Arranged to start job along with Miss Utility marking, crew was on time to start and professional. Kept the work site clean and safe during the work. Completed the job the same day and finished on time. Have had no water ponding on the sidewalk since May, 2009. Great job.

The crew arrived earlier so as to beat the rain forcast. Work was completed within 2 hours and looked great.

Our basement flooded twice this year, with the heavy rains. A home inspector and a structural engineer told us that we had a negative grade which caused surface and ground water to flow toward the house and pool up at the foundation. This caused water invasion through the foundation walls (cinderblock) and also contributed to an overflow of the external drain. I chose Kuipers because he is a landscaper, and Angie's list reviews claimed he was very honest on price, and I concur 100%. Many waterproofers will try to sell you an expensive sump-pump system that might not even work. Landscaping pushes the water away before it even reaches the foundation and is more cost effective. Kuipers was quick to respond to my voicemail and showed up on time for the estimate with his lead crew member. I liked this because it meant the people who would do the actual work participated in the quote and there wouldn't be any misunderstandings when the job was performed. On job day Kuipers crew showed up right on time, 8am sharp. His crew are amazing. Highly energetic, they worked their butts off and were very friendly. The were very careful not to damage any flowers or bushes while regrading. Quick yet careful is the best way to describe his crew. Since installation we have had several pretty bad rainstorms and the system has worked as planned. Of course we are in the dry season now, but come next spring we will get the real test and I'll post any updates if necessary.

They were punctual and responsive with all calls, the estimate and installation. They came when they said the would. Work was done quickly. This spring we have had the a ton of rain and there hasn't been a drop in the basement (knock on wood). Only concern: I wish they would have consulted me about running pipes around some tree roots.

Greg and his team were available to start within days of our acceptance of his proposal. His crew showed up right on time and got right to work. His Hispanic crew chief was respectful, courteous, and spoke perfect English. The crew was also very kind to my toddlers, who wanted to watch the process. At one point, the men found a toad, which they brought over to show the kids. Greg himself came by to oversee the work, and taught my little ones how to look for fossils in the riverbed stones he had just delivered. They were enthralled. In addition to doing the work we had agreed upon, Greg also took care of re-laying (and re-sloping) a small flagstone patio... at no charge. He gave us extra riverbed stones to put in our drainage ditch by the street... at no charge. He then gave us 10% off on top of all that, which brought the total cost to less than half what we were quoted by another company. After the work was done, the swale ended up looking different than what we had envisioned-- we had thought the location of it would be more centered in the flowerbed. Greg explained that its location was necessary to avoid the root system of a nearby tree, which made total sense. The only other thing we didn't think to ask about in advance was the color of the stones. They are much brighter than the surrounding stone wall and boulders. Would have been nice to match the two up a bit better, but not a big deal. I'm sure they will weather a bit, and planting some shrubs throughout the swale will help with the aesthetics. All in all, what a great experience-- we will highly recommend Kuipers to anyone who asks.

Great from start to finish. Greg Kuipers came when asked to do an estimate; he was punctual and had a much simpler solution than another landscaper had suggested. He gave me the estimate on the spot and also gave his cell number, making it easier to catch up to set up the job. The job was weather-dependent; otherwise, he came exactly when he said he would (and accommodated my schedule, also). His crew finished the job in a timely fashion and he came to inspect their work with me before I paid him.

Called Greg on a Saturday after the first guy I hired left me with a half finished project. He showed up the next day for an estimate & while it was a little more than I hoped to pay, it was probably what I should have been paying (first guy was cheap... but you get what you pay for). I told Greg I wanted to think about it. That afternoon he called to say he would discount it a bit & could do it the next day if I wanted. I put him off but then called him back the following day. He was there Tuesday morning 30 minutes earlier than he said he would. By the time I got home that afternoon the entire job was done. He did a bang up job in no time & was professional, courteous & smart. I asked him to do one thing & he told me to save my money--which I really appreciated.

We had an excellent experience with this company. We had some previous work from another company and it never fixed anything. Once this company came they diagnosed the problem and fixed it, which was wonderful. We were thoroughly pleased.

The guy was a very nice guy. He was prompt and replied very quickly. I felt the price was very high. At the very end of the pipe, it goes up instead of down. I told him and he said don't worry about it. He never really finished like he promised he would.

The job was done very quickly and the results are fantastic; four months later what used to be a dump is now a beautiful backyard.

They arrived on time and completed the job in one day. So far the solution appears to have worked. The work they did was very professional. There is grass growing where we never had grass before!

Fantastically well. He came precisely when he said to look at the situation. We knew that the yard didn't drain correctly, but didn't know if there were foundation problems too. We openly discussed options and he made constructive, less expensive, suggestions such as our reseeding the bermed area instead of paying for sod. He called the night before coming as he said would, and the work was completed exactly as he said it would be. In the middle of a really heavy and long-lasting thunderstorm, water was pouring out of the drain pipe where it empties down in the back yard. The basement wall stayed totally dry! And as a big help to my semi-retired husband, they spent 15 minutes and used the trencher to dig a new channel to relocate a buried electric line, for free.

They did a good job. They came and gave me a prompt and reasonably-priced estimate and did the work over a weekend when I was out of town. When I came back, the work was done and the site cleaned up. The system works quite well.

They did a great job. We had actually expected to have sump pump installed in our basement, but Mr. Kuipers assured us that after his work that we would have no more flooding problems. Well, we didn't believe him until now that a year has passed and several major downpours have occurred and our basement is dry as a bone. The only minor complaint I have was that they did not replace the deck boards as precisely as I would have liked, but we had planned on replacing them anyway. Also he said that the work would take about 1-2 days and it only took a half day, which leads me to believe that I may have been a bit overcharged-I can't be truly sure of that. In any even this should not detract from the fine work that was done.

I immediately went to Angie's List to find someone. Unfortunately, many landscapers either don't do this work or don't list it as a specialty. Fortunately, there was at least one or two but I really had to search. I found Greg on Wednesday. He gave me a bid on Thursday and did the job on the following Monday. He and three other workers cleared all the ground cover and debris away from three sides of the house, put down at least 8" of clay soil followed by a covering of mulch. He built a French drain between my house and the neighbor's so the run off from my place wouldn't impact the neighbor. He buried all the drainage pipes and installed a window well where needed. All brush and debris were cleaned up and hauled away. Now I have to hope this works. His listing indicates that he only works in Montgomery County, but I called anyway and he was willing to come to Northwest DC.

Gregis super friendly and does great work. The job was thorough, well thought out and Greg was a pleasure to deal with. I highly recommend Kuipers for landscaping/drainage work.

GREG KUIPER REGRADED THE FRONT SIDE OF THE HOUSE. HE ALSO INSTALLED A SUMP PUMP. HE HANDLED EVERYTHING PROFESSIONALLY AND EFFECTIVELY.
