The tech called about 20 minutes before arrival and got to work immediately. He identified a couple of areas needing service and fixed them quickly and demonstrated how the gas fireplace was now running well. Very good and efficient.

I received an email within a short time after purchasing the coupon for service, and they were able to schedule an appointment within 24 hours, Tim, the technician, called to let me know that he was on his way. He performed all of the checks and cleaning, and fixed our non-working remote. He patiently answered my questions, and was very professional.

They were punctual and thorough. He showed me all the place that required batteries for the remote as I haven't used the fireplace in 2 years.

Tim was great. I purchased through Angie's list a cleaning for $149, but since my pilot light was out when the technician arrived the time/$ went towards diagnosing the problem (so kind of lost out on the cleaning). Tim was back within a week and fixed the issue so my fireplace is working again. communication was great and very reliable. i will use chimney.com again in the future.

Chimney.com was generally non-responsive. They did send a technician on-site to conduct an initial assess of the chimney condition. However, we could not get them to follow through with an estimate or to schedule the work. Over the course of 4 weeks, I sent them 3 emails to try to get an estimate and schedule set. All 3 times they promised to get back to me, but never did. My wife finally called them and let them know that we wanted to hire them to do the work, and to please send us the information. Radio silence from Chimney.com. We spent 6 weeks of our time trying to work with them, but all for nothing.

Installer showed up on time and was professional. However the price quoted was way too high. I can buy a custom prefab Stainless Steel Chase cover online for $520 with free shipping. I was quoted $1,400 for a lower quality galvanized steel custom chase cover. The chimney is easily accessible and there was no mention of the installation bing exceedingly difficult. I told the representative this was about $400-500 more than I expected to pay $400-500 for part and $400-500 for labor. I asked if there were any discounts available or if this was their best price. I was told that the cost was $1,400 for the cover and installation. Asked how long the installation would take and was told I would have to wait a few weeks for the piece to be custom fabricated but the actual installation would only take a couple hours. $900 for a couple hours work is more than my attorney charges. Please know the $1,400 didn't include the actual chimney cap (which was extra).

Really well. Inspected chimney and told me what to watch out for in future with the "pre fab" fireplaces. They insisted on taking out the logs that were partially burned, which was really nice.

Our entire experience was fantastic. A friend referred me initially to Chimney.com but then after looking them up on Angie's List as well I gave them a call. They were extremely friendly and professional on the phone and scheduled a visit for inspection and estimate within a week. Tim handled the inspection and estimate and was terrific. He arrived on time and called ahead to give me a twenty minute notice. He was extremely thorough and then after looking over all aspects of the house he sat down and talked through everything with me. I had a ton of questions as well and he didn't mind answering all of them. The price was lower as well than a couple of other estimates I had already gotten. I followed up a few days later to schedule the work and they were able to book a date about a week later. Brian and another colleague handled the job and were also very professional, friendly and clear about what they would be doing. The job took two days and they stayed late on the first day to ensure they could finish the work on the following day. I highly recommend Chimney.com for any chimney related work on your house.

It didn't. We chose the company based on an Angie's List special. Initially we called to make sure they would come out to our home in Bowie, which is currently being rented, which the receptionist who answered the phone assured us they could. After confirming the work could be completed, we paid the special price fee. We then called our renters to confirm when they would be available to allow the company in to do its work. After determining a range of dates, we called back to the company. The company then said they could not (or would not) go to Bowie to do the work. As a result of their not living up to their initial commitment, we had to have our pre-payment refunded. We ended up having the work done by another contractor, which was done for about the same price as the Angie's List special.

The cleaning was probably an easier process than I anticipated. They brought in a shop vac and cleaned up all the soot. All that fine. The issue was that our parking lot was being repaved when they showed up. They parked inside the taped off area and personally I didn't care but later I discovered that the parking lot had been treated with a light black tar that they got on their boots from parking where they were not supposed to park. Then they proceeded to bring in that black tar onto my carpet and staircase. Now there are permanent stains on both. It was not directly their fault but not having some disposable booties resulted in permanent stains on my white carpet and hardwood floors.

Well. Only issue was scheduling, as contractor wouldn't perform until it had additional work in area to justify a trip to Northern Virginia. I can understand from a business standpoint, but not from a customer standpoint.

OK, except their original estimate was considerably higher.

Renters indicated work was performed satisfactory.

Tim came out the day after I requested an estimate and explained what needed to be done. I used the Angie's List Coupon, which applied the money for the cost of the estimate to the subsequent work when we hired Chimney.com. The entire job took three days: one day to tear down the chimney and acquire matching bricks, one day for the mason and his helper to build the new part of the chimney above the roof, and a final day to attach the flashing and caulk the area. Every single member of the Chimney.com crew was polite and professional and the work was completed promptly. Upon subsequent inspection, my husband was unhappy with the distance between the chimney and flashing and the quality of the waterproofing. When I called the office, I was told that someone would be out the next day to inspect the work and do whatever was necessary to make it right. This is, in fact, exactly what happened. The flashing was removed and reattached and we are quite pleased with the work. The bricks match the old brickwork very well and the masonry was superb. The crew was meticulous about the worksite and cleaned up daily.

Went very well, Jeremy was on time and Profesional. Had to get a cap put on and he did everything he could to keep the cost down. Wrote up an estimate on some brick work on the Chimney that I knew was there. Explained everything in detail and in order of urgency. Again I thought his prices were fair and not everything had to be done now. Will definitely hire them for the brick work.
