+ -1 moreI contacted Bee Be Gone on Monday when I discovered not one, not two, but THREE underground yellow jacket nests outside my front door. David came out the very next day. In addition to these nests, he also took care of some European Paper Wasps who were taking up residence underneath my deck railings. Afterwards, he explained in detail what he had done and what to expect over the next few days. He even showed me the nests that he had dug out. (My first grade students would have thought that was SO cool!) He was extremely knowledgeable about these insects and even warned me about some potential hazards around my house to take care of. A real professional and a pleasure to do business with!

What struck me the most was he seemed to generally enjoy what he was doing and took a few extra minutes to show us some other hives he had recently taken down. He also discovered another nest of wasps that had taken root under the shingles, between the shingles and the roof. He was honest and told us to save our money since it happens every summer and unless they are getting into the house, then it shouldn't be a problem. He also gave us some good advice to keep our dogs away from the area because the hornets will still be able to sting postmortem. He also guaranteed his work for 6 months should the nest come back.

As a new homeowner I can appreciate that first he told me it was going to be alright and gave me detailed explanation and a very informative info on the issue I had. I had carpenter bee's making nests inside the weep/drainage holes in my brick front home. He walked me through the resolution and explained to me my brick and home were not in any danger. He fixed everything up for me. It was great. He was a pleasure to work with. I will definately call him if we ever need his services again. Highly recomeneded. Dont hesitate.'s!

+ -1 moreDavid came by and caulked/sealed the obvious stink bug entry points. I saw noticeably fewer bugs during the fall "entry stage", and have yet to see any this spring although it's still early. Normally we would get several a day throughout the "exit stage". David is extremely knowledgeable about his craft and very honest. I originally asked my regular exterminator (also from the "List") to come out to do the inspection and they wanted to charge me about 4 times what David charged for the inspection. Needless to say, they are no longer my regular anything and going forward, I will contact David for all of my pest control needs.
Description of Work: David did an inspection for stink bugs last summer and noticed that we had some areas on our home that needed to be sealed. He came back at summer's end to seal just before the stink bugs made their way in for the winter.

+ -1 moreThe owner (sorry I forgot his name) had the correct spray and it took care of the problem. He also destroyed a bees nest in one of our bird feeders that I didn't want to get close to. Would recommend him to anyone with a bee or hornet problem.
Description of Work: Got rid of hornets going up into the attic through a seam in the soffets. We attempted spraying before calling for help and they just kept coming. And spraying isn't the best thing to do since they can fly away from the hive in the attic and find a way into the house. Apparently there was a hive of about 500 swarming around in there. What peace of mind we had not seeing they flying around any more.

Description of Work: My husband is highly allergic to bees and my youngest daughter has multiple disabilities. We discovered when we were rennovating my youngest daughter's therapy room that there were bees inside the wall. With our situation, I headed straight for Angie's list and found "BeeBeGone" We called and David came out immediately because of our situation. The problem had to be handled in steps but David educated us and advised us on how he would get rid of the nest. He also told us that we caught the problem just in time due to mating season for these particular bees. This young man is professional, personable and very under-priced. He did a wonderful job, educated us on the bees, how they got there. He temporarily fixed the problem until he could be sure that the entire population was gone. He closed up the hole in our wall after killing the population and then we waited two weeks to be sure no other bees had the ability to get back in. He returned to finish the job and we were able to finish our rennovation without incident.

+ -1 moreRemoval of nest was not done immediately since he wanted to wait until roofer had set up scaffolding to climb onto roof. By the time that occurred about a week or so later and he came to remove them, much of the hornets were gone already due to elements, etc. Debris was removed from roof. We had used Mr. Engel's services before when he told us we had digger bees in the backyard and suggested we leave them alone since they were beneficial insects. He was very knowledgeable.

Description of Work: I discovered I had a hornet's nest on the gutter and awning just outside of my front door. The proprietor arrived on time, worked efficiently, and removed the nest very quickly. He left a white powder pesticide to deter any remaining hornets from rebuilding - they have not come back in the four months since removal. As directed I avoided the area for 4 days.

+ -1 moreThe company responded promptly to our call and were very professional overall. They gave us detailed notes about exactly how they had treated the insects and why they had done it that way. They also told us what precautions to take after they treated the nests. They even roped off the area with caution tape and told us how long to leave it up. We were pleasantly surprised that they gave us a discount on the second treatment, since this was a second nest some distance from the first, not a continuing problem with the first nest. We would use them again.
Description of Work: In our case, it was "yellow jackets be gone." We had seen a swarm of yellow jackets coming out of an underground nest near our front walkway. Wsearched for and found this company on Angie's List. One phone call brought the company out within a day or so. But about a week later we saw another swarm coming out of a new nest and we called and they came out and got rid of that one too, for about half the price of the first visit. They dug out about half the nest and treated and filled in the rest. The second nest was much deeper so they treated it in place and buried it. We would use them again.

Description of Work: Eliminated a colony of yellow jackets (estimated between 1500 - 2000) nesting between the siding and the house. After the treatment the bees were erradicated and haven't seen any since the treatment. I will use again.

They were able to come out quickly and kill the invasive species and remove the nest. It only took an hour, and the gentleman who performed the services was very knowledgeable and professional. They were slightly more expensive than other quotes that I received, but the service was definitely worth it. I feel very confident that the problem was completely resolved. I would use them again (but I hope that I don't have to).

Description of Work: We called BeBeeGone after a home inspector found an ant problem, indoors and out. Mr. Engels came to our home twice. The first time, after a walk-through, he provided chemical treatment and a thorough explanation of ants, their habits, and how to discourage them. He gave us the assignment of moving mulch away from the foundation and filling cracks between patio bricks with sand. He returned 2 weeks later for another treatment and urged us to call if the problem continued.

+ -1 moreThe man who came told us it was a Bald-Faced Hornet's nest and confirmed the research I had done telling me that these were particularly dangerous. He was very knowledgeable about the hornets, and I was also impressed that he was able to remove the nest intact and then transport it to a property where it could be safely left (out in the woods) without doing harm to the hornets or people. He used a treatment on the site of the nest to prevent them returning during a 6-month period, but it was only toxic to insects, not humans or mammals. I was very impressed with this service and would use them again.
Description of Work: We had a wasp's nest under the gutter on the outside of our house, above our patio, and Bee Be Gone was able to come that same afternoon to remove it.

+ -1 moreFantastic experience. I called on a Monday and David came out on a Friday. I had seen wasps coming down from my chimney and was worried there was a nest. I'm allergic to wasps and I also have pets so I really needed help. David checked everything out (no nest, thank goodness!) and was able to explain to me why they were coming down into the fireplace and he fixed the problem. He was extremely knowledgeable and his price was incredible.

I thought he was expensive, but I do not have any comparisons. Also, as I need a professional to do the specific job, I would say his price is reasonable.
Description of Work: I use BeeBeGone to spray for cicada killing wasps. He sprays the powder for getting rid of them. He does the initial treatment, and then, he comes out every ten days.

David Engel is a knowledgeable, and personable, young man who has found a successful niche in the pest control/exterminating industry removing stinging insect nests/hives, stinging insect proofing, as well as some other insect services (stink bugs, crickets, ants). He is very professional and industrious. I called David about removal of the hornet nest on Saturday and he was able to remove it Monday afternoon. He explained what he was going to do and educated us about hornets, wasps and other stinging insects. The hornet's nest would be transported to his family's property where the eggs could hatch. He told us how to prevent stinging insects from building behind shutters and other areas of the house. This was a very positive experience. Will definitely call him again in the future.
Description of Work: Removed large Bald Faced Hornet's nest being built on a tree branch near our backyard deck, removed two wasp nests (one active) in the outside corners of second story windows, and all window shutters serviced to flush out wasps. Also - useful advice!

+ -1 moreMy daughter heard some buzzing sounds on the inside wall of one of her dormers. On the outside, I noticed a few bees flying inside the corner of that dormer. I called Bee Be Gone the next day and David Engel called me back promptly and set up an appointment with me the next day. Upon arrival, he asked me several questions and examined the outside and inside of the dormers. At that time of the day, there were no visible insects. David sprayed several pesticides so that any bees would not nest in any of my dormer openings. Throughout the process he explained what he was doing and answered all my questions. David was very courteous, professional and knowledgeable. I was very pleased with his work. He recommended in the Fall to seal off some of the openings around my dormers. I’m going to schedule this work with Bee Be Gone in the fall. I would definitely recommend him to others. He cares about his work. Thank you very much David!

He called the day before letting me he would be in my area on Friday and would give me another call when he was headed to my house. He arrived, treated, and actually dug up and removed the nest. I was very impressed. He also inspected the area under my deck for any active wasp nests and fortunately did not find any. The fee for his service was very reasonable and he gave a 10% discount for an Angie's List customer. I am confident I will be using BeeBeGone's services again in the future.
