampness/humidity it took longer than anticipated for the carpet to be completely dry. I was told about 12 hours, but I allowed 24 hours before removing the foam/plastic since I still felt damp spots after the initial 12 hours. Bottom line is the carpets were thoroughly cleaned, at a fair price, by a competent professional. I would not hesitate to use My Carpet Cleaning Service again, or to recommend this company to others.

Hratch Gakavian, the owner of the company, responded immediately upon my call, even thought this was on a weekend, and personnaly oversaw all the work vacumning up the water that had leaked from the bathroom into the kitchen ceiling, walls, and cabinets. He then set up a containment area to dry out the walls and isolate the kitchen so there would not be exposure to any mold that had grown (the leak had been going on for a long time. He made sure that the exhaust air was properly vented outside, and used HEPA filters and other technology to minimize any exposure by my tenants. The contractors that came in to do the repairs of the wall and actual mold decontamination said that Hratch's timely and very thorough efforts saved my a great deal of money because he dealt with the water problems so quickly and effectively. I have hired My Carpet Cleaning Services three times in the last six months, once to clean the carpets in the house in which I live, and twice to perform cleanup for water damage problems in my rental house, and each time have been extremely pleased with the thoroughness and professionalism of the service provided. Mr. Gakavian is a very conscientious owner, and one of his best traits is his frequent communication regarding the status of his work. As a landlord, I really appreciate knowing what is going on at all times. I would happily recommend this Silver Spring company to anyone because of their exceptionally high quality of service and reasonable pricing.

We were pleased with their work. The owner was very prompt and responsive to my calls. They brought their own fans to dry out the carpet. They also put holes in the ceiling to dry out the water that had come through the ceiling. They put fans in those holes. The owner came back during the job to check on the progress and also checked on a sensor to see how much moisture was in the wood and repositioned the fans accordingly. They took down the doors, and when they put them back up, there was some dirt left behind on the doors.

Rich and his guys are fantastic and we would definitely use them again. Any time water gets into your house, it makes you nervous. They went above and beyond to make sure it was dried completely, clean and safe.

He was very nice and very thorough. He was on time for the appointment and responsive when I called. However, I went with another provider who was a bit more in my budget.

I really liked his reviews from Angies List which is why I chose him. He was very professional and he showed up on time. It took him a couple of hours to get the rug cleaned. I am satisfied with the outcome.

They were responsive and they came quickly. They also offered fair prices. The carpet looks great, they did a good job. This was the first time I had used them.

They did a great job. I was just moving in and they were able to come out right away to clean the carpets. They explained things well to me and left some fans behind to let the carpet dry properly. They covered the steps so when the movers came in, they would be protected.

To prep my house for sale, I had the 17-year old cream colored economy grade carpet completely cleaned by a heavily advertised co using a coupon special ($99 coupon, but added deep cleaning options, so $225). Unfortunately they couldnt remove many stains and even added new ones and marks on the wall when they dragged their hoses everywhere without protecting the walls or the floor. My realtor recommended Rick as the top carpet cleaner in the business, who had done the hardest jobs for many of her clients. This would save me from having to replace my worn out and dirty stained carpets, which would have cost me 3-5x his fees. He came the next day (my realtor is prominent and a major referral source) in his own state of the art truck, did all the work himself (his helpers were out) - moving furniture and setting up guards on the wall, moving his equipment (he also had a kit of his own stain removal tools) and cleanup. If one obvious stain remained then the whole room's carpet would have to be replaced, and to match, likely the whole floor would have to replaced too. Before starting I showed him specifically and asked him how sure he was of getting out stains that the first co. couldnt get out, and he was "very sure" so I hired him. He took out: many gallons of old coffee stains, the dried on red candle wax, permanent markers, oil paints, yellowed edges and water stains. Everyone was amazed; the carpet was turned from replace to acceptable. He did require lots of water and left a noticeable large stain under his truck (that went away after a few weeks) and he was relatively expensive, but the value provided made him money well spent. His reviews are all top notch and he backs it with satisfaction guarantees.

After moving into a new house, we hired Rich to help us clean about 600 square feet of our basement carpet. Originally, we had asked for a pretty ambitious cleaning, but when we decided to scale it back, Rich was very amenable and flexible and explained our options. He and his co-worker performed the work we asked on time, with no hassle, and we were very satisfied. We would definitely hire them again and recommend them to anyone.
