The guy, don't remember his name did arrive rather late but he called and told me he was running late and he gave me a discount to make up for the delay. This was his busy season, apparently. He explained how the wasps managed to create a hive under the porch and how to prevent this from happening again. Very friendly and helpful.

Like every review I read on Angie's List, I found David to be outstanding. I called him on Thursday, he tried to assess the issue over the phone. He provided estimates of pricing depending upon what the issue was (cicada killer wasps were more expensive and required repeat visits). We scheduled for the next day and he showed up at the end of his 12pm to 3pm window. He saw the problem (native papers wasps) and eliminated the problem quickly. As we recently moved into this house, he did a walk around the property with me. During the walk, he educated me on various issues that I might (or have) encounter and suggested ways to avoid or mitigate problems. Very personable, very professional, will use again for any problems that come up (which is inevitable).

We had noticed wasps in our family room this summer, and suspected the presence of wasp nests behind the shutters in front of our house. I called Bee Be Gone because of their high Angie's List rating. The exterminator and I set up a time and date. He was an hour or so late, apparently having misheard that the appointment was for an hour later, which wasn't a problem for us anyway. He inspected the outside and inside, noting 2 different types of wasps. He was very knowledgeable, and educated us regarding their behavior and aggressiveness. He treated around the windows which were the likely points of entry. He stated that the treatment would work for several months, and guaranteed it. Rather than doing (and charging me for) smaller components of the job, like sealing around the shutters, he told me how and when to do it myself safely, with cheap, easy-to-find materials. So far, we haven't seen any more wasps in the house!

We made the call on Saturday and David came out on Monday morning in the time window he promised. He gave a thorough assessment right away, and treated it on the spot. He also gave us specific and helpful instructions on how to follow-up after the treatment to prevent additional infestation. He further gave us referrals for other pest-related issues (termites and rodents). He was very professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. I would definitely refer him to others and would use him again.

It went great. He was knowledgeable. He actually showed up early and was very clear on his pricing structure. His rate was extremely competitive. Another person quoted $500 as a starting price instead of a fixed price and suggested all sorts of unnecessary items. He comes from a bee keeping family and he knows the trade. He also let me know what to do to avoid future infestation, and was very helpful.

We first contacted Bee Be Gone after reading about the company on Angie's List. David (J.D. Engel) seems to answer the phone, make the appointments, do the work, and basically run everything. He is terrific -- we were very impressed with his knowledge of the different types of wasps, carpenter bees, etc. He also knows an awful lot about other types of insect infestations, although he seems to have a specialty in the area of bees. When we first moved into our home 7.5 years ago, it was full of holes in the siding that appeared to have been made by bees or wasps. We had an exterminator come out the first few months, who sprayed. But they kept coming back every yesar. David approached it much more systematically. We first contacted him in June 2009. He identified them as carpenter bee, and sprayed to get rid of them. Then he plugged a lot of the holes. Later in the summer, another type of bee showed up. These turned out to be wasps. This time, David recommended a much more thorough job to seal the many gaps in our siding, after dusting inside the gaps with a pesticide. He came back in the fall after the insect season was over, dusted and sealed all around the house. It was a long and involved job (access to our roof and walls is not easy) but his price was very very reasonable we thought. He explained to us EXACTLY what he was doing and why. And he told us the bees and wasps would not be back. Well, we've now been through one spring and into the summer, and they're not back yet. So far, so good. David inspires a great deal of confidence. He really seems to know what he's doing, and takes pleasure in doing a good job and helping people dealing with their pest problems. He takes a scientific approach to pest management (he must have an advanced degree in entomology, the way he talks about insects!). We would heartily recommend him and his company to anyone with a problem with bees and/or wasps, or any other insect problem for that matter.

Couldn't have been better. I left him a message on his voicemail explaining my needs. He returned the call the same day and we scheduled an appointment. He gave me a window in which to expect his arrival. He was on time, very professional and friendly, extremely knowledgable about the insects and clear about the work to be performed. If I ever need this type of service again, he'll be the only person I'll call.

It seems to have gone well. We just noticed some paper wasps trying to return. If it continues I will call the company and see how they respond.

David showed up at the promised time. He examined our property and identified the sources of our bee and ant problems. He is very knowledgable and was very willing to share it with us. He suggested that he treat the carpenter bee problem, but recommended that we treat the ant problem ourselves to save some money. He successfully exterminated all the bees and demonstrated some of the ant treatments for us. We will pursue the further ant treatments ourselves and call David back if needed. We highly recommend David and his services.

David evaluated our situation regarding the ants and explained all our options in detail. We decided not to treat for the ants at this time, but rather to wait and see if they become more of a problem. He was totally helpful and did not try to get us to buy his services, even though the reason I asked him to come out was for the ants. I also showed him some bees nesting on the outside of our home, and he treated those areas and explained to me how to seal up those openings so they won't re-enter in the future. He also gave me advice on preventing other types of bugs from infiltrating our home. He spent a lot of time explaining things and answering all of my questions. David Engel is extremely professional, informative, and an expert in his field. Working with him is a totally different experience than other companies I have hired in the past, that come to your home and basically want to spray chemicals everywhere. I will absolutely hire him again for my pest control needs.

They found some red ant nests outside so he treated around the playground and told us what to do to follow up. He was willing to come back and do it but he was giving us ideas on how to do it ourselves in order to save money. He also found a couple of wasps nest that he treated and took down. He gave us a lot of advice on how to prevent the wasps from building nests and the ants from getting in the house. He treated the kitchen area for ants by putting down a gel that they eat and take back to the nest. I definitely feel confident in him.

David was very professional and informative and sprayed the individual holes for the miner bees. He is coming back 3-4 more times for follow ups.

After finding Bee B Gone (perfect name) on Angie's List, I called on Thursday afternoon to have someone come out to help with a wasp problem. I have had problems with wasps over the years and have had another contractor come out once or twice with mixed results. J David Engle came out on Friday afternoon after scheduling for Saturday but having a cancellation. He was prompt, courteous and professional, but most of all informative! It was like a mini-workshop on bees/ housing construction and maintenance. After checking all the places I have ever had wasps (he found the offending insect almost immediately, which made me very happy), he reviewed my risk factors for further problems, and told me what needed to be done as preventive maintenance, with some everyday things I could do to keep from being bothered by them in the future. He gave me an invoice which detailed the visit, what he did (sprayed some material that he said would last about 6 weeks), and what I needed to do, and that was that. All at a reasonable price. Given all that, the best thing is the consistency. He does not have employees, so if you call BBG, you get David. Period.

David arrived on time and explained in detail our problem. Thought I was doing the right thing by blocking the outside hole in the brick with mortar. Bad idea. Forced bees inward. David Engle is a "walking encyclopedia" when it comes to bees. He expalined what happened, where they were hiding, and was armed with bee outfit and insectides to kill the yellow jackets. Assured me the bees will disappear in 5 days and they did. Have not seen a bee since. This guy was absolutely outstanding!! Will use him again but hopefully I won't have to.

We just purchased a home that had been vacant for more than a year. During the inspection, we noticed a number of dead yellow jackets in the windowsills throughout the home and assumed there was a nest in the ventilation system. We thought the bees would go away once we started the renovation process, but they didn't. They were not agressive, just would go straight to lighted areas in the house and hover there. Every time we thought they were all gone, one or two more would appear. We called David with Bee Be Gone and told him the problem. He was very knowledgeable over the phone and agreed to come out and assess the problem a few days later. He arrived and within just 10 minutes or so located where the bees were entering the house--through a small opening between the brick and the siding on the side of the house. David showed us exactly where they were entering and told us how to prevent the problem in the future. Then he went to work, applying a product to begin the "eradication" process. He promised that within 3-4 weeks the bees would be gone. And they were!

He did a good job. He was top-notch. He knew exactly what he was doing. He did it only once and he did it right. He wasn?t cheap, but I got my money?s worth. He advised me as to how I could keep the bees away. I?ll follow his advice. I?ll definitely use his services again, if required.

He charged us 150 dollars when he came for the fist time to take care of the yellow jackets nest and after that for each visit he charged 25 dollars. He was very professional and very prompt. He told us everything that he was supposed to do and described how he did it. He did exactly what he said he would do.

He was absolutely fabulous. He came out, diagnosed the problem, and explained it to us absolutely thoroughly. He took his time. He was polite and articulate. He cleaned up after he was done. He wrote out word for word everything that he did and everything that we were supposed to do to follow up. I recommend him very highly.

They were responsive, professional, knowledgeable, and I would recommend him to others. I like him because he uses the least non-toxic materials.

He answered the call promptly, knew exactly what type of bees were involved, and came to our house promptly (called Saturday, he came Monday). He was a wealth of bee knowledge. He also returned a couple of follow-up calls when we had questions.
