Well. The man was very nice.

Had a minor scheduling glitch on company's part but was corrected easily. The service tech did not understand billing with the coupon from Angie's list and as a result quoted me a higher price for services but owner was contacted and corrected immediately. Service tech provided clear explanation of findings and completed service well, demonstrating end results. I plan to continue maintenance care with the company.

Do not call them. They have a service charge, $39 just to come out. I wanted no parts of that. NO way would i recommend them.

I would gladly have Mr. Butler return to my home. He is personable and takes his tasks seriously and responsibly. With regard to the Lifetime Guarantee and Maintenance program, Mr. Butler did not pressure me in any way to purchase the program. The decision was mine and I based it on the frequency with which the dryer is used.

Overall, I am extremely pleased. I purchased an "Angie's List Deal" for an inspection and a cleaning. After I made the purchase, I received an immediate email confirmation. I called and was able to make an appointment for the following week (per my schedule). The receptionist was very pleasant. I ended up having to cancel the original appointment and they were very accomodating in making a new appointment. The day of the appointment, Steve (the technician) called to let me know he was on his way. He arrived and he performed the diagnostic inspection. He explained what services he was going to perform, gave me options for recommended additional services (including costs) and then performed the service. He also gave me an estimate of how long I should expect the work to be completed. After it was completed, he explained everything he had done.

I saw a $25.00 off coupon advertising the Dryer Vent Wizard in a magazine and liked the fact that the company specializes in dryer vent cleaning. I made an appointment and asked what was the price range for the cleaning since I'd never had it done before The receptionist was unable quote prices but said she would have the technician call and give me more details. He called and explained that the price varied depending on the length and type of the vent and any repairs that might be needed. He said the customer is charged $39.00 dollars for the vent inspection, given an estimate to clean it and then choses whether to have the work done or not. I thought that was reasonable and figured since my dryers' vents hadn't been cleaned in 12 years they were certainly due for a checkup. When the serviceman arrived, he checked the heat the upstairs dryer was producing inside the drum and on top then asked to see where the heat vented out of the house's exterior. He showed me that the vent's exterior ended in an outside wire basket that was solid with lint causing great heat buildup in the dryer inside. Clearly an alarming situation worthy of a dryer vent cleaning advertisement! He explained the basket was against safety code and would have to be replaced with another type with flaps to keep animals out but allow the hot air to vent easily. The dryer vent itself was a flexible aluminum type that is replaced rather than cleaned. He was unable to route the new flexible vent the original way out of the side of the house and suggested re-routing the dryer vent so it would be a shorter, more direct exit to a lower roof. He cut a hole in the drywall behind the dryer to show me what he was talking about and I could see that the original route was unnecessarily long and complicated. So, with my approval of the cost, he climbed up into a crawl space to connect the new aluminum dryer vent to the new hooded roof exit. He checked my downstairs dryer which was venting properly. He suggested cleaning every two-three years and being alert to excessive heat in the laundry room and unduly long drying periods. He managed to do all that in an hour and a half. He replaced the drywall into the hole behind the dryer but I think I will need to spackle and paint it to get back the way it was. I feel like I dodged a house fire bullet and am very glad the Dryer Vent Wizard worked its safety magic. It was a big bill but at least a saved $25.00 with the coupon!

Bill from Dryer Vent Wizard did a great job installing my dryer vent. For whatever reason the previous owners who rehabbed my row home did not feel the need to run a dryer vent from the laundry room in the basement to the outside. The dryer was venting into a bucket in the laundry room, which obviously is a mold hazard. So I called DVW expecting a huge job, but Bill came by, gave an honest and accurate estimate of the work to be done, came back a week later and got the job done in a mere few hours. I couldn't be happier about the services performed.

Dryer Vent Wizard installed a rigid venting system in my townhouse 5 years ago, so when I saw the Angie's List coupon for a dryer vent cleaning almost half price, I jumped at the chance . The technician, Eric Butler, arrived ahead of schedule and remembered installing the vent system. He completed the dryer vent inspection and cleaning work promptly. He was very courteous and professional. I would definitely recommend Dryer Vent Wizard.

I have a contract with Dryer Vent Wizard for annual inspections that includes 20% off the price of cleaning. Eric Butler did not try to upsell me or recommend work that was not needed: he checked the system and said that I did not need to clean the vent until next year. As a result, today's visit was free. He also called to say he was on his way.

Eric did a great job. He identified a problem that the dryer vent line had become disconnected and was blowing lint and heat into the walls not to the outdside as it should. He was very thorough in his investigation of the problem and made the necessary repairs. He also checked to make sure the walls were not showing signs of mold. Then cleaned up all the lint. Very efficient in his work and got it all done pretty quickly. I suspected there was a problem with the venting but was never sure who to call so kept putting it off. An appliance repair person we used looked at it a couple years ago and said it looked OK to him. I am glad that through Angie's list I was able to find an expert in this area and have them check it out.

The technician arrived a little late for the appointment, but was very professional and curtious, and explained the work to be done thoroughly.

2 Techs performed the job. They were on time, courteous, acted professionally, and answered questions in a courteous manner. They proactively showed me the results of the cleaning and reiterated the guarantee of their work.

I called Dryer Wizard per the recommendation of Universal Appliance - a great company that recently serviced my washer, but doesn't do dryer vent installations. I checked with Angie's List to see if Dryer Wizard was also on there and was pleased to see that they were. I initially called the owner, Eric Butler's, phone number (was listed on the card Universal gave me) and got voicemail which directed me to the company's scheduling line. They were willing to set me up with an appointment for the next day, but I couldn't take it, so I was able to get something later in the week. This morning, Mr. Butler called to inform me that the heavy rains were causing traffic delays, but he still arrived within the window I'd been expecting him. He was extremely professional, courteous and, after looking at the vent, told me right off the bat how much the repair would be. (Our dryer vent had become bent and broken, needing to be replaced.) I've heard one too many stories of fires starting from backed-up or improperly functioning dryer vents, so there really is no limit on the value of having it in working condition. Mr. Butler was very kind and offered me the most reasonable price that he could considering he operates as a franchise so the rates are pre-set. The only reason I put "B" under price is because $171.50 is not exactly a drop in the bucket. That said, again, it's worth that and more to keep your home and family safe! I would highly recommend this company and was very pleased with the results. The only downside is that now I have to go do laundry for five people...LOL.

We were very happy with the work and noticed considerable improvement in the functioning of our dryer. Eric was very punctual, clean, and responsive to our requests. His assessment of the source of the problem was on the mark and he followed up very quickly with additional work.

We were very satisfied. He cleaned out the bird’s nest and cleaned up the nest that ended up on the grass. We were very happy with it. They came out on the day they said they’d come out. They quoted me a price and that’s what they did it for. The quality was very good.

They did a very job. They were very fast. It seemed like the job took less time than I would have thought so I think a lower cost might have been appropriate. They were competitive with everyone and they were very efficient. They got in and got the job done and were on their way. I would use them again.

An excellent experience. Professional, prompt, fair and experts in their field. I was beginning to lose faith in the service industry but Dryer Vent Wizard restored it. It was a pleasure working with them.

Franchise owner arrived well within the 4-hour window and did the work (in spite of the rain) quickly and efficiently. Cleaned up after himself thoroughly. While I was pleased with his work, I was not happy that when I called the 1-800 number to set up an appointment, they would not even give me a range of the possible cost, so I had no idea before the work how much I would be paying for it. He waived, without my asking, the $39 "service fee" which is supposed to include a "safety check" that I knew I didn't need. The final cleaning price depends on how high the vent is, so I do not understand why the person who answers the phone (this is a franchise operation, and perhaps she is with the main and not local office) wouldn't give me an estimate even when I told her I understood it was just a ballpark. Nevertheless, while the price was higher than the last company I used, I will use Dryer vent Wizard again.

Good overall experience from initial contact to service call

I scheduled an appointment between 11 and 4 and he arrived about 1. He called before arriving as requested. He inspected and said vent should not be hard to clean and it wasn't. He replaced the part of the duct that was foil and supplied the vent. It took less than an hour. This is a franchise so the price reflects that. All they do is dryer vents and they seem to know that. They sell a lifetime guarantee for $30 which gives you an inspection every year. Think if that is really worth it. There is a $39 service fee whether you get work or not.

They solved my problem; I had a plastic exhaust pipe that was replaced with a metal pipe as I was concerned of the security in there. I had a lot of trouble finding someone that does this kind of work and of course that?s what they specialize in so I plan on letting them service my dyer once every year. The technician that came out was very knowledgeable in different dryers and what had to be done. He explained everything to me. He was very good and very professional.

The technician came as per schedule, wore shoe booties to protect carpets and was very courteous in explaining what would be done and how much it would cost.
