They actually came out and said my chimney was clean and did not need the service. It was a rental house i own and had not checked the chimney in 10 years. The fact they were so honest will make me use them for my own house and other rentals i have in the future. It is very rare that you find a contractor who took the time to come to the house, that would say you do not need the service you contracted for.

Chimney.com was one of three bidders on project. They took the most comprehensive and thoughtful approach among the three and their price seemed reasonable based on the three bids. I was especially impressed with lead mason Abram, who clearly worked to high standards of excellence and creative problem solving. I would hire again.

The first fireplace was fixed no problem. The second and third fireplaces were more difficult to figure out. Without going into too much detail, there were several attempts to fix the issues (and note these gas fireplaces are understandably very temperamental)... but with some remaining issues like the pilot light going out. But the overall sentiment I want to convey is how PROFESSIONAL and great the staff at chimney.com were because they kept coming back, found good solutions to the issues and fixed the problems. I really appreciate their fantastic customer service and professionalism!

Out of three estimates, they gave me the best price and didn't try to sell me on any extras that the other services did. The rep who gave the estimate was pleasant and seemed knowledgeable. I cant see the work myself because it is mainly on the roof, but based on the photos they took, I am quite pleased.

Two man crew. Crew was here for about three hours for the repair work (counting set up and take down time, plus one person left for a while to get supplies). Can't tell how the repair work looks on the cap as I haven't climbed up there to look at it. On the other work, I probably would have scrapped away some of the moss growth on the chimney before acid washing it. I didn't think about it beforehand, but it only took me 5 minutes to scrap it off afterword. Decent amount of either acid wash or waterproofing sprayed on side windows, had to clean it off. Forgot to ask them to fill out a Fairfax County vent/chimney certification form required for getting a gas insert installed. Called up, told them I would send them the form. Sent it via email. Didn't hear back, so emailed again. Never heard back. So, now I have to get someone else to come out top inspect and certify vent/chimney.

I was looking for someone to inspect my gas fireplace. I purchased the house a couple of years ago and was unsure when it was last looked it. Through Angie’s list, I found Chimney.Com which I chose because of reviews. It was very easy to get information and to schedule the inspection. I got a confirmation text once they were on the way to my home. They were punctual, professional, and friendly. Thankfully my fireplace was working fine. I was educated on my fireplace set and given helpful advice. I’ll come back to them should I run into problems with my fireplace in the future or need another checkup.

Nothing about this company went well. They charged $75 for an estimate which I paid. The estimator was on time but was constantly interrupted by cell calls regarding problems with other jobs. The inspector damaged the chimney crown by poking large holes in the cement leaving the crown exposed to water intrusion and damage to my upstairs ceilings. He was also unable to provide an final estimate for the chimney rebuild; said his boss must do this. The company eventually provided an email estimate which was much higher than the other two estimates I obtained from other companies without paying an upfront inspection charge. I requested a refund of the inspection fee due to the above problems but they refused. Needless to say I did not have any confidence in this company doing the job. They indicated that they were swamped with business this time of year. Go figure.

It was easy to set up an appointment with a quick phone call. The service technician (Stefan) called to let me know he'd be a few minutes late, which was much appreciated. He arrived and quickly got to work examining my misbehaving fireplaces, offering great advice about the damper, what to burn, how to perform simple cleaning tasks myself, etc. He went up on the roof to inspect the chimney, and was very thorough examining my two fireplaces. Fortunately, nothing major was required in the way of repairs, but I feel confident in calling on them again if I have further issues in the future.

Wonderful. The whole team was fantastic. Very good to work with. I interviewed about 5 companies and they were the only one I felt comfortable with.

He inspected and indicated we did not need chimney swept or drier vent cleaned. Thus only cost the inspection charge.

Very smooth process from scheduling to work being performed. It was our first time getting the chimney cleaned in out new house and they spent some time going over the system we have and how it works. I would definitely hire again next year

I called in the first time. An appointment was set up for an estimate but no one showed up on that day. I again called after a couple of days and new appointment was given. Again no one showed up on that day. I called in for the third time and I was not given any explanation for missing the appointments. I was told they are have no date available for the next two weeks. I was shocked with their professionalism. Please do not waste your time on this company. It's the most irresponsible company I have ever called in my life.

Very pleasant and informative interaction. Called them for a free estimate on a chimney liner. He looked up chimney; cannot recall if he took photos on his cell. did not scope it. He reviewed the photos another company took and commented. He was very prompt, polite, professional. Chimney.com visited to provide a free estimate for chimney liner. Their price is very competitive . They also offer a discount to Angies List customers. As a property manager, I am always looking for a good value, honesty, integrity and good quality work. I will probably hire them.

In my opinion I believe I was taken advantage of. I believe I was looked at as a dollar sign and not a person with a real problem. Person came out and gave me an estimate. I paid a deposit to secure work to begin. Work was done and I paid remainder. After a rain water was still coming down. Same person came out and claimed gutters had leaves. They were supposed to have cleaned the gutters. Person said he missed a spot covered with leaves when he made the initial inspection. Part of the repair was for flashing. Person who inspected stated flashing needed to be done at base of chimney and roof but the company does not do that "flashing". The company charged me for flashing the chimney. He said I would need to call a roofer. I felt the company got their money and wanted to wash their hands of my problem and pass me off to another company. I am not a rich person and I certainly don't have a high ladder to climb up to my chimney to inspect. On initial inspection person did not show me photos but after work was done I was shown a photo of the issue but again, this company does not do flashing at roof line. I feel the initial inspection was not thorough enough as if they had seen other flashing at the roof line and chimney was not something they did, I could have found a roofer.

I couldn't be happier with the work performed. The workers were both friendly and professional and did a great job with the work performed and cleaning up after themselves.

The team arrived right on time and they were polite and efficient. They explained what they were doing, answering all my questions. There were no surprises, which was a relief. You can't ask more of a service provider.

The estimator showed up on time and gave a fair price. I hired them on the spot and they scheduled work for the following Tuesday. Two guys showed up (one was the estimator) on time and started the job. The liner was stubborn but they did some extra work and got it through. They finished other repairs, cleaned up and locked up. They also removed a large nest that was in the fireplace flue. They guys were great and did really good work, came with all materials and tools needed to do the job in 1 visit. I would recommend this company to anyone who asks.

I contacted three different chimney repair companies. Tim Owen, Field Operation Manager for Chimney.com came out and explained what needed to be done to correct the problem and bring chimney up to code. Within 24 hours I received a detailed invoice of what would be done and price. The response, attention to detail and the price were the best of all three. The crew showed up two days after I authorized the work and paid the deposit. Chimney looks great and I am very pleased with the quality of the work.

Service completed as expected. I bought an Angie's list deal to do a chimney sweep and inspection. The service was easy to schedule, they came on time, and completed the job as expected, including clean up.
