Based upon others recommendation, I scheduled a time to have an estimate given to me, which costs $60. I have never paid for an estimate before, but I was desperate to find a contractor to do my job. The estimator was prompt and promised the estimate would be emailed to me in 3-5 business days. On the 5th business day, I had not yet received my estimate. I called the office and was promised that I'd have my estimate the next day. After 10 business days, I had not received an estimate and I called the office again, left a message, which no one returned. At this point I would have given up on the contractor figuring that they did not need the work or did not want to do the job. I called again 3 days later and was finally sent the estimate by email. Each time I spoke to someone on the phone, they were courteous and seemed concerned that I did not get the estimate. Their estimate was 3 times as much as the next closest estimate I got for my job.

While I was trying to clean up some of the fingerprint dusting powder mess left by the police (not complaining, just noting), Greg somehow put the window back together. He showed me how the thieves had jimmied the lock. Then Greg screwed the window into place so it cannot be pried open again. He sensed my dismay as well, and was very kind. He'd been working since 6:30 that morning, and by now it was mid-Friday afternoon, no doubt tired. I called the company to thank them for their responsiveness, courtesy, skill and offered to write a letter of thanks to the Chamber or Better Business Bureau. They said a note on Angie's List would be nice. So here I am. And for sure, if I need windows or window repair, I'll call them. This family owned and operated business offers wonderful service.

Went well. Good work and it took only a few days.

The work was well done and they worked neatly although they will not remove shoes as I requested because of working with glass. It would be nice if they put covers over their shoes. One of the service men was very pleasant. The others were a little abrupt. I would go back to them because I don't know who else does this work. It took them ages to get the work completed - firstly to get them to come out to measure. Then it took a long time before the glass was ready and then had to wait for an appointment time again. Then when they brought the glass the factory had put the wrong pattern of bars within the glass. So it was waiting again and then waiting for an appointment once the glass was ready. But finally the job got done and I received the Angies' list discount. I also thought the price was very high.

Quality and punctuality were excellent, once appointments were scheduled. They were prompt once scheduled but the process of getting an estimate, ordering parts, and re-scheduling took weeks. Maybe this is typical, I don't know. The cost struck me as a little high, but perhaps that is typical as well. They were quite good and helpful, though.

I called several companies....and by far they were the most responsive and least costly. They were very helpful when I visited them at the shop.....offered many suggestions.

They seem very busy but the job was completed professionally. I would use them again to replace glass in old windows.

The estimate was scheduled soon after my call. The estimator was pleasant and punctual. My problems came later. It took over three weeks for me to get the estimate and that was after 3 phone calls. The estimate was much Higher than I expected, so I replied to the email with the estimate asking whether it was possible to negotiate a better price. I could not get a response. It took approximately six weeks, at least three phone calls, and at least three emails to get ANY response. If you are unable to offer a discount, I understand, but at least have the courtesy to reply to my emails and telephone calls. I think the lack of response was inexcusable. I started to wonder whether it wasn't their plan to get customers to pay $65 for an estimate and then never even perform the work. When they finally replied, they offered a 10% discount, which ended up being only slightly better than the discount offered to everyone on their website. I received no apology from the management. Given their lack of response, I would have given up much sooner, if I hadn't already paid $65 for the estimate. Also, there aren't many companies that perform window repair (vs. replacement). Thankfully, I found another company that gave a free estimate. I just had the work done yesterday, and the service was great for much less than Blaine quoted me.

Provider sent rep who arrived on time for the estimate and was greater. Provider forgot about our second appointment. However when I call to inquire they sent someone over to fulfill the appointment within 2 hours. Rep that installed windows left broken glass on the outside of home on bottom windows.. Did not notice until they had already left. Suggest that they clean up any glass taken out for replacement.

The part was just what I needed. I had looked all over in Virginia for a suitable part, but Blaine in Maryland was the only vendor who had it.

I decided to try contacting them through Angie's List, sent email on 11/16/14, along with pictures of the problem, my personal email address, and possible dates to schedule an appointment. I never heard anything in response. I chose based on positive reviews on Angie's List, and wanted to try working through Angie's List to schedule a service provider. It was disappointing to never be contacted.

After getting what I thought was a price for window restoration, I returned with my full set of windows only to hear the man at the counter say they only install glass, and that they do not do complete restoration. I took the window frames home, scraped the paint and old glazing off, and primed the frames myself. I returned to have new glass installed and reglazed and painted. Then the man at the counter further clarified that they would not paint or prime the window, only glaze. So here I am, trying to paint the glazing on the windows myself. If you are looking for a full-service window repair shop, these are not your people.

Our house is 20 years old and many of the windows had insulated glass that was fogged up as the seals on the insulated glass failed. The cost to replace all the windows was too expensive to consider so we opted to replace the failed glass units only. We saved more than $10,000 with the help of Blaine Window Repair! While some more units will surely fail we found it much less expensive to repair rather than replace. They crew that did our work was careful with our old windows and left our house neat and clean with only crystal clear windows! This company is a good choice for both repair and replacement work on windows and doors.

The screens were fabricated well, though a bit tight. Overall, the quality of the workmanship was excellent.

They are very good at what they do...just high $$$ as there is little to no competition so they have a corner on the market.

It went well and quickly. It was hard to find a company that could repair old windows like ours. We did balk at the price but had nothing to compare it with.

Ha d to wait a long time for the materials to come in.

It was well done and finished in one day.

I went to the shop on Linden Lane to ask is they did repairs. We set up a date to measure the window replacement and another to repair the panes. Both appointments went smoothly. The work was well done. Don't recall exact cost of these two jobs, other the expense was reasonable. I will use Blaine Window again, if needed.

I think these guys do an Ok job - granted replacing screens in REALLY old windows is challenging because the old vinyl retention clips were either broken, or would break if you tried to take them out. I felt that a few of the replaced screens did not fit the windows too well and had gaps between the screen frame and the window. We had 3 appointments total with Blaine - for one of them, the repair person showed up WAY past the estimated interval. While I understand that sometimes it takes longer to repair things than estimated, it does not help me to sit and wait for them to show up. I do not like their policy of charging for even showing up to provide an estimate for ANY sort of work. This may protect THEM from not having people waste their time, but it makes it impossible for the customer to do any type of price shopping. If I find someone less expensive to do the work, any savings are eaten away by having to pay Blaine to come out and give me their price. Overall, they do Ok work, but between pricing and other issue I'd give them a low B.

The kit came with everthing that ws needed. But our door was somewhat thicker that the usual I suppose because the screws were to short. A trip to a local hardware store provided some longer screws. I have used Blaine for years to repair storm windows and screens and have always had good service.

It went well. They were on time, performed the repair and left the place as clean as they found it.

Excellent service. Arrived on time, replaced the worn-out items with more up-to-date mechanisms, and cleaned up before they left. Would hire again.
