1. First I was given a 4-hour arrival window, 12 noon - 4 pm. The plumber arrived at 4:30 pm 2. Plumber misdiagnosed the problem. He determined that the leak was in the pipes coming from the guest bathroom over the leaking area. He cut wholes in the kitchen ceiling, to "fix" the pipes, replaced and sortered the pipes and left. A few days later, the leaking began again. I called Len to fix the repair under their 1-year guarantee of their work. The second plumber declared it a new leak, and therefore not covered by their guarantee, stating that they would only repair it at their regular rates. I was shocked. I had the plumber get his supervisor on the phone and he refused to honor the guarantee as well!! Their logic was that I couldn't prove that the leak was from the same place!?!?!? It was the exact area. I argued that they couldn't prove that is wasn't. I also pointed out that one of the services they provided was problem diagnosis; therefore, at a minimum the plumber failed to properly locate the leak source. They still refused. I subsequently hired JW Home Improvement. They shortly discovered that the problem was never in the pipes in the ceiling, it was from the sink trap and drain that was right above that spot. Because it was in the guest bath, which is rarely used, it would leak intermittently. That's why the leak came and went. Len the Plumber sucks, is a rip off. NEVER USE THEM!!!! This is such a shoddy business practice and shoddy work. It should be illegal!
Description of Work: There was a leak in my kitchen ceiling on Sunday, October 16, 2016 and I called "Len the Plumber" because they don't surcharge for weekend/same day service.

They said that it wasn't in their scope of service. They were very responsive initially. They had a one-time charge for coming out. If they told me that they couldn't provide the service, they could have been helpful. They could have done more as well. There should have been more clarity.
Description of Work: They came over and assessed an issue we were having. We needed a new drain line put in. We didn't end up using them.

Went very well. My tech, Cliff, was professional, polite & knowledgeable. The wall needed to be cut so he could get to the pipe that was leeking. Replaced the sections that had holes. Upon completion, the work area was cleaned up & he checked to ensure the water was turned back on & the faucets & shower were in good working order.
Description of Work: Emergency- pipe burst behind the wall. This emergency occurred on a Sunday and was called in @ 4:20AM. I received a call @7:30AM to let me know the techs name & time of arrival (8:20). This was followed up with an email which included a picture.

The plumber was originally supposed to come on a Saturday morning. We waited all day and were told only late in the day that he could not make it. As compensation for wasting an entire day waiting, the company said someone would come out the next day, Sunday, and not charge the $49 visit fee. The plumber arrived early the next day and could not immediately find the cause of the low water pressure. He told us (in very broken English) that he would charge us $349 to figure out the problem and if he couldn't resolve it, we would have to call in his supervisor to elevate the request but that he would still keep the $349 fee. I informed him that we should not be paying the $49 visit fee. He said he didn't know anything about this agreement and then changed his story by saying that the $349 did not, in fact, include the $49 visit fee. After about 15 minutes trying to figure out our system, I showed him the filter and asked him to check. He did and saw that the filter needed to be changed, which he subsequently did (we had extra filters to use). The job took 5 minutes. No matter, he left with the $349.
Description of Work: Changed the sediment filter (we had just moved in and did not suspect it was the cause of the low water pressure)

I am uncomfortable with an upsell. The provider wanted to buy a new faucet instead of just tightening it. I felt extremely over charged for the service provided. Excessive fee for minimal service that was provided. I felt ripped off.

If Trevor Pope comes to your house, do not let him in! This guy gave me an estimate of $4,600 to install 25' of gas piping in my large crawlspace. As I was reading the BTUs from the different oven burners that I purchased he kept saying wow, oh, oh, as in the more BTUs the more expensive. This is true, but, it's a matter of a 1/2" pipe vs. a 3/4" pipe, and you can get onto Home Depot website to see the price of piping, a foot is cheaper than a loaded latte! He told me since it's such a higher BTU it's $1,000 more, otherwise it would have been $3,600. The cherry on top: When he gave me the final $4, 600 estimate I told him, if I use your company you will take off the $50 estimate fee, right? He quickly said, oh the real prices $4,650 so I already took off the $50. BullSh*T! - Just Don't Call Len the Plumber!!!!! And BTW, my next two estimates: $2,100 and finally $1500. If you have too much money on your hands, call them.

I had a leaky facet I guess I should say it's really the hose that goes from the bottom of your facet to the water pipe, it a drain hose that people have if they have a garbage disposal but the water passes through that flexible pipe to the facet to give me water well it was broken and was dripping water when I turn on the water it came down under the sink so I had to get that replaced as quickly I could. It was almost like an emergency because of the water coming down under the sink, of course if I didn't turn it on it wasn't coming down, but it was already a lot of leakage there. The replace the whole facet assemble because they said they couldn't just do the hose I would have loved if they had just done the hose but they said they couldn't do that. Don't use them They were prompt they did come out on a Sunday that was good, they advertised it they did do it. What was bad was the price of the replacement and the length of time that it took him to do it, I didn't feel like he was not very well trained, I did not think that it should taken him that long. I thought he was not skillful.
Description of Work: I used Len The Plumber for plumbing service. They gave me a new facet they said they couldn't replace just the hose.

We hired Len the Plumber (contract #454051, dated 6/3/16, total cost $2,177) for work in our condo apartment in Washington DC, involving removal and replacement of plumbing in three bathrooms (shower diverters, T&S faucets, deck mount lav faucets). After completion of work and full payment of contract charge, the very next day we discovered serious damage created during installation of lav faucets, consisting of deep scratches and gouges to the marble vanity top in the immediate area around the faucet. We called and reported the damage to ?Edgar?, manager in the Silver Spring Office, had photos taken and sent to him, and requested his attention to the matter. Subsequently, we followed up with three voice mail messages left on his telephone. We received no response to these messages. Seeking resolution of this matter, we further followed up by sending formal written notice of the issue to the Baltimore office of Len the Plumber, by certified mail dated 6/27/16, and again by certified mail dated 8/2/16. Both letters were received and signed for by ?Holly Perry?. Up to this day 10/18/16, we have received absolutely no response from Len the Plumber, despite explicit declaration in the contract that ?It is agreed that the Company respond to any client written issue within 30 (thirty) days of receipt of the certified letter?. This experience has taught us that this is a company that ?takes your money and runs away?, failing to meet not even its minimum declared obligation of responding to a formal written notice, while also evading its professional responsibility to provide quality service without leaving behind serious damage created in performance of that service. Let this be a warning to those of you considering hiring this company. You would be better served by looking elsewhere for a reputable and reliable plumber.

He did a pretty good job, I just don't like his attitude. He still doesn't know how to respond to my question and stated he doesn't know everything. I didn't want to deal with another person to do this so I just went ahead and used him. I like the work. Price was about right. He found out what the problem was. I won't use his company again. He gave a 4 hour time frame and came within the last hour so they showed up on time. Professionalism is not good. I don't want to put in a bad word for the whole company, just the one employee. He was kind of rude. He was cocky. He's acting like I'm a female asking stupid questions. He got frustrated. He was talking down to me. He asked if there someone else in the house that he could talk with.

They did a nice job. He even told me that I could get a discount on ordering a part through Amazon versus the manufacturers of the faucet, so that was nice. It's just the problem couldn't be resolved but he told me what the issue was, but he didn't have the part that I needed. I thought it was a kind of a very specialized item that was attached.

This was fair. They recommended some things. They are very expensive. They recommended a part that didn’t replicate the part that they had, it was only one they had on the truck. The technician was nice but I wasn’t pleased with the part and I could have gotten a free part. The part that was changed was a faucet for my kitchen sink. The only on their truck was an alternate part which had I know I would have gotten the part for free from the company and during the conversation that’s what he said but I was in an emergency so I needed it. The cost was astronomical. The part is a fiber glass part. It looks cheap and it feels cheap. The other one I had was like heavy duty stuff like you would normally see in a kitchen and this is somewhere between paper and plastic. It was the product and not the guy. I had them give me an estimate for other work in my house and everything was way out. The service technician was ok and I was obvious that he know what he was doing and he identified my problem. The service technician was ok and I was obvious that he knows what he was doing and he identified my problem. On the phone when I set up the appointment the lady said yes we have those parts. I explained the part I needed, it was MOEN but when he got here h got another part.

The whole process was seamless. The plumber was prompt, courteous, efficient and knowledgeable. He had to replace a 40 year old toilet and water lines that hadn't been used in years....not pleasant, but he was awesome and did an outstanding job. He had to drag all equipment and new toilet up 3 flights of stairs and was a trooper, on an exceedingly hot summer day. I can't say enough about the entire company! Would highly recommend them.

Do NOT use this company!!! I cannot stress that enough. On Monday, called Len The Plumber because I had a massive amount of water coming through the ceiling on the 2nd floor. The Technician pulled the toilet in the 3rd floor Master Bathroom and snaked the stack line. The Master Bathroom drain began to flow again. The Technician did not check any of the other toilets or drains in the house. When asked what the clog was, Technician responded that he did not actually pull out any clog, but considered the job done. 3 days later, I had a flood in my basement, 1st floor. Called Len The Plumber back and was told that they could not come out b/c they were booked for the night, even though I told them that my house was actively flooding! Ended up calling Roto-Rooter who came out to fix the problem. Roto-Rooter technician fixed the clog by removing a blockage in the main sewer line to the house. However, in addition to the split ceiling on the 2nd floor, I now had sewage all over the 1st and 2nd floors, resulting in the need for a Water Mitigation team to come in and clean up the mess and a property claim being filed with insurance in order to repair my house. Both the Roto-Rooter plumber and the Insurance Adjuster said that they believe that the Len The Plumber Technician did not clear the pipes; rather, just pushed it down the pipes further, resulting in the 2nd even worse overflow situation. After the issue was fixed, I called Len The Plumber and asked to speak to a supervisor. I was transferred to someone, but couldn't get his name, and explained the situation. He actually told me that since the Master bathroom drains were working again, the 2nd problem must be a result of another clog happening within the 3 days. Um, what? I told him that no reasonable person would believe that in the course of 3 days, I developed not 1 but 2 major blockages in my pipes. I asked for a legible copy of the invoice so that I could turn it into insurance and also a refund on at least the charge for the supposed "clearing" of the pipes. I was told that I would receive the copy of the invoice and then he would be back to me on the refund, but that they do not refund money. I called on Friday and I had to call again on Tuesday because no one got back to me and I still do not have a copy of the invoice. When I called, there were no notes on my file regarding my conversation with the supervisor and, even after explaining my issue, I was transferred to "Cynthia" in Dispatch who answered the phone with an "um, so, yeah, you need to have someone come and clear your drain, right?" I am still waiting on a call back from the supervisor. STAY AWAY from this company! Not only do they have incompetent technicians, it is obvious that the incompetency and lack of any type of customer service comes from the top down!
