Description of Work: Originally had Angie's List deal for chimney cleaning, but knew that there were likely some issues with chimney in recently purchased house. Their assessment matched what our home inspector had thought in terms of problems that would need to be repaired. They also showed pictures of each of the issues in my chimney. They applied the value of my original deal to the repair cost. The repairs went very smoothly and the crew did a great job keeping things as clean as possible and made sure to clean up after themselves.

Description of Work: They cleaned and serviced 2 gas fireplaces in our house. One of the fireplaces did not work after a few hours because a childproof feature on the remote (which I had never seen) was activated. When I called to explain the problem, they sent me to a link to the service manual. Neither my husband nor I could get the fire turned on. After a couple of weeks, the service person came again, changed some settings and we have had no problems since. The fireplaces both look great and perform well.

They were easy to schedule & reschedule as needed because of weather and our travel schedule. Description of Work: Angie kept prompting me to do a review and I kept deferring it. Sometimes it is not clear how to answer these reviews. The contract provided prompt courteous service and it was an Angie special. However, I had two issues. The contractor asked me for paper towels to do the cleaning. Since the job was to clean and check the operation of my gas fireplace, I think not having paper towels shows a certain amount of unpreparedness. Also, a review of all the remote control functions would have been nice. Had a functional test of the remote been done, the contractor would have discovered that the auxiliary light was burnt out. Basically the work scope was done, but it wasn't extrodinary.
