I called JH Peterson having used their services once before. The woman who answered the phone was very helpful in trying to set up an appointment. She also advised me that, since I had used their services before, I would receive a discount if they carried out the installation. On the date of the visit, the plumber arrived within the allotted time. He tried to contact me to provide a quote (I was at my office on another call). I returned the call within five minutes by which time he had already left. I proceeded to contact the office as I was not getting an answer from the plumber on his cell phone. Again, the woman was helpful in putting us in touch. The plumber advised me that the total installation cost would be $730 (approximately $500 in labor and a further $230 for additional parts). I was surprised at the cost and decided to get a second quote. I eventually had the installation done with another company for a fraction of the cost ($210).

I don’t find their prices cheap but their work is of great quality. They are very personal, very accommodating and they try to set you up but sometimes it falls through. If there is an emergency they may have to cancel you and then will reschedule. But you are aware of it. They will call you and let you know and they are very punctual. If they are going to be there at a certain time they are there unless something else comes up. They do quality work but their prices are generally high.

The company representative called in advance to schedule the appointment. She was pleasant and professional. During the scheduled arrival time window, the service rep called to let me knnow he was on his way. Both toilets were taking longer than they usually did to compete a flush cycle. The rep said it was normal for fixtures of that age so no adjustments were done. As a preventive measure he changed the rubber flappers and was done in about 20 minutes. For future refercne i was given an estimate of the cost to purchase and install a new toilet. I'm not sure i would purchase a 4 point tune up again, but the work done was OK and they were punctual and pleasant to deal with.

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE Purchased two "deals"for two of our rental properties.The day of the appointment the guy showed up at 8:47am from the scheduled 7:30 am meeting. The toilet was running; he looked at it and in less than 1 minute said that it needed a $46.00 part which was going to be additional. I was surprised but I did authorize the work as I had already wasted so much time. within 13 minutes (including the time to go to the truck and pick up the special part) the work was done. I had another voucher for another unit , 1 mile away. This time is was the sink underneath that was leaking. The guy looked at the sink run the water for 2 minutes put his hands underneath and said: Yes it leaks. To removed this "custom made" sink and fix the work it will be about $400 extra." I thought he was kidding but he insisted that the sink - again custom made , according to him - created a difficult repair.. At this point we realized that we were taken for fools by this guy and asked him to do nothing and the whole thing seemed more like a scam. He called the office and the $46.00 part for the toilet was waived. He left without leaving us a work order or receipt of worked performed. Two days later I requested a receipt by phoning the office I was told that a receipt was going to be mail to me within a week - that was Jan. 27 today Feb., 14th I am still waiting We ended up in calling another plumber - recommended by a friend - the new plumber who came on time , removed the sink repaired the leak and within 20 min. the sink was fixed : cost $125.00. The "custom made" sink was actually purchased from an internet website and while is modern is far from be "custom made" We wasted $99.00 with this company but thanks to their poor job and greed we found a new plumber .. and with a few rental properties have a plumber is always needed.

He was thorough, professional, fixed the problem and, cleaned up everything well.

I’ve called them several times and they have not returned my phone calls.

The technician quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it -- providing the extra part from his inventory. He helpfully explained what was wrong and was done in less than 15 minutes. The company arrived on time and -- better yet -- called when they were en route so I wasn't left guessing. Overall, I had a very positive experience.

We telephoned JH Peterson to repair running toilet. On positive note, the receptionist always answered immediately and was very professional. Negatives: Technician was a no-show on first scheduled appointment without providing any notice, requiring waiting around to no avail; second appointment technician showed and said we needed whole new toilet at cost of $750. We scheduled the work. On day work was to be performed, receptionist called saying that both of their trucks were broken? We said based on this second failure to show up for scheduled appointment we were going to choose a different provider. We then called Roto-rooter, who came out the same day and replaced the flapper at minimal cost; toilet has been working perfectly ever since. Accordingly, I recommend getting a second opinion if JH Peterson tells you something needs to be replaced in its entirety.

I think they did a great job of inspecting the furnace. He took a few actions to try to get it to work. He was not able to fix the problem, but he did a good job of diagnosing what was wrong.

They were very rude to me when I called. The lady started the conversation by stating a large list of things they would not do and that she hoped I didn't need any of that done. She could have approached the subject in a professional way but instead she was very rude to me. I will be refunding this deal because I don't want to work with this company anymore.

The deal specifically said it covered a plumbing leak search. When I called the company to discuss the project of a leaky toilet, they said that this would not be covered and would cost extra. She was very adamant to me about going back to read the over the Big Deal as she thought I hadn’t read it thoroughly even though it said what I was looking for.

A technician was able to make it to our house the next day that we called. He was punctual and clean.

I should get my money back; this was a terrible experience. It is apparent that the Peterson offer to Angie's List customers was a gimmick/con game designed to get people to buy more expensive services. I needed my flappers replaced and a handle. The plumber told me the deal only included replacing the flappers and if he replaced the handle, he'd have to charge me the price for a full rebuild. I told him I'd buy my own handle. I wish I'd replaced my own fIappers as well. I had no idea a company would be so deceitful as to sabotage my toilet in order to get a call back so that they could charge more for services I did not need until the plumber rigged my toilet to malfunction. I had already paid $207, which was a generous amount for three of the cheapest flappers the Peterson could find. I did not call them back. I went to the plumbing supply shop and bought a genuine Kohler replacement flapper and a handle for one of the other toilets, installed both myself and the toilets are now working fine. I spent $207 to learn that JH Peterson is an shady & dishonest company. Do not use JH Peterson,INC

great. Professional technician installed a new flow valve. Toilet works much better! He also listened to my concerns about shower pressure, and took a look at the shower head as well as where the water enters the house. Couldn't tweak anything - he patiently explained why it was working as well as it could. Offered to come back another time to dismantle the showerhead, but expressed doubt that it would change anything.

I was very happy with the quick response, the explanation of the problem, the discussion of challenges that might arise with those faucets and the overflow, and his quick (and free) examination of the overall plumbing system.

First of all, Ellen who handles the calls for JH Peterson is such a sweet woman and so very helpful. She was just a delight to speak with and gave us good time and date for someone to come out to install our vanity, which my husband began installing but realized that we needed some professional help. Brian was on time and just so unbelievably helpful and professional. He gave us a very reasonable estimate. What I love about JH Peterson is that they come and give you the estimate and then have all the tools in their vans so they can do the work on the spot, as opposed to having to make another appointment. Brian finished very quickly and did such a beautiful job. I will definitely use JH Peterson for any of our plumbing needs.

I called many plumbers to help fix major basement plumbing problems created when another company installed a sump-pump system in my basement. JH Peterson were very sympatheic to my tale of woe and sent someone over immediately! They also worked very hard to not dig up my whole basement to do the sewer-line repair. I have an older row-house so they uncovered many problems that they fixed without raising the original cost. I don't know what I would have done without them. I plan to always use this company in the future.

Noticed that a pipe in the basement had burst. Came out on a Friday night to assess the situation. Recommended replacing the entire basement plumbing due to multiple pinholes in the old copper pipe. Very professional. Not the cheapest, but if you want a job done right the first time by an extremely well-trained and courteous plumber, call JH Peterson and ask for them to send Jeff. Excellent all around.

I called several plumbing companies and JH Peterson was the first available to investigate my problem. They were very professional and courteous on the phone and I was pleased that they could come soon. On the day of visit the plumber called about 30 minutes in advance of his arrival. He was knowledgeable and friendly, and investigated the situation. He would need to cut through the ceiling to be sure of the source of the leak(s) from upstairs, which is what I anticipated. I also had a leak under the kitchen sink which I thought I could have fixed myself, but I could not find the time to check it out. I wanted both issues fixed as soon as possible with minimum disruption to my time, particularly since the bathroom leak had gotten notably worse over the last month or so (a water stain on the living room ceiling below was spreading). The plumber needed to get to another job for a short while, but was going to come back to do the work -- replace my toilet, replace the tub overflow, and in the kitchen, replace the dual valves under the sink. It took much longer then expected, but about 4.5 hours later he and another plumber were at work. I had received a couple of calls from the office to apologize for the delay in getting back to my job, but it was nice to get the updates, and they granted me an additional $50 credit for the inconvenience, which was very nice. The workers were careful with furniture and flooring, etc. and got the work done efficiently before too long. While I think the work they did was very good, I am not completely convinced that I actually needed the new toilet, and of bigger concern to me, the jury is still out as to whether they detected all leaks. I had to wait for 12 days to get my ceiling repaired and repainted by another contractor, so there was a good amount of time for everything to dry. Still, I have new water stains on my first floor ceiling. And as for the kitchen, I had to call JH Peterson again within a few days to have another plumber come out and look at the continuing leak. He told me that I needed new dishwasher connections, and would probably be advised to get a new dishwasher. He turned off one valve to minimize the leak and we stopped using the dishwasher until we could replace it. I have since replaced the dishwasher and the sink leak is indeed resolved. I think the first plumbers should have caught this if they had looked more carefully. I had to pay for the additional service call and take time from work again to attend to what I had hoped was done, but I realize that there is some trial and error to these kinds of things, so give them the benefit of the doubt.

The guy was honest and professional, told me save my money and replace the toilets. He even talked me through the install and replacement. He saved me over $400 bucks, in unnecessary repairs,

Brian came by, and took a look. He gave me a few options based on price and necessity. He fixed the leak same day and gave me all the appropriate discounts. Plumber seemed knowledagable and I would use this service again.

The work performed was great when they came the second time, it was apparently a highly technical work but which they managed without piercing the ceiling to reach the pipes. The same technician came back which helped for the follow up together with a junior colleague. It was raining that day and they ensured to protect their own shoes. In addition they gave us a first discount of 100$ the first time and another 100$ the second time which was very welcome.

He said he couldn't find anything that was obstructing the pipe. The problem was not solved. He still charged me quite a bit of money for the repair.

Brian, our technician came to our home on September 7th to take a look at what we needed to have done and to provide us with a cost estimate. We agreed to the pricing and before he left we scheduled the work to be done on September 16th. On both dates, Brian was punctual, courteous and thoroughly professional. We provided some of the parts ourselves and he had everything else he needed on his truck. The job took 3 hours. We are delighted with the results and would not hesitate to use them again. A special thanks to Brian and to Ellen, at the office, who is the most pleasant person you'll ever speak with when calling for service.
