all went well. only compaint is that i was given a two hour window and when no one had shown up at 2 hours past the window, i had to call to find out what was going on. apparently, the person had been delayed and i was given another estimate of arrival time and the guy did show up then. however, it seems to me, if you're given a two hour window and then someone is two hours late beyond that, it's more appropriate for them to be calling me, as opposed to me having to call them! good news is that when the guy did arrive, he took care of everything quickly and efficiently and didn't find any other problems with the chimney, so no additional work (or money) was required.

Went smoothly, very knowledgeable and pointed out some issues that would need be fixed in the future.

The workers were pleasant & kept me informed. It took 2 days instead of one, but was okay.

Bought the special...it was 2 weeks before they were available. On the Friday of the appointment I got a text message at 7AM saying the tech was sick and wouldn't make it. He called at 8:30 to make sure I got the text. Very professional about it and the company called at 10AM to schedule another appointment. The company definitely overbooked the tech when he was back from his absence because my 2-5 window ended up being basically 6PM. The tech was nice and apologized profusely for his absence on Friday and delays on that day. The work seamed fine but really I got the cleaning done because there was an obvious chimney smell in the room and he said up front that the cleaning wouldn't help that. From that point on it really didn't matter to me, we had just bought the house and didn't plan to use the fireplace, so if the cleaning didn't reduce the smell then I didn't care what else he did. He was quick and professional but I didn't pay much attention to the other work he did since my goals weren't to get the chimney ready to use.

Terrific - on time; helpful; effective and efficient

During the evaluation phase the company provided two locations for prior work. Neither was the partial course replacement type I'd hoped for, but I did observe the quality was first-rate. A neighbor introduced of one site himself, proudly boasting he'd had *his* job done by somebody else for much less than chimney.com, and I inwardly shuddered at the sloppiness on his house. His boast made me all the more glad I found Chimney.com. The job I asked for was to replace the portion of chimney (mostly above the roof line) where weathering had been flaking off a number of brick faces, and affecting local grouting. I'm pleased to report the apparent quality of the replacement exceeds the untouched original. But, for reasons I don't know, after waterproofing was applied, the division between the old and new work became more apparent in color. The bricks for my chimney are of a style/coloring difficult to locate. Another company declined to bid, stating they lacked the resources to economically get the odd lot size I'd need. Chimney.Com did the legwork, an found a very good match at $600 above the contract price. Workers were polite and professional in conduct. The site was kept clean throughout most of the job, but near the end, the flashing from the chimney to the roof had not been secured, to the extent that it had blown onto the ground before I realized what that strange object on the roof was. One surprise - they hadn't said anything about the wire mesh over the chimney, and I incorrectly presumed a cap would be installed to replace it. They had to cut it off, but did not charge extra. (Brian said I wasn't at home so they absorbed the extra cost ?? That difficulty not factored into the bid was a disappointment -- (I'm not a chimney guy.)) They installed another cap another $150. The person who made the original estimate verbally threw in waterproofing which the company honored without quibble. During my evaluation process, Chimney.com was proactive but without pressure. Brian was particularly pleasant to work with. Although I believe the finished product is solid, and absolutely a vast improvement over what I had, I do wish the estimator had factored in the cost for a cap.

Couldn't provide services as our chimney doesn't have metal insert

Tom was very polite and professional. They were able to meet me on short notice and spent 45 minutes inspecting the chimney, to include climbing on the roof and taking pictures. He explained the details of why the defects are important and showed me the faulty bricks within the chimney. Although the cost was higher than expected, I had not had the chimney cleaned in about 2 years, and the house was old. The work was scheduled very quickly and completed that day, which was valuable to me just to get it done and not worry about it. Tom and his assistant moved the furniture out of the way, kept the area free of dust with covers, and was very respectful and kind to my 2 large dogs.

The company not only tuned up our gas logs, but also put in a new system with a remote control. We are very happy with what they have done, especially after this past very cold winter. Our only question (which we did not ask) is: if there is a setting for high, medium and low?

Brian is very professional. He scheduled the work & followed up afterwards. We had a number of bricks that had been hit by the lawnmower too many times and had cracked. These bricks were replaced with matching bricks. Several other areas were filled in with mortar. Excellent customer service. Highly recommended.

The provider was late and in a rush since it was late on Fri. On the phone I was told that he would inspect both chimneys, but when he arrived I was informed that only one chimney applied. After the inspection, an estimate was provided for additional work that was deemed necessary coming to approximately $5000.

The last encounter turned out well. The first person came out and said that he wasn't skillful enough to fix the problem but the owner of the company could. The owner came out and ordered the necessary parts and they ordered the wrong parts. Then, they ordered again and the wrong parts came in. It took one year and it finally got fixed. They were very professional. The owner was very knowledgeable. He knew what the problem was. When the replacement came in, he knew that we don't have the right part. One problem with the company I felt was that if you have a company and you have different people working for you, they need to be trained because on three occasions they sent out people that work for the company but they still could not do anything. But, they were neat and timely. Finally, we got it fixed. Because you only use the fireplace in the winter, I'm just hopeful that next winter I don't have this problem again.

During the chimney cleaning they discovered that the vent pipes from our heat and water heater were not venting properly into the chimney. They fixed that and I am glad they did. They also discovered that the top five or six rows of bricks on top of the chimney were really loose. They took these off and replaced (with additional costs, of course, since it was an extra day of work). I thought they did a great job and I valued their work, crew, advice, and solid knowledge of chimneys.

The whole point of the repair was to get it done as quickly as possible - they didn't come till Saturday, but I was able to get someone else to come out on Friday and take care of it faster. They were gracious and understanding when I canceled.

Mike did most of the installation with some assistance provided by Tim. Both were very competent and polite. Mike was extremely well qualified to lead the installation and completed the project in less than 5 hours. Shortly after his departure, we had a wood fire burning and the unit performed up to expectations throughout the night, significantly reducing demands on our furnace during one of the coldest nights on record for a DC suburb.

Job was well done; on time. They were extremely professional and thorough. Done within the day, even though they had to work through a difficult problem to retrofit to an old wood stove insert. After installation I thought I had a problem ( but didn't ) however they came by the first thing the next morning after I called just to be sure. I will use them for any future chimney cleaning or repairs.

For the inspection portion, the tech climbed the roof and took a few pictures with his iPhone from the top on the chimney looking down. After performing a less than mediocre cleaning of my chimney (Plenty of soot and creosote build-up left after cleaning), he began to explain that he can tell by the pictures on the his phone that I've got a "big problem" that "poses some real risks". He told me it would be $1,800 worth of work, but if I agreed now, they'd perform the work for $1,500. I find it rather suspicious since just last year I had a true professional (different company) come out with a wired camera system and a live feed to his laptop that was led through every inch of the chimney. This chimney sweep told me my chimney was in great shape. To many things aren't adding up with my latest experience. I won't use chimney.com again.

Bryan came out to do the work with a smile on his face. He was extremely thorough and professional as he inspected and then cleaned the fire box and glass of my gas fireplace. I had previously been told that only plumbers perform this service but was happy to find a company that specialized in this kind of work. When Bryan left the fireplace was spic and span and working beautifully. I would definitely have Chimney.com do work for me in the future and will recommend him to friends and family.

We purchased the Big Deal for this company but once their technician arrived to complete the cleaning he advised that our chimney is too old to service and will need additional repairs before it can be cleaned. We are requesting this deal to be refunded. Everything about this company has been great though!

After the first tech missed his appointed time and finally came after dark he said he could not do the work alone and that two techs would need to come out to do the job and it would cost more... after speaking with the owner the next day and relating the very poor performance he rescheduled and sent two very competent tech's who completed the service were very professional and there were not cost issues at all... Yes I would use this service in the future. I did not grade punctuality as the one tech was not very professional and felt he did not reflect the nature of the business as a whole.
